We had arrived early at the consulate, which was a good idea. We had forgotten to sign up for Looomis so we had to do that before we entered. Luckily, I had data on my phone and was able to do that quickly. They didnt let my husband into the consulate so he went back to our hotel to chill.
The security was a bit grumpy but once I was past them, everyone was nice. The wait for the interview was quite long. A little over two hours until I spoke to someone. The first person I spoke to just checked out the documents and gathered them from me. I was sent back into the waiting room but only for like ten minutes then I had the one on one interview. They interviewer tried to trip me up a few times by asking trick questions but over all it wasnt bad. I was honest and they could tell that. The interview was quick and he said I was approved. The interview told me I had to wait 2 1/2 to 3 weeks to get my passport back with the stamp.
I should have asked for more detai... read complete review

On July 28, I had my interview. It was scheduled at 10am.
My husband and our little 2 1/2 little girl were with me, I brought my husband with me coz I need help for my little girl plus i am 6 months pregnant.
We were at the Consulate around 9:15am then a lady with folder on hand asked me what time is my interview and i said 10am. So she asked us to be back after 9:30am.
There is a Starbucks across the street so we stayed there for couple minutes then back at 9:45am. Same lady came out from the door and called those have appointments at 10:00am and gave me an applicant number.
The security asked me if I was only the applicant. He told me my husband and our little girl will wait for me outside. I am only the person allowed to go in. I didn't say any word but to follow.
Next step was the security procedure. There was an officer asked me to put my bag with documents and said this is heavy. He saw that I am pregnant and ai told him that my husband ... read complete review

I had my interview at the Vancouver Consulate on June 30. It was a Monday at 8:30am. I drove from my home in Langley and arrived WAAAY to early but my nerves got the best of me and I couldn't sleep anyway. I decided to park and walk over to the consulate early. I got to the consulate and was greeted first by a non uniformed girl who check my passport and appointment letter and "signed me in". Then it was to a border guard who searched through every piece of paper in my very full binder. (I had brought everything in case they needed it). They were mainly worried about sealed envelopes. They also searched my wallet (which I had forgotten about a lighter that I had stored in there) this was promptly thrown out lol. Then they let me through where I was greeted by more security guards and had to go through a metal detector (like the airport) x 2. Then a border guard escorted me up in an elevator to the consulate floor. It resembled a bank with ticket windows and a waiting area. Th... read complete review

My K1 interview was at 7:40am on July 31. We arrived around 7 and were close to the front of the line. By 7:30, the line was quite long. At that time a staff member came out & set up a little rope to line up behind, a bit to the right of the original line. They asked for ONLY people who had 7:40 interviews to line up there, but I didn't quite catch what was happening and a bunch of people who were behind us in line ended up running over to the front, ahead of us.
A second staff member checked everyone's ID against a list. For a second she didn't find my name and I stressed out a bit, but she had two lists - one for immigrant visas and one for other appointments. I was the very last name on that last list. She checked my DS-160 & my loomis paperwork. My fiance was with me & he was allowed to come in with me after showing his US passport. They gave everyone who was there for K1 a number - we were #4.
We went inside & through a metal detector & checked in our... read complete review

Hi Visa Journeyer's!
So I'm writting this super late as I've been consumed with life but here it goes! I arrived in Montreal from Toronto via megabus on may 12th for a 7:40am interview the following morning 05/15 at the conuslate.I left my hotel around 6:45 am and literally walked about 10 minutes from my hotel (Celebrity hotel) to the consulate. By the time I got to the Consulate doors there was one couple waiting outside and a very nice girl who I met and chatted with for a while, she was there to renew her U.S. work permit I believe. Everyone on here stresses to get there early because the line literally does get long very quickly. At 7:40am sharp the guards opened the doors and a nice young lady came out and asked for my name, appointment letter and passport and I was given #1! for IV's that morning.
I was then sent in through security with no issues as I didn't bring anything but my hotel key and binder. Reminder: Don't bring any big bags,strollers,b... read complete review
