Hi Visa Journeyer's!

So I'm writting this super late as I've been consumed with life but here it goes! I arrived in Montreal from Toronto via megabus on may 12th for a 7:40am interview the following morning 05/15 at the conuslate.I left my hotel around 6:45 am and literally walked about 10 minutes from my hotel (Celebrity hotel) to the consulate. By the time I got to the Consulate doors there was one couple waiting outside and a very nice girl who I met and chatted with for a while, she was there to renew her U.S. work permit I believe. Everyone on here stresses to get there early because the line literally does get long very quickly. At 7:40am sharp the guards opened the doors and a nice young lady came out and asked for my name, appointment letter and passport and I was given #1! for IV's that morning.

I was then sent in through security with no issues as I didn't bring anything but my hotel key and binder. Reminder: Don't bring any big bags, strollers, big devices etc. to the consulate, they will deny you entry and send you away as I witnessed happened to many in the line ( Why this issue is still so common I don't know, because it clearly states this on the appointment letter. I was then sent down a set of stairs after passing security and waited for the guard to open the elevator to let us up to the notorious 19th floor. As soon as we got up we formed a line and within 2 minutes or so I was called to window #1. A very nice lady collected my passport, appointment letter, criminal check, medical, biographic info and finger prints. I was told to sit back down and within another minute or so I was called to window(?) can't remember lol and a very nice young man greeted me and asked me to read the oath.
Questions asked were:

How did you meet your fiance?
What does she do for a living?
Have you ever had any issues crossing the border?
Have you had any criminal history?
Have you lived outside of Canada?
If so, where?
Are you going to be living at the listed address in the USA?

He didn't even glance at my over stuffed binder full of paperwork! which I wasn't complaining about to be honest. My word of advice would be to have everything that is required of you to bring on the checklist and answer questions honestly. I was so nervous before the interview but pleasntly suprized at how easy it was if you have all of your documents together. The overall tone of the interview was very casual, it felt more like a generic "get to know you and your fiance/spouse a bit conversation" a conversation that shouldn't be hard to have if your marriage is bonafide. Overall a good experience and I wish you all the best on this forum! VJ has been a great help in my own visa experience and I'm so very greateful to have found it
