My experience with the medical and interview process in Vancouver!
My medical exam with Dr. Cheema was on Thursday, September 3, 10:00am. Overall it was painless and fairly quick, I read other reviews that cover it pretty in depth, so was prepared! My chest xray and blood test down the street took a bit longer, but I was done with everything by about 12:00.

My interview at the consulate was Sept. 8th, 8:30am. I arrived at 8:00, handed my medical result envelope, DS-160, and passport to the first guard, who looked them over and handed them back, then checked in my phone and had my packet searched before I went inside. Once inside and up the stairs I went through the metal detector and answered all the security questions (a breeze as long as you don't bring anything not allowed!) and then was escorted up the elevator. There was another applicant at window B, so I didn't have to flip the switch, I handed the lady my DS-160 and passport and sat until she called my name... read complete review

We had our interview yesterday. We got there at 6.40am and we were the first.. It wasn't as busy as others have said so maybe it depends on the day of the week.. Most people probably try to go on a friday?
At 7.30am the security came out and put the stanchions for the direction of the line. A lady came out with a clipboard and asked who had a 7.40am appointment and then gave us our number and check us off the list.. I'm not sure about the non immigrant people..
We went through security with ease as we didn't bring in anything with us except our folder and hotel card key.. My fiance was allowed to come up with me.
We sat near the elevator and waited for the security card to come and open the tape to the elevator.
We got up and we sat down in the middle section but then a guy came around and asked us to line. He then noticed we had the appointment no card and told us to sit down. He said we'll be called according to case number not according to the no on t... read complete review

READ THESE REVIEWS, seriously! If you do, you will be so prepared and have about the best experience you can have for this interview!!!

The day before my interview I scoped out the consulate to make sure I knew where I was going. The door is on Rue St. Alexandre - it's nothing special so if you're wondering if that is the main door, you are right. I got there just after 7am and another family and another girl was there (from VJ, but didn't catch her name ) who also had a K-1 visa interview. More people showed up after that, but a lot more were for non-immigrant visas.

At around 7:30am, an officer came outside to tell everyone to line up and a lady told all 7:40 appointments to move to the front of the line. I had to show my passport and appointment letter, was given #2 (she briefly mentioned to sit in the middle section of seats once we got to the 19th floor with other immigrant visas) and went inside to security. It was very quick ... read complete review

My interview was at 7:40am on Friday, August 28th at the Montreal US Consulate! Sorry this might be long, I just want to make sure I get all of my details in!

Mike and I lined up outside the consulate doors at 6:40, we were third in line. By 7:20 the line was quite long and at 7:30 the security guards came out and put up the line barrier and we're ready let us in. A woman came out and asked who had 7:40 appointments, I raised my hand and showed her my passport and DS-160 confirmation and she handed me the #1 card. Woo! I asked if Mike could join me inside and she said yes.
We were allowed in, I was the second one and we walked through security. They let you keep jackets and shoes on, I took off my watch and out my documents in a bin. Side note, you are allowed to have phones and extra things but no bags. They will just keep your phone/electronics at the security area until you are done your interview and ready to exit. Security guards were very nice.

This is our experience for my husband's interview yesterday morning (August 26th).

His appointment was at 7:40am. We got to the consulate at 7:15am and there was a line of about 15 people at that time. At around 7:50am the guard came out to set the line and two ladies came with the list for the appointments. They called everyone with 7:40am appointments to line up on the right side. Once we made it to them, they looked at the appointment letter, marks him off the list and handed him the ticket. We got #2!! He asked if I could come in and after asking if I was a US Citizen and me responding that I was the spouse, she said yes. The ladies were very nice.

We only had with us a plastic envelope with the paperwork so security was a breeze. We sat and waited for the an officer to come back at 8am and allow access to the elevator (which was blocked). While we waited, we got out the documents listed on the ticket with the number: passport, passport photos, medica... read complete review
