Medical Examination
I had my medical Exam done at the Medysis building in Montreal. I was very nervous and couldn't eat as we drove from Kingston. Once we found parking, we used the lot under the Medysis building we went around the corner and got a muffin as I didn't want to pass out after my blood test. My appointment was at 11am but we came upstairs at 10am I checked in and filled out the paperwork. Make sure you have your alien visa number from your NOA2 and your 5 passport photos. Once I handed my paperwork to the receptionist 20 mins later they called me in for my chest X-ray and at 11:20 I got my physical exam the doctor was really funny and nice. The exam took maybe 10 mins and I got sent out to receptionist after. Probably 30 mins later I got called in for my blood test where she took my temperature height and weight. Then the actual blood test testing for syphillis I didn't need any needles as I was up to date got my flu shot the week before. Once complete you sign a p... read complete review

My husband and I were super nervous for this interview at the Vancouver Consulate. We got there pretty early and there was already a line. The wait took a while to get inside the building so dress warmly! It was all directed fairly well once inside. They directed us upstairs in a small group of about 6 into a waiting room. From there, once they had your information, you had to wait to be interviewed. I thought it was going to be a small room with a desk, but it was just a standing window with short privacy walls and a glass barrier between the interviewer and myself. The lady was very nice and seemed to like the story of how my husband and myself met! She typed a few things, asked only the basic questions like how we met and suggested wedding date after the visa is approved. After that, she gave me the 'approved'! smile and took my passport to have it sent back to me in a few days with my visa inside.
All an easy experience at Vancouver. My passport took about 7 business... read complete review

My appointment was for 09:30, so actually kind of late in the day for them I was able to enter almost immediately, and got #19.
After all the warnings about not being able to bring in electronics, I left my mobile at the hotel's left luggage, and was annoyed to find that they were checking in cell phones for people, after all.
Waited upstairs for 77 pages of The English Patient until I was called to Window #1. Gave my medical envelope, passport, passport photos, and letter, gave my fingerprints. Answered a few questions about address and email address and so on (reminded me of calling NVC :D), tax transcripts, and then was sent back to sit and wait for the next summons. That was about only 30 pages of my book later.
I got the CO with the short beard, who was quite nice. He took original marriage certificate, my birth certificate, police clearance, and the amended I-864 they'd asked for. We chatted about this and that, how I'd lived in the U... read complete review

I had my consulate interview on Friday, December 18th, 2015 @ 8:30AM in Montreal. I will briefly explain my last few weeks experience to get me to have a successful interview.
I made a small package months earlier with all the important documents needed for the interview, but about 2 weeks before the interview I decided to put together a binder so it would be easier to flip through to the necessary pages and display photos easier.
I am glad I did this when I did, because I realized that part of my original Police Check/Background Check was missing! So, I flew back to Canada immediately and requested another one. Because the woman at the police station said the processing times had gone up due to an influx of applicants and being close to Christmas, she gave me the number to the office where they process them! I called about 30 times that day, no one answered. There is an option to leave a voicemail--just do that! Someone will call you by the days end to le... read complete review

I had my interview this morning at the Montreal consulate at 7:40 am.
I got to the consulate around 6:55 and was the first one there! Around 7:10 people started trickling in. I was waiting on the left side of the doors, by which I mean the side closest to Ste-Catherine and NOT the side closest to René-Lévesque, and not directly in front of the doors but around the little corner (leaving the entryway clear). For a while I was the only one on my side and there were 5-6 people lined up on the wrong side, which made me start to doubt my position, but I'm glad I trusted VJ cause I was in the correct spot!
At around 7:30 the security guard came out and made everyone line up behind me. By then there were several dozen people waiting outside. Several people were turned away for having backpacks and some complained they hadn't been told that, even though it states it clearly in the Packet 4 letter! The nice Filippina lady standing behind me had a medium sized p... read complete review
