Interview was at 10:30, we got in the consulate at 10am and got out at 12pm.

Very easy process.

I knew the embassy pretty well because I came here twice in the past for a J-1 and an H-3 visa. We entered the consulate at 10am instead of 10:30am and were given a laminate piece of paper that had a number and a list of documents to organize in order and provide. Security was actually nice and they let us in with our big massive folder and a McGill paper bag. They took our cellphones, lighter and cigarettes and gave us a number to come get them at the end.

We sat in the immigrant visa section (the consulate was really packed), got called to a first window to drop off our documents after one hour of wait. Very nice lady, took all our docs (even some that were NOT on the list, so if you want a piece of advice, bring ANYTHING that you can think of and not just what is stated on Packet IV). She ended up taking:

Asked maybe five simple questions, wanted fiancé divorce document and some documents about assets. Read the reviews here because they are spot on. Window #8 is a great guy! Bring everything they ask for and have it organized for easy look up, answer questions truthfully and relax.

I know it’s really long but I promise to try and be helpful. The day before my interview I collected my medical reports (large white envelope and a brown envelope with a CD) and went down the roads trying to locate the consulate. My GPS had a mind of its own and I went around the building in circles till I came and halted in surrender and noticed a man go in from the side of the building I looked up and saw it, “the eagle”, yes there are no flags or sign posts to lead you to your destination and your GPS will guide you to the huge building but after that, you are your own navigation system. So, for all first timers.

· The consulate is located on the 19th floor of a tall grey building.
· If you see an H& M store you’re close keep going straight ahead.
· The ideal way to describe it would be as you walk pass the street if you see a Starbucks you’re closer to your destination. Keep to your left, first y... read complete review

I had my interview on July 13, 2016. I stayed there two nights at Concordia Grey Nuns Summer Residences. It's really cheap there and if you take the metro, it's really easy to get to the embassy from the Place des Arts station, only about a 5 minute walk. The embassy is a few metres behind of Best Buy.

My interview was at 8:30am but the interview wasn't actually at that time, it's just the time you're supposed to enter the building, because there are so many people who go into the building, they just need to stagger the amount of people who go in. The entrance isn't super noticeable, it's kind of the side entrance to the building. There was a small line at the door and a security guard who was checking for your passport and your DS-160 so have those out and ready. After you go in, you'll go through the Security Body Scanner like they do at the airport and you'll have to put your stuff through the x-ray machine. You can bring your phone, they'll just put it into a cubby a... read complete review

I Stayed at the Days Inn... Wouldn't recommend this particular location as there were many issues with our reservations as well as outlets in the room not working (had to charge my phone in the bathroom) If you already booked the Days Inn, the consulate is a 10 minute walk and very easy to locate.

My appointment was set for 7:40 am, and I arrived at 7 on the dot. There was already about 15 people waiting outside...sporadically. So since there was no set line, I kind of just made myself at home, closest to the door. There are a few doors to choose from and may confuse some people. Easy solution...Find the door that has the American eagle above it... Or find the door with lots of young anxious hopefuls holding packages. Around 7:30 a couple guards came outside and asked people to form an actual line. Perfect, I was already close to the door and became third in line. The guard asked for everyone to take out their DS-160 (paper with your picture and barcode which must be p... read complete review
