Overall we had a very straightforward interview experience. The night before the interview, we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott down the street. Nice hotel, highly recommended for easily getting to the interview. They were more than happy to let us have a late checkout.

Our interview was scheduled at 9:30 and we arrived shortly after 9:05. Security was fast but thorough. No water, electronics, etc. The elevator is slow and we were upstairs 5-10 minutes after arrival. Sit in the center section for immigrant visas where everyone appears to be served first-come, first-served. You're handed a laminated piece of paper with instructions to sort your documents in their desired order.

After about 10-15 minutes my partner was called to window 1 to hand over the documents. This was the most time-consuming part of the process. The woman took some financial evidence but didn't want more than 2 years of tax transcripts for example. This part took longer tha... read complete review

My interview was scheduled for 10:30, I showed up at 9:15. After going through security and a very long wait for the elevator, I arrived upstairs where I was greeted by a Consulate employee who said they could see me right away.

I proceeded to window 1 where they asked a few basic questions and collected my documents before being told to wait for my number to be called. Like clockwork, they called out my number at 10:30 and after a few very quick questions (the CO was visibly amused by the story of how my wife and I met) that was it. Approved! The package turned up at home 4 business days later.

Rating for the consulate - 5/5

Having to unexpectedly fly from Calgary and spend 9 days in Montreal - 0/5
I'm still astonished that out of the 7 consulates in the country this is the only one to process CR and K visas. I'm even more astonished there aren't more choices for approved panel physicians. It would have been more convenient for me to... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

Just like every one has said before, the interview both made me the most nervous but was also the easiest part of this whole process. Just be very organized and have any paperwork they might require and you will be fine. I found the security to be very professional and the staff taking the paperwork were efficient. I had the guy for my interview who is referenced here regularly and as always he made me feel at ease and was great to chat with.

I had my interview January 26th, 2017. I had a very good experience and everything went really smoothly. All of the people working were very nice to me. I was not asked for any of the evidence of relationship that I had brought. Nor was I asked for any photocopies of anything. That being said it is good and felt good to be prepared! One thing I will say is that basically the day of my interview or even the day before apparently they had switched how they do things and as of now it seems that IT IS NO LONGER A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS! Meaning that they are respecting appointment times - so it did not pay for me to arrive at 7:20 for my 9:30 appointment - they kindly asked me to come back at 9:00. But what was nice was that I was still out of there by 10:20!
