Medical in Rio

As of September, 2015, there is only one place to do it, Dr. Aurelio Garrido in Leblon. Scheduling was easy, all done via e-mail - they prefer that over calling them. You will have to schedule the x-ray by phone, it's done two blocks away from the doctors office and the bloodwork doesn't need to be scheduled, it's done on the same building. The doctor will send you a file with instructions, read the whole thing and there won't be any issues.

I landed in Rio at 10:30am (Santos Dummont Airport), took a bus to Leblon and was done with all medical part (consultation, bloodwork and x-ray) and eating lunch by 1:30pm.

Also, take the shots you need to take before going to the doctor, you can get them for free at a public hospital instead of having to pay for them on a private clinic on the spot. Print the shot list and take that with y... read complete review

Everyone was helpful up until you actually go into the interview, not sure what they thing they are, they treat you in constant humiliation, arrogant and rude. The process is already a pain, and experiencing such a bad experience on the interview was cruel. Well, it was approved, but hey, if you don't like your job, quit and do something else. There are plenty of people that would do it.

My interview was today and I couldnt be happier!
My appointment was at 8.20 and that was exactly the time I got there, thanks to the intense traffic in Rio. Everybody was very friendly, I was guided to the second floor where I filled a form with personal info and then I was called for the fingerprints and the guy was very nice and helpful. They handled me a paper with my rights after entrance in USA.
Then.. interview time!
believe you or not, he only asked me one single question: how did you meet?
after that he looked up some things on the computer and finally said: your visa is approved! yayyyy!!!
Sweet part: After the approval I said thank you so much, this is probably the best day of my life so the man replied: the best days of your life just started, congratulations!
