Well, my interview was yesterday, and it was better and easier than I have ever thought it could be, I was so so so nervous at first, that later I became numb, I just couldnt feel anything anymore, I was prepared for everything, I prayed and I just trusted in God and let it be! If I could give some advice for you who is reading this right now is: Don't be afraid, stay calm, if you are being truthful and honest, you have no reasons to be afraid at all, everything is gonna be alright. So, my interview was scheduled at 9:20 am, I arrived very early like 8 am, there was a huge line, but its not ours, it's for the nonimigrant people, and you keep going you are going to see our line, if you don't find it its super easy, you just have to ask some of the guys with a orange t-shirt, there will be a lot of them, believe me! When you get in into the consulate, alex is going to give you 2 papers for you put like you address, your fiancee's address, both of you guys e-mails, the address where you s... read complete review

I just had my interview today, so I can finally write my review/statement/opinions here

Medical Exam:
I had my medical with Dr. Garrido, in Rio de Janeiro. To be honest, my first choice was the one in São Paulo, since it is easier for me to go there, but after contacting both of them, I decided to go to RDJ.
It is true: they only like to be contacted through email, so they’ll give you no information through the phone. The positive side is that Tania will send you everything you need to know, and if you forget it you just need to read it over and over again. She sent me the exams I would have to take (X-Ray and Syphilis), and a list of all the vaccines I should take.
If you are thinking on going to RDJ prior to the interview just for the exams I can assure you that a one day trip is time enough - there is no need to sleep there.
Tania is very professional - almost dry - and I say that so people will be ready for it, be... read complete review

I will write in English so the non-Portuguese speaking spouses can also read.

Medical in Rio

As of September, 2015, there is only one place to do it, Dr. Aurelio Garrido in Leblon. Scheduling was easy, all done via e-mail - they prefer that over calling them. You will have to schedule the x-ray by phone, it's done two blocks away from the doctors office and the bloodwork doesn't need to be scheduled, it's done on the same building. The doctor will send you a file with instructions, read the whole thing and there won't be any issues.

I landed in Rio at 10:30am (Santos Dummont Airport), took a bus to Leblon and was done with all medical part (consultation, bloodwork and x-ray) and eating lunch by 1:30pm.

Also, take the shots you need to take before going to the doctor, you can get them for free at a public hospital instead of having to pay for them on a private clinic on the spot. Print the shot list and take that with y... read complete review

Everyone was helpful up until you actually go into the interview, not sure what they thing they are, they treat you in constant humiliation, arrogant and rude. The process is already a pain, and experiencing such a bad experience on the interview was cruel. Well, it was approved, but hey, if you don't like your job, quit and do something else. There are plenty of people that would do it.
