My Fiancé's interview went well as she and her 8 year old daughter attended together on October 6, 2015. The consulate told her at the interview she was approved and the VISA should arrive in the Passport in 8 to 10 business days.
I had read not to purchase airline tickets until the VISA is issued. But I found a great price nearly a month before the interview flying from the US to and their tickets to fly home with me 5 days later. I made sure I gave them 13 days past the interview date. But it did include two weekends which counting really only left 8 business days between her interview and our schedule departure for the United States.
I checked the online status at the state department on October 13, and again it indicated the visa status, "Ready"
I sent an email on October 13, inquiring about the courier tracking number I had not received. I called the consulate in Porto Alegre on October 13. Today October 14, I logged in a day before my US departure flight and checked the status, "Administrative Process" Now I will loose $2,000 on airline tickets. I could reschedule and save some money maybe but then I don't know when to reschedule the flights. I could go for just three nights and love on my future wife and daughter but then I have to take time off work I was saving and spend money doing it all. Not sure tonight what my answer is and I don't understand how the status can change from "Ready" to "Administrative Process"
I would hope my phone call inquiry and email that truthfully stated my urgency did not make them mad with me. I understand that the statuses of VISAs do sometimes change before they are delivered. No one is allowed to share much information if you are lucky enough to speak to anyone.
