My interview was today and everything was pretty smooth and as fine as people say here.
I am from Rio and I decided to leave early because my interview was scheduled at 7:20 am and to avoid hitting any possible traffic on my way to the consulate. I arrived at 6:30 am and waited next to the consulate for about 50 minutes, while people started gathering on the line waiting for instructions. A guy in a red Polo (who I believe was Alex) came, checked our names and interview schedule and guided us to the second floor of the consulate.
There he gave us two pieces of paper: one with a list and order of documents to be organized and the other with some basic information to be filled. He instructed us, answered our questions about this part and explained that after filling and organizing everything he would call us one by one to check the documents. He was very nice during the process, asking if I was nervous and trying to calm people down.

Bom Dia!

My interview was scheduled for 9:20am. We got there at 8:50 because of the traffic, and rushed in.
I saw a sign outside saying immigration interviews were upstairs. I go in and I'm immediately in this full room with non-immigrant visa applicants that are lining up, and it's hard for me to make my way through them. Then I go looking for the stairs with my husband, when I hear "hey, you" I think "good, someone will help me" and the woman says "you can go back to your places now". That angered me so much, her tone was just like "children, this is no place to be wandering around". Instead of offering help and asking me what I'm looking for, that's what I get. I say "no, we don't have 'our places', we are looking for it." She starts to point back to the non-immigrant visa room and I interrupt by saying I was going to do the interview for an immigrant visa". "Oh... then it's through those stairs". Felt like yelling "THAT'S RIGHT. You *DIDN'T* know where we were going". javasc... read complete review

What helped us the most was organization of all needed documents, in the order according to the consulate e-mail. We also had the sealed medical package with us. We stayed in a hotel close to the consulate, and arrived there before 7:00 AM, our interview was scheduled for 7:20. There was a small line, outside.
We were formally dressed, me: withe silk blouse, light blue blazer and navy blue skirt; my husband: white shirt, navy blue with red stripes details tie, and black pants.
When the gate was open, we were guided to the mezzanine. "Alex" gave us a big and a small form to be filled up. I was the first to finish, so he called me to collect the original documents that we brought. Then he asked us to sit at the firs row of chairs. The consulate assistant called me, and went through the NVC copies and the our originals required documents. Glad that we have 2 originals and at least 2 copies of the documents. The assistant finally said that everything was ok, for the intervie... read complete review
