So here goes my review of my visa interview experience...or what I can remember.
I made it to the MLC centre about an hour before my interview. So I grabbed a coffee and sat outside until 8.30. I made my way up to level 10 and through to the security area. I checked my bags and waited for the elevator to the 59th floor. I made my way to the heavy door. And yes it is a bit heavy. Upon entering I took a number and waited to be be called to hand in my documents. This wait took about half an hour. It was pretty busy by the way. maybe about 6 or 7 other people waiting.
So I handed in my documents, had my fingerprints scanned and went and sat back down and waited to be called for my interview. There were 2 counters, one with a young gentleman and one with a younger lady. The one thing that I found strange though was everybody's interview can be heard by everyone waiting. It is all done over loudspeakers as the interviewers are behind glass.
So after sitti... read complete review

Hi All,
We are approved. yay I am sooo happy.
Well i reached sydney consulate at 9.30. I was staying at Menzis its only 400 mtr walk to the US consulate.
I reached and straight away went to the 10th floor. I told the security I am a bit early and a nice lady greeted me with a smile and said its always good to be early.
She asked for my photo Id and then I was told to put my bag for the xray scan.
After wards I was asked to take all my documents and leave all electronic items and bags behind. The security gave me the number to collect my bag on my return.
Within 10 seconds I was called and we went to the 59th Floor. My ears popped.
The guard outside asked me for my passport, checked it and i was told to enter the office.
I pushed the big heavy door and took a ticket number for my visa.
I was called within 35 minutes and a lady asked for my medical, passport. took my fingerprint... read complete review

Interview date - 29th November 2011 at 9am.
Left home about 5am to drive to Sydney (I\'m in Newcastle so luckily not too far away). Had a great run with traffic and in carpark by 7am.
I parked at the Queen Victoria Building Carpark (Wilsons Parking), it\'s expensive but close to Consulate and I forgot to research parking before I left. It cost me $47 for 2-3 hours parking. javascript:emoticon(\' \')
The consulate is about 3 blocks (5-8 minutes walk) from the carpark. We came out of the QVB on George Street, and because we got there so early, we stopped at Maccas about a block up near King Street for coffee and breakfast.
Walked up to the MLC building and got there about 7.30am. Went inside from the corner entrance (where the escalators are) and checked out the elevators. The one that went to the 10th floor was around to the left as you walk in to that entrance. There are chairs inside and out in the courtyard tha... read complete review

Then u get out of the lift and u go through security they look at your passport and tick off your name for the interveiw , then they take your bag and you have to switch off your mobile and keep it with them.
They give u a card number for your bag to pick up after the interveiw is finished. Then u wait on the chair till there ready to take u up on the lift to the 59th floor MY EARS POPED!! Ouch !
Once you get out of the lift there is a US consualte sign and a picture of OBAMA and a USA flag i loved seeing this!
