Well i reached sydney consulate at 9.30. I was staying at Menzis its only 400 mtr walk to the US consulate.
I reached and straight away went to the 10th floor. I told the security I am a bit early and a nice lady greeted me with a smile and said its always good to be early.
She asked for my photo Id and then I was told to put my bag for the xray scan.
After wards I was asked to take all my documents and leave all electronic items and bags behind. The security gave me the number to collect my bag on my return.
Within 10 seconds I was called and we went to the 59th Floor. My ears popped.
The guard outside asked me for my passport, checked it and i was told to enter the office.
I pushed the big heavy door and took a ticket number for my visa.
I was called within 35 minutes and a lady asked for my medical, passport. took my fingerprints and told me to wait when my number gets called for the interview.
She also asked me when was i planning to go to the US.
After this, I waited for another 15 minutes and was called up for the interview.
I got a nice young man who asked me these questions:-
1.) Name
2.) is this my first marriage
3.) is this my wife's first marriage
4.) any kids?
5.) any kids from previous relationships
6.) any kids from previous rel of my wife
7.) where did you meet her
8.) where did you get married?
9.) who came in the marriage
10.) why are you moving to the US
11.) pictures of my marriage
12.) did my wife meet my mother.
It was all fun he was very nice and he saw the pictures and we were laughing a lot cause i had an indian ceremony too as i was born in india.
After this he gave me a white sheet saying congrats your application has been approved. and i was soo happy.
He told me it will take atleast 5 working days but may take a lil bit more bec of the christmas holidays.
