My husband just got out of his interview at the Sydney office. Took about 2 hours total. The actual interview itself was super quick, only asked a couple questions " When did you meet?" "When did your wife move to Australia?" "How long have you been together?" "How did you meet?" "Who's your co-sponsor?"

Asked for rough dates. Was really easy for him. He overheard a couple people getting asked more in-depth questions, so I guess it depends on the person.

All in all really easy & simple. Be sure to bring the documents they ask for in the order they ask for. No need to bring supporting documents like letters or photos. They only wanted the documents they asked for.

My husband had a quick interview and the visa was approved that day. Passport returned with visa inserted 10 days later, and then he flew within the week to join me! Finally living together under the same roof again! :-)

I found the interview much easier than I had anticipated - mostly due to reading other people’s reviews. The lifts to level 10 are easy enough to find. The security process was fine. I showed up at 10.30am for my 11am interview and was let in. I was the only one going up in the lift so I didn’t have to race anyone out to get a ticket from the machine. I sat and waited until my number was called, went over and they collected my fingerprints, took my documents and told me to sit back down and listen for my number. I heard a few people denied for financial reasons while I was waiting, which was a little unsettling so I stopped listening to other people’s interviews. I was off in my own little world when I heard my name called and I didn’t hear which counter I was supposed to go to as I was expecting to hear my number called, not my name. I initially went to the wrong one, then they called my name again and I realised which one I was meant to go to. Embarrassing... read complete review

Very efficient document collation and security process on the 10th floor. Then up to take a number and wait. I have 2 children who were part of the application process. So we waited a little longer and watched other K1 applicants have their interview and leave. That was a little daunting but overall we were in and out in just under 2hrs.

The Immigration Officer was very efficient and professional. He asked all the questions you’d expect like when was the last time I had seen my fiancé in person etc. I was told to expect passports and visas within the 2 weeks.

All round great experience. Even the security were helpful & friendly (and there were plenty of those, even the elevators had security). So, elevator to tenth floor, follow the flags through to the other side of the building. Met security outside the office who made sure my phone was off, put it in a lockable satchel and handed back to me. I go through to desk where the checklist of documents were gone through, they were then all put into a plastic folder.
Then I went through what was exactly like airport security. Removed all placed in tray (including belt & watch) went through scanner. Then put everything back on and in pockets (wallet was examined because it showed metal inside, DUH).
No wait, straight to another elevator and another level. This is the interview office. Got number from machine and waited. Called to window where documents were thoroughly checked as to dates & validity then placed in purple folder. Told to sit.
Next called to window where the actu... read complete review
