I hope so! What I had with me last time in December (didn't have to show anything though) was a certificate of enrollment from my university, bank statements showing I could support myself, certificate of health insurance and that's it. That's what I'll bring this time too. I am living with my mother right now so I can't show a lease agreement but I am hoping that that will be enough in case they ask. I'm planning to wait on his bed too when he comes home from work
can't wait to see his face!
I sure hope you get the same reaction i did! If not better! I had such a hard time keeping it a secret. Lucky for me I had my mom and my best friend telling me not to give in. So for what its worth.....don't tell him heehee. Its sooo worth it to keep it a surprise even if you start to get nervous or overly excited!!

Randomness of the Dee Day:
My students are making their class site, and one of the pages contains an interview of each of their classmates:
Student 1 (16): Describe yourself in 20 years.
Student 2 (15): Marry me to Angelina Jolie.
Student 1: Dude, she'll be like a grandma, you sure?
Student 2: Oh... no, never mind. Marry me to a super sexy alien then.
Student 1: I don't know what's worse...
A couple minutes later:
Student 2: Why did you put me as: "Not married in 20 years? "
Student 1: I believe I'm doing you a favor my friend....
I don't know why but I couldn't stop laughing after hearing this. Student 2 is literally one of the most distracted and clueless students I've ever had, but he has a huge heart. I really do believe he ment it.
Dee.
Haha that's funny! Kids are cute! What age group are they?

Just wanted to share this with you my fellow January filers:
I just booked a ticket to go see Angelo in May for 10 days! It's gonna be a surprise visit, he won't know anything! He's coming here next week to Germany for two weeks and thinks we won't see each other for over 4 months after that, but I knew that was impossible for me so I found a good deal and just booked it!!!
I just hope it'll go smooth with Immigration, I'm going through JFK...so far I never had problems there but this time it's the first time that I'm crossing the border with a Visa application pending.
You will be ok! No worries! Just take some paperwork stating that you have connections back home. Any utility bills, university statements, etc. I've crossed the border 2 times and i've been good to go. I surprised Jay back in January! He cried once he gathered his barings, tears of joy that is. His mom helped hide my car and everything. Luckily he didn't make his bed that day so i was easily able to just "blend" in, under the sheets. Then i popped out and said "surprise". The look on his face was absolutely priceless and made it so very worth surprising him.

It's gonna be LEGEN-wait for it-DARY
Gosh, I watch American shows too much.
But seriously, I wish you luck, it would be great to see some approvals here. I wish anybody could do something to make Vermont work.
That is AWESOME!!! Greatest show ever!!

People. I've been meaning to ask for your advice / knowledge about something. The dreadful vaccines/shots!! <dun dun DUN>
So luckly and thanks to my beloved and awesome mother, I still have my vaccins table thingy where they say that I have ALL the shots but one... the HEP B one...
I was sick most of feb. and couldn't really start with the shots in time (takes 6 months to get the 3 total)
do you think it's going to be an issue if I have all of them except for that one? I've read that you need them all for the AOS, but not necessarily for the K1 medical... is this true???
Ill whole heartedly appreciate ur inputs!!
God Bless,
Diana
Hmmm.....i'm not sure if its a must have in the US but I do know my fiance had his when he was in school. In Canada we all got the Hep B shot too in High School.....or was it Hep A?!...pretty sure it was Hep B. Anyway, if its mandatory that we had to get the shots while we were in school I would assume that its a mandatory thing to have the immigrants receive it as well. Its good to have the shot anyways now a days.
I got my Hep A, followed by a booster shot 1 year later, before i went to Mexico last year.
I'm not sure what the dosage is over there but for the Hep B we receivd 1 shot then 6 months later we received a 2nd shot, then the 3rd shot (booster) is 1 year later. It could be different in your country though.
With all that said I would recommend getting the Hep B! You may want to check in to whether or not you can get your booster shots in the US or if you have to have the full Vaccine before moving to the US.

I have my own private little count down. Sorry I can't share yet what this is for yet, but this will be LEGENDARY!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the left side of the screen is a link that says:
From there, click on:
Register as an applicant customer
Then agree to the terms.
Fill out your information.
After you've done that, you'll have a login/password.
Login, and then add your case # to your portfolio.
Ok we are all set up now!! I had a "touch" yesterday!! WOOOOHOOOO
Thanks TwoCats!!!
-
Eh?
So, you go to this page: https://egov.uscis.g.../jsps/login.jsp
Enter your login and password.
You should see a page that looks like this:
I don't have a user name and login. All i got is my receipt number that starts with WAC. How did you guys get that?
-
carl24:
When you log in to your account and have your case registered in your portfolio...
You should see a field that says 'Last Updated (mm/dd/yyyy)'.
This is your last touch date.
I don't have that field
-
I checked to see if i can view my case on the website and I can officially log in. However, I don't see any where on the screen a "last touched" date.
-
So I think I'm the second person in this thread to add a NOA2....This is a NOA2 right?

I'm still a little in shock so I really hope I'm not reading this wrong.
WOW! That's exciting!!! Gives me a bit of hope that it is possible for some Canadians to get there's sooner. Did you do anything special to your package that you can think of that may have spead it up?

Hi Sandra n Matt & Carl 24
yes pls keep us posted. I am driving over to see my fiance this weekend...and flying over next month as well.. getting nervous about what they might ask
So I crossed no problem but driving back to Canada this morning the border guard asked me if Jay will be moving to Canada eventually. I did say no but I ended up telling him i'd be the one moving and we do have a K1 Visa application pending. He then asked me how that was going. As i was starting my car back up he started to plug away at the computer. If the US border guards didn't know about my application they will know now I assume.
-
Off to Montana for the weekend. I will also let you all know how crossing goes. Have a good weekend!!
-
Jason called USCIS to make sure they received my mailing address. While he was talking to them he asked about seeing our Status online. All the lady said to him was that everything is being processed as per usual and that some poeple can't see there status online for whatever reason. My thoughts.....useless chick! I'm going to wait and see, with the rest of you, if anything changes and then try emailing them rather than calling.

Happy Valentines Day to everyone
Sorry have been missing from this thread (ever since i joined actually!!)
But Im glad to see we have such a friendly bunch here!
Hope this journey goes smoothly for all of us!
I am in Canada and am planning to drive over to see him this weekend..
I was just reading your posts about visiting..lets say im driving over from Canada, ...do I HAVE to say that I am going to visit my fiance? i can just as well say I am visiting family friends..(which I will be doing as well) I doubt they would know if they look at just my passport? WHenever I drive to the US (before I got engaged) they just asked me where I am going..and for how long..so Im wondering..pls help!
When I drove across the other weekend i just said i was visiting my b/f. I would not say your family because if they look on the computer and see you have a k1 visa pending they will think you are trying to hide something. They can see you have a k1 pending. I would also take proof of having ties in Canada so that they will know you are coming back. I had my employer write up a letter of employment, if you have a lease agreement take a copy as well, and any bills that are in your name. However, don't give out any information unless you are asked. Hope that helps! I will also be crossing the border this weekend.

OK, so I know I am probably a little late on saying what I did for Valentines day...but I did not want the surprise found. At this point, most of the surprise she knows about...the other part she will shortly, so it is OK.
So, back in December I sent a package to her thinking it would get there before I left on January 9th. It did not and was part of Christmas...ughhh! Anyways, I learned from that and so when I got back, I quickly picked up and shipped to her part of her Valentines. I say part because, well I could not put all my eggs in one basket, or in this case package just in case it did not get there in time. So anyways, here is what was in the package.
I got her a heart filled with chocolates, as she loves chocolates. The heart looked kinda like a tear and was pretty cool. I got a picture frame that said "Love" on it, and put one of our pictures in it. Got a heart pillow and a blanket that had many great things on it, including "I love you", "Together 4ever", "XOXO", and many others. So I bundled it all together in a bow and wrote a letter that tied together everything I got for her. She received the package yesterday and was VERY surprised!!
Now, to MY SURPRISE, on Monday I received a package. I opened it and wow, she had got for me (well and for her to) a wedding ring holder, with love birds. Here is a picture of it from Amazon... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31t1I4mMtKL._SL500_AA300_.jpg Wow, was I surprised. Also I was surprised because she was off on Tuesday morning from work, and we normally do not get to video chat during the week, but were able too....VERY GREAT WEEK!!!
So, the last part of my surprise..is a video. I have been working on taking a English song that she loves and creating a video with our pictures during our time together. I plan on posting it later today so she has the weekend to enjoy it. Here it is for those that would like to see it.
Just think guys...last Valentines we will be away from our future spouse!!!!
That's a great video!!

Could my question above not have been written any worse?!! Sorry about that. Hope it makes sense to you as i can't go back and edit it anymore.

Does anyone know what the "A# (if any)" on the I-129F is for? Because it was right beside the "u.s. social security" question we assumed it just wanted any number from for the alien fiance. So we put my Social Insurance Number! What that correct? If not would they reject our application or request an RFE? Man I hate how complicated this whole process is. I find it so frustrating.

So, how about a topic to pass the time?
We're coming up on Valentine's day in a little over a week.
Anyone have any plans for v-day? If yes, share!
If not, how have you spent previous Valentine's?
I'll even be nice and start.
Kata's birthday is actually on Valentine's Day. I call it his 'Birthentine's Day' because I'm silly like that.
He's turning the big 2-5 this year, so I've taken to nicknaming him 'old man' (even though I turn 30 later this year, meep!). It's also because he fell asleep after Christmas dinner, and him and my father were both snoring in the living room while the rest of us were terribly amused.
Anyways, he's going up to Scotland to spend his birthday with his family, since I stole him for Christmas and New Years. They're combo-ing together all the holidays so he'll be doing Val-Christ-Birth-Year-ntines. He's promised me some Skype-time, though.
If I have time this week, I might try to work up an art piece for him (Did you know I did art? Cruddy cartoon art of cute fluffy animals, but still art. And no, I didn't do my sig picture or my icon.) Not sure if I'll have time, though.
Hmmm Valentines Day.....well me and a friend of mine are going to spend it together. She's going through a tough divorce right now so we've called it Idiot Day! She is going to come over and eat chocolate cake.....yes we sound like pigs!! Followed by doing a mini manicure and pedicure...WOAH real girlie i Know. Then you can't have a girls night without doing face masks
. I do Hot Stone Massages so i'll also give her one of those followed by watching a movie. Boys get your heads out of the gutter and there will be no pillow fights
Hopefully that will cheer her up on what seems to be a depressing time of year when you can't be with a loved one. It's better than having her sit at home though being all sad. Jay and I will do our Valentines on the 18th though because we'll be meeting in Montana for the weekend

Woooojoo!!!!
Way to go TwoCats!!!!! I'm losing inches, I'm really not taking a weight control cuz im doing a lot of weight lifting at the gym and they say muscle can take some of the weight too.
Im really really glad for you!!
I have been going to the gym for 2 years and even though i'm not "losing weight" on the scale, I've been losing inches just from lifting weights.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories. I am truly inpired by the long distance relationships and as of now, I'm in one too. Matt and I met on eharmony while both living in the same city. He was here for 2.5 years on a work visa and just moved back to the US today. We've been inseperable since our first date on March 14th. For our last dinner together (last night) we went back to the same place and it was quite busy. After waiting a while we were seated at exactly the same table as our first date (it's a big place). It made us smile and we had a great night. I had no idea how hard saying good bye would be but everything will be ok and the waiting will be worth it. I'm glad all of us are one day closer to being reunited!!
We met on Eharmony too!! Did you email them and tell them your engaged? We did and we got to pick 2 free gifts! But watch out when they ship it. Have them ship it to the States as we got dinged for Duty and Taxes. Or i should say I did!

My Story... Haha, There.com Jan 2010. LOL My avatar was sitting on a pixel log and this pixel avatar sat beside me
We started talking and became friends. I, for some reason, thought I wouldn't engage in any online dating and even went back to a dreadful exBF of mine... I couldn´t stop thinking of Chris... just couldn´t.. and to all fairness to every party involved I finished that relationship weeks after it re-started. Chris and I started talking more and more after that untill one day.. he catched me and I catched him. We found ourselves deeply inlove...and our online relationship started May 10th 2010. Speaking for at least 5 hours a day, not wanting to hang up skype... sleeping with our mics on, texting on yahoo while he was in class and I was at work... (we still do all that
). He came for the first time Sept. 2010 to spend my birthday with me just 20 days after he graduated (He couldn't wait, we couldn't wait). That was the only thing that kept him from coming earlier, his studies. He came back december, had our engagement dinner, finished off the papers and he sent them 2 days after going back to the USA. (See, that's why we didnt know about the fee changing... end of november and december I was focused on him coming and being here
) And so it is... to confirm what you have said. "When you know, you know..." Never have I, in my 25 years of existence, been so deeply inlove and felt so loved.
Sorry If I make it confusing sometimes, I think in spanish and write in english.
LOL
Diana!
BAHAHA we are all crazy!!!!
In all seriousness though, why waste time when you know they are "the one". We have our whole lives to get to know each other. Although I strongly feel long distance MAKES you learn to communicate. It also gets rid of the physical stuff that can make a person blind to a relationship.
Sorry in a dorky mood today.....think i had to much coffee!
-
Always nice to see we're not the only ones with a wirlwind romance... but then we may be a bit older than some of you (45/50) and know, after this much time, exactly what works.
True, when you know you just know. Congrats to you both!!!
I agree that experience/age does provide alot of help with knowing what your looking for. Yes, we are younger than some (26/31). For us we were both done with relationships. We had been in enough long term relationships, and many dates, that we got to the point where we knew what was important to us and what kind of person we were looking for. If we couldn't see ourselves working well with someone then we would move on. I think that what the biggest thing is, is knowing who you are and knowing what things you aren't willing to give up as a person. Then finding that person that fits with who you are.
-
I feel EXACTLY the same!! My bosses have agreed that i should be allowed anytime i want off to visit the US and have off when Ashey visits Engand, but i foind myself feeling a little lost as im kinda done.
Im not the osrt of person to sit back and wait for something at the best of times. When i know where my future lies i always go and grab it. Unfortunately the K1 process stops that. Ashley is the opposite and feels we should enjoy the next 6 months and make the most of having time with our friends and being able to save!! Before being together the rest of our lives
I guess shes right, but at the same time, shes not the one leaving heer career and having to start a new one in a diff country.
I TOTALLY get that!! Jason keeps telling me to enjoy my friends while I have the time with them. However, its hard to just sit back knowing you will be leaving EVERYTHING you have ever known! In some cases its the opposite as Jason would like me there ASAP and wants me to quit my job, but I keep telling him I need to work until we get my visa so I can save. I even moved home so that I could. I'm not going to be working for a bit so some savings would be nice to fall back on just in case. Never know what expenses come up when you move. I'm probably preaching to the choir though. So living with your parents, leaving your job, friends, country, ect. Hard to just sit on your #### and wait LOL

Its ok to share your excitement. We may not be able to live with our Fiance's a this time but we will be able to soon. We can ALL understand how excited you are! That's super awesome you finally get your own place. My fiance's mom and step-dad are living with him right now so i can sort of relate. His mom at least knows she will have to move out when i show up, but right now she's helping with expenses which is really nice. WOOOHOOOO you get your own place!!!!!
I moved back home wiht my parents so i could save some money so i totally get having your OWN Space! That soooo awesome!!!
