She asked me when I traveled outside the USA for the last time but I couldn't recall it immediately. Wanted to check my papers but she said that if it wasn't written on a post-it I shouldn't bother...

yes, but driving over an hour to the airport, flying from Denver to Los Angeles, driving again to the embassy and then the trip in the other direction is too much of a hassle. Even when it is every 10 year

No, you can read everything if you want. The only envelop you are not allowed to open is the one you get at the embassy after your interview

I waited 9 months after my biometrics, then I sent an email to my congressman and it was fixed in two weeks

I don't have a special degree, only went to school till 18. Was a bicycle mechanic in Belgium but here nobody uses a bicycle
As soon as I got my work permit (after a couple months in the USA) I went to Manpower, and started working in a factory the day after. It was minimum wage but I was earning something while looking for other jobs. I got a raise after a month being there.
After a couple months, my wife got a new job offer in a town 40 minutes from where we lived, so I had to look for a new job. Applied online with a staffing agency and started 2 days after in another factory. Better paid this time.
Conclusion: If you're not picky, it isn't hard to find a job. Better to do something basic while looking for a better job I guess
I applied for jobs online in the retail sector as well, but never got a reply from those companies. I think a lot of them put adds online, even when they don't need people. Best thing is going to a staffing agency.

Still waiting here, glad I asked for that EAD/AP card because I'm going on a holiday in Belgium soon
But at least I'm waiting on the right side of the ocean this time

Still no greencard here ... I planned a trip to Belgium in June, if I don't have my greencard by then, is the EAD/AP card good enough to go in and out the country ?

Any November filers still waiting for green card? We filed 11/25, completed biometrics 12/20, EAD approved and sent 1/27 and since then there have been no updates, I-485 is still in initial review. Anyone else have an AOS at the California service center?
