  1. Better to screw someone else...right? Of course.
...and that's just it - it's OK to screw people, as long as you're not one of them.

The people who are all for "redistributing the wealth" would be singing a different tune if it were their wealth being talked about.

Go up to the average home owner and tell him that he has to give half his property to a homeless guy and see what he thinks about redistributing his wealth.

But as long as it is "the rich" - well, hell, go for it.

People making nothing think everyone else is rich.

People making $25K/year think anyone making over $50K/year is rich.

People making $50K/year think anyone making over $100K/year is rich.

There is no concept at all between the effort one has to put out to make that money, the sacrifices one may have had to endure before finally making that money, or anything else.

Overall, it's just a bunch of bullshit.

  2. Isn't that strange - I had the very same conversation with Tanya months ago in the event that McCain had won, only I am the one who suggested the move. I guess we are at odds over who we think is going to spend all of our money. I went with history and you go on speculation. My guess would be that her take on the future of having Obama as our president has a lot to do with your input on the subject.
Actually, I never said a word about either candidate. She reads the news constantly. She figured it out all by herself.

I am not worried about the government taking my "wealth"; I am worried about being bled dry at the pumps
Not me. The amount of money I spent on gas is completely within my control. As the price goes up, I buy less gas.

    , and increased utility prices
I haven't seen any huge increase in my insurance prices. As for utilities, This one kind of bothers me - but I can cut back on spending on other things to pay for it....unless the government takes all my money.

I am worried about how we are going to pay for the expenditures of the past few years by our current administration and the idea that the debt can be paid off by cutting taxes. Hocus Pocus business model if you ask me (reminds me of Voodoo Economics).
Government disallows taking money from new investors to pay off old ones, it's called a Ponzai scheme. But when the government does it, it's called Social Security.

Spending will have to be cut or taxes raised to recover what was lost, maybe both.
I am ALL FOR cutting spending. Start with eliminating entire divisions of government. Department of Education would be a good start. Also, get rid or 4 or 5 government agencies associated with law enforcement? How many do we ###### need??

That is reality. For me it was all about continuing down the same road or taking a stand and changing business as usual. With that in mind, I cast my vote. Blame me in 4 years if you still feel the need but I am waiting awhile before I admit making a mistake or not.
You make it sound like an"either/or" decision.

What I find most amazing are the folks who still proudly display their George II stickers on their cars. Those are the ones who just have no contact with reality.
Not sure what that has to do with anything, but OK. I'm not a GWB fan any more than I'm an BHO or McCain fan.

Even Gary finally admitted to being duped by W and his gang. While I admire him for the admission, it should have come years ago when things really started getting wonky.
    Gary who?

Now, before he has even taken office, there are those who speak of the doom and gloom of Obama's presidency and the economic hardships which are sure to come.
So what? I was speaking of the doom and gloom of a McCain presidency too.

p.s. Russia is no longer communist.

    Um, yes, I know.

  3. Even in 1911 the FED wasn't what it was today and each state still had a lot of power. Today, the system established by the Constitution has outgrown it's usefulness because of it's sheer size. The federal government of today was not what the founding fathers drew up. It's a combination of what's become after years and years of electing the lesser of two evils.
Um, no. The system established by the Constitution is about the same. The system established OUTSIDE the constitution is what has grown in size. The solution is to reduce government to its constitutional mandate, not simply ignore the constitution.

Many dictators throughout history have, at one time, determined that their country's constitution has outgrown its usefulness.

  4. At the very least they should make anyone who wants to throw stones at these poor women swear on the Quran and to God that they have never commited any kind of fornification including looking at a woman in a lustful way.
Just get some gay guys to stone her ###.....
If their gay then their most likely still guilty of fornification and some other sins.
True, but they will not have looked at women in a lustful way.

I don't know if I've ever heard of anyone being punished for being gay over there though.
They get a rather painful form of "head job"

  6. Hope she hasn't benefited from "spreading the wealth", i.e you never cashed one of those checks. She just might not look very smart complaining. :P
    Actually, they direct deposit.

For 2007, we gave government about $22,000 more than we received back.

I'd be more than happy to decline the small amount of the PFD in exchange for keeping the money we paid in.

  7. And to top it off.. None of the men accused of rape were arrested, Amnesty International said.
Well gee, maybe they didn't do it!! I know this is hard to believe, but not everyone who is accused of something actually do it. Many times, there is not enough (or any) evidence to make an arrest.

I was once accused of arson - and I had nothing to do with it. Had I been arrested merely on accusation, with a complete lack of evidence, that would have really sucked.

  8. (CNN) — A 13-year-old girl accused of adultery was stoned to death last month in a soccer stadium in Somalia, witnesses told CNN.
Soccer is clearly a dangerous sport and must be banned!! In the meantime, we need government regulation and oversight of this game, and no one under 18 years old must be permitted to participate or attend this dangerous, violent sport.
  9. The best way to shut her up is to cash the free oil check you Alaskans get ($3,000+ this year?) for doing nothing, and send her off to Victoria's Secret. Two issues, one stone.
Actually, it's only $2000, and we do not have a Victoria Secret. FWIW, they government collects a lot more from us than the pissant amont it it gives back via the PFD.
  10. i'm facing the possibility of not being able to afford the medical treatment i require.
There's a lot of things in life I can't afford. There will be even less if my taxes go up.

ahh i c interesting.. i think we should start a thread of the vj'ers typing dexterity, if they use all their fingers to type, or just the index and middle finger
When replying to some posts, I just use the middle finger. For most others, I use all the fingers on my left hand, and three of the ones on my right hand.

FWIW, I've had hand surgery on both hands, to repair broken bones and knife wounds. My right hand has seen some damage, giving even less dexterity than it would otherwise have.

  11. ahhh well if u use the last finger on the right hand, u can press enter without doing a motion at all :)
    But I don't.

I'm left-handed - I don't have that much dexterity in my right hand.

  12. for example with healthcare.
well, if the government takes all our money, we will not have any.

why do u make the smilies the other way?? (: instead of :)
It's just a more natural way to do it. Hold the shift key down with the left hand - then the right hand finds the ( then the : then the <return> key as it sweeps from left to right. If you make it the other way, the right hand has to switch direction mid-flight.
  13. Well, my hubby(the Greencard Holder) his 40th b-day is coming up....any suggestions!? thanks!
Take him to a strip club, get him a lap dance or two, give him one of those "on stage strip performances" (where they tie you down, get 5 or 6 girls and have them dance on you, strip just inches away, etc.), then take him home, provide oral sex, and ball his brains out. He'll love you forever.
  14. So, my sweetie and I had a pretty interesting discussion last night. She was going on and on about how she doesn't understand why people in this country voted for BHO, or why they support socialism or the "share the wealth" concept. She spoke at length about having "been there, done that" and how crappy that system is and so on and so on (and she was talking purely about economic and property issues, not political or human rights issues). She is very worried about the U.S. economy, even more so now that we have BHO. So, she says that if things get too bad here and the government wants to take what little wealth we have, she doesn't mind if we move back to Russia.

I just thought it was funny that a foreigner from a communist country gets it - while many of those who were born and raised here do not (:

  15. As much as I hate Bush - I don't think you can blame him for it when a democratic congress approved it before it ever landed on his desk.

That said, I think it's more than obvious that he has been systematically screwing the American public. However, to be fair, I think BHO is about to do the same thing.
