6 months and 3 days.
Wow! Congrats!
Thank you.
I'm pretty convinced that what did it for us is getting our congressman's people to call CSC and get them to pull the file and process it. I've been out of the VJ loop now for almost two weeks. How have things been going?

I'm in China right now which is why I was delayed in posting this... but...
WE FINALLY GOT NOA2!!!

Am I alone in feeling like they're bragging and rubbing salt in some pretty painful wounds?
It's nice that they got approved so quickly. Bully for them. But to post a thread dedicated to calling out that they got approved in 8 days when they have to down that there are people who have waited 10.. 20.. 30 times that long... just seems... wrong.

I admit I'm trying to come up with a response that is nice.. kind.. and congratulatory...
*Looks at 174 day timer*
....
I've got nothing nice to say...

A VJer with a 7/11 NOA1 date reported getting their NOA2 today. I'm thinking 2 more weeks for those of us in the late July time frame. I also read a post that said someone called the USCIS and was told they were working petitions around that same date, so there is more hope now than the past month or so.
USCIS told me still 16June on Tuesday. I believe that other post was in error.

My husband call on Jan 12 to make a change of address and to see if expedite request qualified
for that lost his job and that affects us economically because I depend on the money that he sent me every 2 weeks,
and the agent told him '' yes, you qualified for expedite request by Severe financial loss to company or individual'', the agent made him a few questions and after the question, the agente say ''In 5 to 8 days you will be getting an answer by mail''.
6 days after the expedite request, noa2 email arrives! in both cases!!!
The last update was on January 17th! I'm very happy!

Thanks for the information and again congratulations.
Unfortunately, it means us other late July petitioners are still probably in for the long wait...
Day 174 of no action...

OMG!!!!
APPROVED TODAY!!!!! IN BOTH CASES!!!!! 174 DAYS!!!
I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!
THANKS LORD!!!!
Congratulations
Were you expedited? And did your Last Updated date change on the USCIS website?
-
I did contact my congressman, but all he did was checking the status and said "just wait, your time will come, and I'll check back with you later."
It would be useful to others if you would fill in more of your profile. In particular, what country your spouse is from.

transferring to another center, is that good or bad?
Well, the last time they tried that they ended up 'losing' a bunch for a long time until they finally sent them back to CSC. So, not good.
-
How did your Rep call CSC... Did they call USCIS first and were transferred or... what's the number for CSC?... I'm making a letter for my congressman (there is no telephone number apparently).
They should have a phone number. You'd find it on their website usually under a heading similar to needing help with federal agencies and the like. As to what number he called, no idea. It was all done as a back end process, know what I mean?
-
My wife received this today and she had requested it on Jan 3 and this paper was dated Jan 11. What does this entail? We will be expedited or we have to wait?
Hard to say. I would guess it means "we got your service request.. and don't care". Call them again and pester them more?
-
Just got off the phone with my Representative who just got off the phone with CSC. I was told that I might be processed by the end of the week... we shall see what happens soon.
So your case was being worked on already when the Rep called? Or it's going to be worked on now that the service request is in? Or you don't know? And sorry I'm horrible with this quoting stuff so far (I'll get the hang of it).
Not sure. I doubt it. I suspect strings were pulled or something of that nature. My Rep's person told me that the CSC person told him he'd request to have the file pulled. That implies to me that no one was actually working on it and it is probably still stuck in a huge stack somewhere.
Honestly, I'll be shocked if it really is finished by the end of the week. Either way, it's nice to just get some kind of action out of someone instead of just endless run around.
-
Hammer your Senators and Representatives...
Call them every other day.. if no action.. call every single day.
Will it fix it? Maybe.. maybe not.. Will it hurt? Nope. Might even remind CSC that there are people paying attention...

Lol, in my effort to get a service request I told them about the June 16th date that they keep giving us and how they've been using that for sooo long.... I also explained that I know another petitioner with a similar priority date (July 29th as opposed to my July 13th) who received a service request... So I was like "out of fairness... blah, blah, blah"... They ain't havin' none of it! Looks like I'll be waiting FOREVER.
I suggest you start hammering your Senators and Representatives

08/03/2011 last touched.
4August2011 here.

If so that means NOTHING to us! 176 days pending initial review!!!!! I hope they understand how cruel they are by separating us from our loved ones fort long segments of time! I even will most likely undergo lengthy AP after this because I am Pakistani. I wish that I could just have my wife come live here with me. I am about to give up altogether and just plan to move my family to another country here after awhile. Did any of you file a service request for a case status inquiry? My wife did on Dec 27 and they misplaced it. Then on Jan 3 she did and they still have never fulfilled the request. What is this CSC Stats this paisaman has created on here? Is there any truth to the data on these charts he has come up with? If so, it appears we are still in for a LONG haul!!!!! Also, the person who had the insider stated that we are still in storage if our cases are from July 15-August 5.
As to Paisaman's data and method, it seems a sound process and is probably as accurate as anything can be from the outside looking in.
As to all petitions 15July - 5August, that would tend to explain why there have hardly been no approvals for July in general, post-mid July in particular. However, there are some outliers that spoil that pattern. They could be explained as being in certain special classes. Military, expedites, that sort of thing.
I finally was able to get them to put in a service request. I was told that in 15 days if I hear nothing to email them. Needless to say, if I haven't heard anything by 1100 on 1February I'll start screaming bloody murder. If your wife is the USC, she should be doing the same thing as well. This is the government we're talking about and they often won't do a thing until they're pushed and pushed and pushed. Senators and Reps should be engaged as well but they have to be kept on top of as well. No one cares about this process like you and she do. So, for better or for worse, we in the position have to keep hammering them until they do their job.

***This is a cross post from another thread***
Holy #######!!
I actually got a lady who cared and put in a service request '16June' or no '16June'!
Who knows what will come of it.. she said that if I don't hear anything in 15 days to email back at a given address. It may result in nothing more than 'Wait your turn', but at least she didn't just blow me off.
For future reference, her name was Rosa and her BadgeID number was G674402.
I don't know if you can request to speak to a particular person when you can, but if you can, asking for her would probably help.
With that in mind, anyone who is at or beyond 5 months, call immediately. Maybe there is some small chance we can wake CSC up?
-
what the hell is going on? This is utterly unacceptable and someone must be held accountable. These are peoples' lives here in their hands. I do not know what to do, but we all can think of something together to get this process rolling. I am not going to just sit here and take this like nothing happened.
You're at 5 months today. Give USCIS a call. They may not do much since you're just over 5 months today, but it can't hurt. Be persistent. I think one of the reasons that Rosa decided to act for me, in addition to getting close to 6 months, is I explained the situation to her and mentioned that I've been calling now for a long time and just getting the run around.
-
Awesome, thank you for the update.
173 days and waiting......We both actually have the same NOA1 date, 07/29/2011.
Give them a call
See if you can ask for Rosa with the badge number I gave above.
What is your last update date on the website (touch)?

$20.75 on June 16.
LoL.. You 'Win!' More to follow though...
-
On the phone with USCIS now...
Taking bets... 16June still? What do you guys think?
-
According to the scans of random WAC #'s nobody is approved yet with our same NOA1 date. This is scaring me! I saw some approved back in Oct and Nov but I am willing to bet you they are expedites or military cases.
Based on Igor's list, there have been zero new approved I130s for July filers for the last week. Two were approved that day. Prior to that, the last approval for a July filer was a month ago in mid-December. Based on the evidence at hand, CSC has stopped working on July petitions... again
