Doesn't really matter which month you join. Depends on whether you want to lead with your information in February or follow in January. :-)
When you get your NOA in the mail, it'll have a case number on it that you can use to access your online account to turn on the updates. You'd have to do this even if you had filed the form as the form is only used for updates related to the initial receipt of your application. So you haven't missed much.
Thank you

Hi everybody!
Wow! I have not been here in a long time! Not sure if I should join the January or February thread.
I mailed my packet on 1/30. Arizona lockbox. Kansas City MO office
I have been eligible since Jan/ Feb 2014. Why have I not filed? Life got in the way! And given everything going on, it was not just a priority until now
Ok! so obviously I am a little rusty, but I forgot to sent the G-1145 to have enotifications/texts. Anybody knows how I can sign up for that? I suppose i will have to wait for my first NOA. will it be possible then?
Thanks

Card came in the mail today! yay!
Best wishes to those still waiting

Thanks. Yes, beats me too, but oh well!
Really wish you the best and here is to hoping for a smooth ride with no RFE or any other bump on the road!

We have had a very similar experience, although ours has been for a lot longer than yours.
We had our interview in August last year, the IO said pretty much the same but he kept telling us that we should be recieving the GC in 5-6 weeks "if all is OK", he was also running behind that day and was feeling under the weather.
6 weeks to the day we got an RFE for proof of continuing relationship, we sent more joint bills, affidavits from friends and family.
Still no response so we called uscis in Jan and spoke to a 2nd tier person, they submitted a service request which he said meant that we would either recieve a decision within 2 weeks or an explanation about when we would recieve a decision. 3 weeks later we got a letter stating that our case required further processing and that if we didn't hear anything within 6 months then we are to phone again....
Oh, and no updates at all on uscis internet site since Sept, not even to say we had or that they recieved the RFE.
Any updates??

I am celebrating 4 weeks of useless waiting.
Just checking on you there to see if you have any updates

I too am in a similar situation. Went for my interview April 12,2011. IO interviewed my husband then myself I was told my interview is set for approval I will get letter in the mail 4-6wks. She also gave me a paper with a check mark in where it says application recommended for approval. My husband and myself left the interview feeling happy. The wierdest thing happened the day after the interview we got a letter in the mail that was noted April 11th that was a day before interview stating we needed to provide additional evidence of marriage we should submit by May 11th and we should take copies to the interview. At the interview IO didnt ask me for anything, the notice further went on to say we should take copies of these to our interview on August 20, 2010 ,and I literally mean August of last year. I called Uscis they didnt see such letter in thesystem. Well it came from the local field office. I am so lost.
I don't know if you got any help for this or if the situation is resolved, but if not I would suggest to start another topic, that way you can get more input and maybe valuable advice from all the knowledgeable folks on this forum. I personally would make an info pass since this might be time sensitive
I see that you posted in the General immigration forum, try starting a new topic in this forum, since you didn't get any answer. Hopefully this is resolved by now

Today I received email saying that Card production !!! Does it mean I will receive it soon ???
Whooohoo!!!!
Finally so happy and relieved for you!!! Congratulations !
I got 3 emails and texts on different days, the last one being the post decision activity. But from the first one I got, my letter came the next day, and the card itself 9 days later
Congrats again

Harsh_77: probably you are right, but we'll print those two forms out and send those new ones.
Fehervirag: I was going to translate the certificate myself, but I would appreciate if you sent me the form (my e-mail address is andisz83@hotmail.com). (I will also try to see if I can find it online.)
Thank you!!!
I don't know how your BC looks, but mine is in French and every line has an English translation, so I sent it without any translation, got an RFE ( although I know other people on this forum and around me that had no problem doing that). Anyway, the IO told me during the interview that it was a mistake on their part because the person sorting through the papers did not pay attention and that what I could do to avoid that is make 2 copies, highlighting the English translation on one of them.
Also just to be on the sdafe side, I would have a friend or family member translate that if I was you, because although a lot of people translate themselves and provide certification, if your IO is like the one that looked at my case, she said that if something needs to be translated it has to be someone other than you. Again some IOs won't mind others would. So just to be on the safe side and avoid possible RFE, I would have someone else do the translation
Best Wishes

Thank you! According to my husband I haven't stop smiling since we got the news! lol!

I don't think they reviewed my application before the interview because from the way she looked at my forms during the interview, it seemed like she just got my application and even didn't know i made mistake on I-864. That is the reason why we gave the amended I-864 to her at the interview. So I guess it pretty much depends on local office and officer who interviews you.
@Snookie: Don't be nervous at your interview, sleep enough before that day. We were so nervous that we messed up. Also, we stayed up so late that we were kinda tired the day after =.=. Good luck to you !!
@bbutterfly: We're on the same boat. I Pray for both of us !
Latest update is that We got the approval letter in the mail yesterday together with the Welcome to the USA letter

Beyond excited!
How is it going with the whole RFE deal?
Thanks guys for the support!

Don't know what happened to my answer!
Anyway, I had no problem using my EAD. If you are still going through this process 90 days before the expiration of your EAD, you just have to sent another application and from what I have read, they will automatically renew it
Now with the e-verify system, the employers( and depending on which state you live in, you can also do a self check in Everify)just put your A number and it will confirm it, and more and more employers are using Everify
That being said, here is to hoping that you won't get to that point.

In your case, you should at least give it another 2 weeks. I think 3 weeks is a general average time to wait. By then your card or at least the approval letter should be made and in the mail.
I never showed my passport either. The first thing he asked was for my I-94 card. He took it and wrote with RED pen on it. I am upset that I did not question him on that. He should have explained his actions. He did not say anything. At least your IO explained some things in detail.
Yup! I think I was harder because I had not come across a similar situation recently and all I could do was fill my head with a lot of questions. Now that I know it is not that uncommon, although not pleasant at all, I am just going to try to keep busy with other things. I start a new job nest week and have exams at school, with that and family life, that should help keep my mind off this whole thing for a little bit and hopefully I will get a nice surprise
Please keep us updated about your case and best wishes

Although is a little comforting to know that there are others in the same boat, I have to say that it is sad that we are going through this, and even worse, that no one so far has figured out the formula, to handle this
@jj789
My interview is not in LA, and I did not receive a letter stating that I could make an info pass after 30 days if I didn't hear from them. When my husband asked the IO how long it will take for us to have an answer she said, if after 180 days you haven't heard anything then try and contact us. But it shouldn't take me that long to get back to you, you will receive a decision or request for more documents, if something is missing very shortly in the mail
@HighMaintenance
I remember reading your post when you first posted here. But to me the fact that you had sign the paper explaining the ROC and the IO took your I94, meant a done deal. I am surprised and so sorry that you are still going through this, especially given the fact that you filed so long ago. I really you hear back from them
The IO did not ask to see my passport, needless to say that I still have the I20. Din't ask for the marriage certificate, the EAD, none of the things they had listed on the Interview letter.
Let's see if this week brings some relief for some, if not all of us

Hey bbutterfly, just so you know that you should wait 30 days after your interview to make infopass because if they don't still have decision at that time, you will have to wait 3 months to have another infopass. I just received RFE after 10 days from my interview. So just wait to see anything coming until after 30 days. I'll be rooting for you.
Thanks Tina
I didn't know the rule about having to wait 3 months after the first info pass to have another one . That tells me I will have to wait a little bit longer to get to that resort.
What really bothers me is that she didn't implied there was a problem, but yet we don't know where we stand. I know getting an RFE is not the best case scenario but at least you know someone looked back on your file after your interview and it is not just forgotten or something like that!!
Hopefully I will hear something before 30 days and not have to resort to the whole infopass deal!!

We have had a very similar experience, although ours has been for a lot longer than yours.
We had our interview in August last year, the IO said pretty much the same but he kept telling us that we should be recieving the GC in 5-6 weeks "if all is OK", he was also running behind that day and was feeling under the weather.

Wow! that is a long time. I can't even imagine how stressful and confusing this can be. I really hope you hear something from them very soon
I am not very familiar with how this work, but I read often on this forum and other forums that you can get your congressman involved? Have you tried that? Or you think it is not time yet.
All my best wishes to you and please keep us updated
I also wonder if there is something to do to avoid getting to that point. Like someone suggested earlier calling them every week? Don't know if it would make a difference but it sure doesn't hurt to try
-
sorry, had a brain fart about ROC, nevermind.
But- do call USCIS hotline one a week - inquire for casefile status.
USE THE TELEPHONE.
Thanks for the input.
-
ROC? Call USCIS hotline every week, ask for casefile status.
GOOD LUCK !
I am about to update my timeline. Yes she explained the whole process of Removing Condition when the time comes and said we will see instruction on the welcome letter and to keep that letter because they won't send a reminder
