Good luck to you too. I am just tired of feeling like i had cried all day long.
haha, i get you, i'm more of pissed about it, i can't sleep well kept thinking about this long awaited NOA2, i would even dreamt of it often. It causing me much stress really. Well, i guess we just have to keep the hopes up and wait, wait, wait, wait, and more wait. I just hope it ends soon!

You know this website has been the most helpful thing through this process... being able to see and predict when the others were approved. I didn't get touched once except for in the beginning a few days after the official NOA1. Otherwise, just watching Igor's list and also the K1 Visa Timelines gave be a clear idea.
I had a feeling when I was chatting earlier today and some of the other folks were getting approved.
Yeah, seeing other people applications approved gives me hope, i can more or less approximate when will they approve mine granting that it will not go beyond 5 mos of waiting. Congratulations to you!
Oh btw, when did u have your NOA1? Thanks much!
-
Hi, I am in the same boat with you on my I-129F. My five month waiting deadline is December 17th!
Hi there! yeah, we have the same schedule, i just hope they approve it at the end of this month, i think they have processed and approved those NOA1 received as of July 12, 2010, hope ours is next in line. They won't really work on it until it's been 5 mos sitting on the shelf. Oh God, i'm running out of patience. Goodluck!
-
I gained weight because of it... lol
haha...oh yeah?
i lost 5 kilos in a months time, i kept on thinking about it, if will i receive it, i just can't wait to be with him, but the CSC is killing me. I just hope they will be more considerate enough to work on it.
-
ofc is it, you are waiting for the rest of your life to start
just try to focus on work/family and keep busy, the time goes so much faster when you keep yourself occupied
i'm trying to get myself busy but at the end of the day the NOA2 is always at the back of my mind, waiting for it gives me a lot of stress, i dropped my weight cos of it. I hope i won't lose interest on it though.

same here, Dec 17 will be my 5 mos of waiting....... i wonder if it will ever be approve, sometimes waiting is really the hardest thing to do.
-
here's a handy timeline for you to look at, helps me stay sane realizing that they are actually approving something (even though the last 5 approved were AFTER my noa1 date, lol)

Thank you so much for that Kristy! I felt a bit of relief, too bad for me, they have only approved until July 14, 2010 (NOA1) mine is July 17,2010..3 days after. haha. Btw, when did u have your NOA1?
Thanks again! Hope our case is next in line.

just curious, anyone here knows how many "touches" should a case undergo before it can be finally approve by the USCIS? thanks much!
-
Your petition will sit on a shelf until it is opened. It will be approved in about 20 minutes if everything is there. The rest of the time you are waiting your turn. The background check if it is "clear" takes about 30 seconds. It is all computerized. "touches" usually indicate the petition being moved from one pile to another.
USCIS does nothing to determine the "legitimacy of the relationship" at the petition phase. It is not part of the petition process. Any "evidence of relationship" you included will be put to the back of the file and basically ignored. They determine marital status by the papers you submit. If everything is there you will be approved in 15-20 minutes from the time they open the file. Adjudicators typically process 20-24 cases per 10 hour day...minus an hour for lunch.
We have friends who work as adjudicators and supervisors at VSC. Read the pinned topic at the top of the K-1 forum for a detailed description of exactly how a petition is handled.
Thanks for the wonderful info, well the things i said was just my idea on how they conduct the initial review cos it's taking them too long, i mean 5 mos? I think the Vermont Service Center is more efficient than the CSC, that's why they can get more applications approved. I don't really think they process it according to the dates they received it, some applications belatedly filed were approved earlier than my case. It's a matter of being "lucky" so one's case will be worked on first compared to the others, it's just so disappointing. I understand why some couples just decides to just cancel the application or they lose interest on it because of the inefficient process. This December will mark the 5mos of the processing time of my case, i just don't know if my case will be ever touch again.
Thanks again.

congrats to all who got their NOA2! your waiting finally ended. As for me, NOA1 is JULY 17,2010, the first and the last time the USCIS touched on my case was JULY 26, 2010. It's been 4 mos since the NOA1 but i'm still waiting in vain, from Aug-Nov, they never worked on my case, guess I need a miracle so i can make the USCIS people work on my case again...(sighs) I just hope God touches those people so that they will touch my case again
-
just want to share, i sign up an account at the uscis website and i was able to know that they last "touched" my case JULY 26, 2010, but they received it JULY 17, 2010. Wow... august until november, 4 mos "idle" time of me waiting for the NOA2 only to find out it is as yet far from reality
I need a miracle so i can get the uscis people to finally touch it again

Your fiancé is correct. The I-129f is just the petition to file a visa, you don't need the I-134 Affidavit of Support until the actual visa interview at the foreign US consulate.
thank you!
btw, how long did it take you guys before you got the NOA2? just curious, been waiting for 4 mos and 5 days now, and our case is still in the "Initial Review" sometimes i wonder if it will ever change, haha..,it's been like forever. Thanks again!
-
hi everyone! when should this be affidavit of support be filed? my fiance didn't include this in our I-129f application because it the instructions in filling up that form didn't require that it should be submitted together with it. But we have yet to receive any notice from the USCIS too that we need to submit it/and or any additional documents they need so i presume my fiance did it correctly. I think the said affidavit will be material on the interview at the US Consulate int he host country, although not really sure about this. Please share your views and experience. I would be glad to hear it. Thanks much!

.. Congrats to Sheenaspapi!
oops sorry misunderstood it....thought you got your NOA2 already..
were the same mine is July 17, 2010, it's been 4 mos already but i've yet to hear any news about the NOA2. Hopefully we will get it before Christmas. Pray while waiting...we just need to have the "luck".

same here
.. Congrats to Sheenaspapi!

Hello!! =) haha nakakatuwa naman reply mo, thanks. masyado kasing serious dito it's a breath of fresh air to get to read your reply. thanks again. oo nga super patient talaga lalo na i'm pregnant! it's really hard to do the pregnancy w/o your partner literally beside you. buti nalang, he's working real hard just to support us and his pay is good. this is our decision rin kasi. we didn't want our parents to support us financially. tho they are there also for us. we're blessed nga in this situation yung process lang talaga of waiting for the visa! =| Anyway, good luck on your case!! 4 months? when did you guys file like august? kahit ata september ka nag file this year, wala parin noa2. may nabasa ako somewhere na post ng sept 2010 filers wala pa nakakakuha ng noa2. oh well. =|
Haha! Alam mo trip ko ngang magreply in pure Filipino eh pero i was thinking hindi makakarelate yung iba..well problema na nila yun..hehe. Honestly, waiting for the NOA2 is getting into my nerves already after waiting for 4 mos now, by Dec 17 it will mark the 5 mos processing time already by the uscis, hay naku ha!
We filed our case July 17 of this year, so it's 4 mos already cos i have to exclude the first month when they receive it (July). From all the blogs, videos i have read and watched some of them only took it 3 mos to get their NOA2, that's why im so pissed waiting (malapit na nga ko maghurumentado eh! haha) Eh ito laban ka meron pang 15mos of waiting only to find out there their case folder was missing..great right?!
Kaloka noh? naku sarap mang away pero hindi pwede at baka lalong patagalin..hehe..
Congrats on the baby!
Me too i wanted to work here, but the timing isn't really good this time if i get my visa hopefully January next year, i need to quit working too, and i will only have worked for a month, i don't think that would be a good work experience at all. Kalurky girl..haha! Just smile then keep on praying and hoping, don't get yourself stressed with the K1 visa, ang baby mo masstress din sige ka..hehe!
Good luck to us! patience..patience..and more patience..

pretty close to accurate actually
yeah, that's what i really feel if the uscis is even working on it on those "idle" months, i mean checking the background of the applicant/petitioner would mainly consists of checking the criminal history, marital status, determining the legitimacy of the relationship, etc. i think it can be done in two months or so if they are really working on it but i just don't get it what's taking them too long unless of course it's an exceptional case then i would understand. Oh well, can't really do anything about it other than getting pissed. I just hope to received the good news this Christmas.
-
One last thing... Why does it say that they received on November 5, 2010, the l-1296 PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) when we filed it last September?
Neng, try to check it with the uscis if they really received your case on that date, cos i was just thinking, that's two months tardy already from the date you have filed it which is September, it might be just a typographical error on their part or it could also be that there was a delay on the transmission of your petition to the uscis, in any case it is best to call them to confirm it, sayang din ang two months of waiting noh?!
-
..So I made an account for case updates right (when was it last touched..) and before that I checked for our case status using our receipt number from NOA1. So far, we're only on the second circle which is "Initial Review". and this is what it said:
"On November 5, 2010, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."
Anton, (my fiance) filed for our K-1 visa September this year (Vermont Service Center) So I was wondering, how far along are we? What decision are they talking about? - for NOA2? There are many stages and sometimes it can be overwhelming. Would appreciate any insights. Thanks.
Rica
Hi Rica! naku neng, you still have a long way to go, my case is already 4 months and it's still on the initial review (badtrip diba? kakaimbiyerna talaga!) although the uscis site says it will take 5 mos to process it, i doubt it, my friend said it takes longer than that. Sometimes i wonder if they are really working on it on those months that the case is still on the initial review. Hay naku, guess waiting for the NOA2 is the hardest way to learn patience. But we should never stop praying while waiting..hehe..pampalubag loob. Enormous patience...that's what i always tell myself at super kinukulit ko si Lord that we might receive it before this Christmas. I instructed my fiance though, to call the uscis at the end of the month just to check what's going on with our case because i fear that it's just sitting on shelf for quite sometime now.
Good luck girl, habaan pa ang pisi. hehe.
