  1. I'm from Denver, just starting to settle here, and kinda hard to look for work really for my field. I usually try to find work using www.indeed.com or you can also sign up to www.connectingcolorado.com and they will alert you for the postings you sign up for. There's also www.usajobs.gov but on this site are federal jobs which requires citizenship.

I am hoping to like it there so we don't need to move again.

    Good luck!

    *like it HERE

  2. "What's that? my post as illegitimate? hahaha...do you even know the definition of the word? For one thing to be considered illegitimate, there should be set of law/laws or rule/rules that allows or disallows/prohibits such thing, now from what accepted standards/rules/laws did you based yours that you considered my post as illegitimate? "

how on earth can a set of laws or rules that allows or disallows illegitimacy?????

"You read the post of the Lady from PI, so you know what i said Re: looking down upon the woman. The fact that the the accused lady graduated from a good school in the Phils and that she doesn't know the FC is totally uncalled for. Whether one graduated or not, the possibility of committing a mistake is likely to happen to anyone"

thats true but i didnt say anything about that

"Do you even know a thing about the FC of the Philippines for you to say that, you're statements are clearly without a doubt, merely based on opinions without legal basis at all. "

i dont know nor do i care to know anything the FC of the PHILs. i try not to read #######.

"I beg to disagree but the state cares about the legitimacy of the babies, otw, there should have been no family laws at all."

    what are you saying???

"I mentioned about the legitimacy not the population. Legitimacy is one thing, and population is another. The pivotal issue in this case is the "no-brainer" of the FC as regards the presumption of legitimacy of the child NOT the population that you are talking about. And suddenly you even want to address divorce? It would really help you if you find some time to understand the FC. Don't you think you need to address the issue squarely? Just a suggestion."

i merely informed you that the population is being flooded by children of unwed single parents. that in itself is a no brainer.

in society children are considered illegitimate if born outside of a married mother and father. so in societies eye the population is being flooded by illegitimate children. so tell me exactly where and when does this coveted FC come in and help the situation??????? ahhh you see it doesnt.

Divorce in your country is controlled by the catholic church. where is your separation of church and state???????

"Now for you suggestion, don't you think you should address that to the Philippine congress? just a thought so your "opinions" will make a difference. "

i dont care if there is ever a law or an FC that ever makes a difference in your country. Its a no brainer

It's very palpable that you completely lack the knowledge of the FC code, the Philippine legislative and our culture. As i have been telling you, you read it so you will understand so you can give intelligent statements. You are in no position to insult our FC, you don't even a thing about it. It's never a #######, but the way you think is. Now, you are talking about the separation of church of state, hahaha, do you even know our Philippine Constitution? Tell me. Anyways, as i see it, you don't understand how to deal with the issue, and it's next to impossible to make people like you understand the law and the rationale behind it, yet you act like you know it very well and just conclude that it's a #######. Pathetic. It's a completely waste of time to make you understand, actually, it's hopeless. :)

  3. Im sorry but your post can easily be considered illegitimate.

No one looked down upon the man or the woman in this case.

Lets be honest Love is Love and it happens at all the wrong times in some cases.

You stated the law was there to protect the status of the child. Whether being legitimate or not.

Are you kidding me???? There is currently a population growth crisis currently in the Phils.

No one cares about the legitimacy of their children anymore. The mothers nor the fathers are concerned with this issue.

Philippine official claim that if this population growth is not controlled soon they will not be able to feed all the people

    in the next 20 years.

80% of the children being born in the phils is currently by unwed mothers.

Now for my opinion of what needs to be done.

Regulate the control of the Catholic Church in the Phils!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Catholic Church does not allow Divorce and so says the Philippine Law.

If this couple was allowed divorce then this episode of locked up abroad would have never existed.

    Freely distribute birth control Pills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Catholic Church is against it!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are so many other Catholic rules that have been converted to Philippine Law.

    Thats Just my opinion.

    Peace

Do you even know a thing about the FC of the Philippines for you to say that, you're statements are clearly without a doubt, merely based on opinions without legal basis at all. Obviously, you lack knowledge about the family law in the Philippines. I beg to disagree but the state cares about the legitimacy of the babies, otw, there should have been no family laws at all. I mentioned about the legitimacy not the population. Legitimacy is one thing, and population is another. 4. It's not a no-brainer law, every bill signed into law has been deliberated and studied upon carefully. The rationale behind the law is to protect the interest of the unborn/child, the law doesn't want the child to suffer the status of being an illegitimate child, as such is always frowned upon especially in Philippine setting, that's why the law creates this presumption that any baby born in a marriage is presumed to belong to that of the husband and the wife. The presumption is in favor of legitimacy not illegitimacy. This presumption, however is NEVER conclusive and irrebutable and may be overcome anytime by strong pieces of evidence to the contrary. And DNA evidence, contrary to what has been said here, is never irrelevant to Philippine courts disprove paternity. In fact, courts give high credence to DNA results to be conclusive as to paternity. There is no need to revise the family code as regards the matter, as i have said one can always disprove the alleged paternity. The absence of DNA Evidence at the time of the enactment of the Family code nothwithstanding, the presumption may be rebutted by other pieces of evidence which the family codes also provided for.

Let's not looked down upon the girl or the fact that she graduated in a good school in the Philippines yet committed the mistake. To err is human. Not every Filipina knows about all the 257 articles of the Family code, that's a hard thing to do. LOL! PEACE OUT! :)

  5. Hello! Is it true that we should report our marriage to the US Embassy in Manila, Philippinesz? If yes, please indicate the number. Thank you !

NO. You may or may not report your marriage, if wish to report it you may do so at the nearest Philippine consulate in your place. I called the Philippine consulate here in Guam, and it's totally discretionary on your part if you want to report it, however a fee is required for this. You may want to call and inquire from the nearest Philippine consulate in your area.

  6. Yeah i cant beleive it as i was sure it would take much longer to get the GC i just had a look today quickly to see if anything had happened with my EAD/AP but got a huge shock to see the approval for GC

You're ONE lucky girl! You're GC was approved in less than 2 mos! Whew!

COngrats! Wish i also live in the mainland so i have better chances of an aos case transfer just like you. :) COngrats again! Happy for you!

  7. Hellllo All :)

We sent the AOS on 5/10 and received texts and emails on 5/13. The check also cleared on 5/13. Is everything being sent to my local office for processing now?

Good Luck to all of us!!! So happy to be in the AOS world :D

Depends. If your AOS will be transferred to CSC, then your application will not be send to the local uscis. The EAD and AP are processed at USCIS Missouri. We should hope for your transfer. :)

  8. Got my NOA1 for AOS, EAD, and AP... Biometric sched is on June 14, I can just walk-in earlier right? coz it's the day before my hubby's exam....I don't want to hassle him at all... Anyone here from Guam who does that?

I did! Actually, what i planned was an infopass appointment and have my biometrics done early because it's taking the USCIS a while to send my biometrics appt. letter but the day before my scheduled infopass, i got the bio letter so i walked in just the same and wasn't able to use my infopass appt. Just go there early morning, be the first one in line, it didn't take that long for me to finished it. Don't worry the lady administering it is a pinay and she was nice. Take off your rings too. :)

  9. :ot: so once this ROC is completed, I intend to be naturalized and get my dual citizenship (australia/america).

anyone else thinking this far ahead? :P

    Count me in! :)

I can't lose my Filipino citizenship otherwise, i can't practice my profession in my country which i worked hard for 12 yrs. The best thing to do is to be a dual citizen, the adverse effect, however, is that i have to pay higher taxes though. I will be taxed both by Phils and America. Oh well... :)

  10. It will be transferred. I had my case expedited too and they transferred me. I didn't get an email, instead a letter in the mail regarding my expedite request. :)

Hello! Good to hear that! The lady i spoke with said i should hear from them within 5 days from the time i called and there's their email, good thing though because it really takes a while to get the mail here. Thanks! Thanks! Hope we all get our GC soon! :)
