  1. True. I've read a lot about PRISM and how hard they process things. I went to St. Mary's and attended the seminar before I was allowed to change my passport from my maiden name to my married name. I just have to go back when I have the visa in hand for me to get the sticker. You can get the sticker directly from them (the place). No need to go to another place (like how PRISM is doing it) just to get it. :bonk:

:wow: Thank you for that list! We're trying to see the average time frame coz I need to plan for my going-away party and book a plane ticket too.

  3. Hi! You said IR-1? So I am thinking you've been married for more than 2 years. If that's the case, she will get a 10-year green card. The name on the green card will be that of her passport. If that's the case, it will be better to have her passport change and have her green card under her married name to avoid any problems in the future (such as bringing documents every time to prove that she is your wife). But I dunno for sure.. Mine is just an assumption.

Did you use her maiden name on the USCIS and NVC forms? The name you used when applying for her visa should be name showing on her passport. We filed for CR-1 but before we did, I changed my passport and used my husband's last name. So that, all the documents will be on my married name.. Passport, forms, green card.. etc.

  4. I have receives the hard copy of the notification :dance:and we are happy about it, it took so long before it finally came. My question is

do I need to have an appointment at SLMC for my medical examination or I can just walk in? What are the documents that i may need?

Thank you friends at visa journey i have learned so much from you guys,

Yes, what they said are all correct. Anyway, I'm just wondering.. you said you received a hard copy of the 'notification'. Is that the appointment letter and instruction package? I got mine through email from NVC. Should I expect a hard copy too? or if you did electronic processing, you won't get a hard copy?

    Sorry.. just confused. :hehe:

  5. Another happy day!!! :D:dance:

  6. The CFO sticker is not an option. She needs it or else they won't let her board the plane. It's a requirement. She needs to pay the fees, submit the docs, and attend the seminar. AFter that, she'll get the sticker stamped in her passport. She needs to have the visa first before getting the sticker.

Here's the link for info and schedules of seminar:

  7. You did not bring a scan copy of your NOA2? i'm thinking of getting an advance medical once i have our case number, but the thing is, my husband did not get the hard copy of the NOA2 because he moved by the time we got approved.

No, I didn't. You won't need it in any way. You just need your case number because you need it to fill out the forms for your medical. If the guard will ask about your appointment letter, tell him that you are doing it in advance and you have your case number already. It's not big deal.

  8. Yep, I had my medical in advance. All you need to have is your Manila case number/NVC case number, 2x2 photos, the medical fee, and passport. Just tell the guard at St. Luke's that you're doing it in advance. Hope you have all the documents needed for NVC. All the originals are needed. From here you will need to have NBI, NSO Marriage Certificate, NSO Birth Certificate, photocopy of your passport's biographic page, 2x2 photos, and the DS230.

Do the electronic process for the NVC by sending the DS3032 via email. You have to call them everyday. That's what we did. don't wait for the mail to come, call them. Being reactive will not work on the NVC stage.

    Goodluck! :)

  9. Hi Yhang,

I guess we are on the same boat. We called NVC last week to ask about our case status and they told us that they have forwarded our case to US Embassy Manila on 27th of May. It has been 11 days and we still havent heard anything from US Embassy Manila no email/mail from them. I would like to know if how long does it take for us to receive a letter or eligibility for us to set a schedule of appointment. Also, I would like to know if we can pay MVR at BPI and set a schedule of appointment and proceed to medical exam without getting a letter of eligibility from US Embassy Manila. I know how you feel on being impatient. I am getting very impatient and anxious about this too.

I hope I know the answers to your questions... we (IR/CR visa) don't really have that option like you since NVC is the one who will schedule our appointment. I hope we hear from them this week..

  10. Hello, everyone!

It's been 10 days since our case was completed at NVC. We were informed that they will start scheduling for July interviews this second week of June (which will be this week). Is that really how it goes? Is there anyone out here, Philippines forum, who got their case completed at NVC and is/are still waiting for their interview date? I am just so impatient right now.. :(
