  1. My mom and I made it to the hotel and checked-in. Interview day will be tomorrow at 8:30am. I am calling the help of everyone (and the Universe!) to help me pray for tomorrow.. It has been 7 months of waiting..

Thank you all! I am so excited!!!!

  2. Do you pay right there or somewhere else and get a receipt??? Also what time did you arrive to insure you got in that day??

I suggest not to go there on a Monday.. I went there Wednesday at 1pm and I'm done by 4pm. Went back Thursday for the results - went there at 9am and out at 11am. No need to go really early because there will be lots of people waiting. Better do it when almost everyone is done so that you don't have to wait for a long time. People are all rushing there at 4:30am thinking that they all get the first spot.

You will pay there and they'll give you a receipt.

    Goodluck!

  3. They gave us the 'every 2nd and third week of the month' script when hubby called NVC to inquire about our interview date after we got SIF and CC. I dunno if it's right or just pure coincidence but we got our schedule the second week of June for July 14. Some said it depends on the availability of slots. I've seen people who got their interview schedule set outside of that 2nd and 3rd week spiel from NVC. Mine was 10 business day after CC. I guess it's a case to case basis.

  4. Hello everyone! I'm wondering if there's anyone out here who tried picking up their visa to a 2go branch in Cubao or Caloocan? Actually, anywhere near SMEF-COW? I am trying to look for a reputable 2go branch to pick up my visa before heading to SMEF-COW to get my sticker.

For those who picked up their visa, which 2go branch did you use?

    Thank you much!

  5. Same here.. I had my medical May 18, 2011 and I've seen petitioners waiting outside.. Beneficiaries were the only ones allowed inside. I guess it has been changed. I hope it's not misinformation though..

  6. The OP is under CR/IR type of visa. Vaccines are different compared to K1 since we don't adjust status when we get there. Just like what Magdasal said, you don't have to worry about the vaccines since they are already included in the medical fee. Before vaccinations, a doctor will look into the results of the exam first. Whatever it is that your wife needs (vaccines), SLEC will give it to her with no charge. I don't think you need to see a private doctor to have your wife's shots done before the medical because your wife can get them all (if needed) at SLEC.

  7. She can attend the seminar while she is in the city but she can't get the sticker that she needs in order to leave the country. I always recommend people to attend the CFO when they have the visa in hand, so that they don't have to go back for the sticker. It saves time, money, and effort. It's up to you, guys. You can attend the CFO seminar before you get the visa, yes, but you still have to go back when you get your visa to get the sticker (They won't give your sticker without the visa in hand). Your choice.

  8. It's easiest if she'll do it when she have the visa in hand. She can do it before the interview too, however, she needs to go back for the sticker when she gets her visa because they need to put the sticker on her passport. To save energy, time, effort, and money - it's better to do it when she receives her visa. :) She doesn't have to go back for the sticker anymore.

  9. Ashley CONGRATS. I'm so happy for you.

Yhang, we are still at NVC. Our hopes of "flying through NVC" have been dashed. We got our NOA2 on May 3 and waited almost the whole month of May to be entered into the system. We paid the bills and sent in our paperwork in June and it's now July and I called NVC yesterday and they haven't officially received our package yet. I know the package is there because it's signed for but for now, we just wait. We're hoping for CC by end of July.

Seems like everyone is having a problem with NVC now.. have you tried calling them and ask to speak with a Supervisor. I've known a lot from this group though who are having the same issues with NVC.. missing documents and stuff. :bonk:

Hope you'll get your CC soon with no RFE..

  10. kicking.gifgood.gifheart.gifMy fiance's visa interview at the USEM Manila Embassy today was a success. I am happy to announce that her K1 Visa is on the way! She was APPROVED! PRAYERS PEOPLE and HAVE FAITH! Believe! Thank you all for all the very vital information that I got here! VISAJOURNEY ROCKS!wow.gifheart.gifstar_smile.gif

Any suggestions for the cheapest one way airfare?

What about the CFO seminar, should we wait for the visa before proceeding?

    Thanks again Peeps!

    From Weng and Jet

    Congrats!!

I would suggest to just attend the seminar when you get the visa, so that you don't have to go back for the sticker. :) After the seminar, they will give the sticker right away when you have your visa in hand. And yes, go to SMEF-COW :)

    Congrats again!!

  11. Seriously?..3 weeks before the interview?

Jadeleaf is from New Zealand.. He/She was just saying that's how it goes in their country. Why not make it a week before you interview date? Just to make sure the embassy will have it before your interview day. You've come this far, you don't want any delays for sure..

  12. Hi yang. I need to ask you something about NVC process. I hope you can help me with this.

Who sends the AOS and DS230 packets to NVC? Is it going to be my hubby? DS23O is the IV packet right?

Is he going to prepare these documents for the IV packet?

    a. Bar-coded cover sheet

    b. 2 Passport-sized photographs of the beneficiary

    c. Completed and signed form DS-230 Part 1 by the beneficiary

    d. Completed and 'unsigned' form DS-230 Part 2 by the beneficiary

    e. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport

    f. Original/Certified birth certificate of the beneficiary

    g. Original/Certified marriage certificate of the beneficiary and the petitioner

    h. Original police certificate(s) of the beneficiary

    i. Original/Certified divorce decree of the beneficiary's prior marriage(s), if applicable

    j. Original military certificate of the beneficiary, if applicable

    k. 1 set Photocopy of all the above civil documentsWe don't know the whole process but we are hoping to shorten the NVC processing.

We just hope we will spend our first Christmas together.

    Thanks.

    Hello!

I was the one who filled out the DS230 (IV packet). I answered the forms and left the part I unsigned, gathered all the docs that we needed here like NSO copies of my birth certificate and our marriage contract, my NBI, biographic copy of my passport, and my 2x2 photos. I sent them all to my husband and he sent altogether (Affidavit of Support and DS230) to NVC. He put them in 2 different envelopes (AOS and DS230) and wrote their corresponding addresses (on each envelope) and he sent them in one big package via FedEx.

Hope your papers will fly through NVC too!

  13. Apparently NVC cannot be telephoned by people who use Magic Jack:

I have found that every attempt to call NVC from my Magic Jack, results in a busy signal. Skype works fine.

And NVC will email you bogus messages:

I got an auto response from NVC "Checklist cover letter". It says I need to submit Immigrant Visa Application and AOS documents. I already sent in the AOS (I-864 + supporting documents) last week. So why are they sending me an e-mail saying to submit the papers? I can't send the IV application yet because we're still waiting for police clearances. I'll send that in a month. Is this just an auto response?

Something crazy is going on at NVC, they did the same to me with my mother's petition, each time i would call they would say something else is missing, just call and ask to speak with a supervisor, many times they just send out random request before they even check to see if they already have the documents, yesterday i was told they got part 2 of her DS230 and not part 1, granted its one form that was stapled together "sigh"

NVC just sent me one of these bogus messages - a CHECKLIST COVER LETTER falsely claiming that they need the marriage certificate, birth certificate, police clearance certificate, and applicant photos - all of which was already sent to NVC in the very same envelope as the I-864 and DS-230. :bonk:

Have you tried calling them to verify if it is a legit or a false RFE? I have friends from this forum who got false RFE too. How's NVC treating you? Hope they're not giving you and your wife a hard time./
