  1. Yes, I feel for anyone dealing with the backlog at Vermont.

Actually, it California has skipped over some August and September filers as well as many October, November, and December filers and is now approving February filers, LOL!!!

See Igor's List under Immigration Timelines.

This whole process makes me understand why many simply cross the border under cover of darkness...

  2. Everyone on this board has hardships. We all have stories that would melt a caring person's heart. We all understand world events and have simpathy for those in need...

However, the only truly fair way to process these K1 apps is "first come, first serve". Anything else is not right and should not happen.

I for one, doubt there is any valid reason for these "early" approvals other than the whole system is haphazard and inherently broken. I do appreciate the attempts to explain, I just don't believe it.

  3. Hi,

I needed a police certificate from Turkmenistan for my fiancee. Just followed the instructions on THE uscis WEBSITE: I (US Citizen)sent email to US Consulate in Turkmenstan requesting fiancee's police certificate for K1 Visa process. They replied via email next day asking for dates, places, where she lived and copies of her Turkmenistan passport. Sent that info via email next day(scanned copy of passport was OK). Consulate Section replied via email that they received the the info the next day and told me it would take 3-4 weeks to process. Got it at 5 weeks along with a certified translation from Russian to English!

The Consulate in Ashgebat was awesome! Made me proud to be American and impressed my fiancee who thought it would take forever! Thank God for the Dept. of State!

  4. I'm with you on this: I am happy for the folks with 2-3 month approvals, BUT what is going on here? As a former federal employee, I can assure you there are NO bonus $ at stake for team performance (at least not in Dept. of Veteran's Affairs where I worked).

I have no problem waiting my turn for 5 months for a chore that likley takes 15-30 minutes for most cases, but when others are processed ahead of time, that seems unfair. Yah, I know "life isn't fair". Just sayin'...

  5. Hey Y'all!

Any late October or early November filers get a touch in the last week? We got one on Friday 2/11. I know they don't necessarily mean anything good/bad/otherwise, but at least i know it's in the building, LOL!

I think they are still working Late August-early September (with approvals on apps with as late as 9/20/10 NOA1's).

Just wonderin' and good luck to all of you on your Journey

  6. One of the really nice things about the USA is that we are a "melting pot" made up of peope from every corner of the globe who all come here seeking something: freedom, love, success, whatever. You will not have to try very hard to find others who share your experiences and perhaps even your culture and background. Although there are no gaurantees that things will work out, I am certain that you will enjoy the benefits of what in my opinion is the still the beacon of freedom: The United States of America! Can't wait to welcome you to the USA and good luck on your journy! :)
