  1. I'd have to agree with Pax Paul...It probably is still at the consulate. I would think they would use the Feb. 2nd date as that is the original date you sent it in. I hope you hear something soon..by the way that was the same email they sent me back in November when I emailed them asking if they had received my waiver from Denmark. So at least they're consistent!

    jpkeswim----have you heard anything yet????

No passports again for me today kids....I am getting very very frustrated here! It's almost like waiting for the waiver all over again! Grrrrr....

  2. Paul I would keep trying...like I said if you email them again and dont receive a response, then I would fax them and ask it that way and maybe ask them to call you or something? I cant understand why they havent responded...It never took over a day or two for them to respond to me. I even slipped up one time and emailed them twice in one week to see if they had it.

  3. I'd call them and find out if it were me..;) I am just the nosey type!

Rebecca, I dont think there is a waiver needed for a one or two day overstay..

I am still waiting with you guys but just for a different thing! MY PASSPORTS! Grrrrrr....still didnt come today! I cant get out of this bloody country until I get them!

  4. Paul have you checked your junkmail filters on your email? Maybe they are going in the trash! you can always fax them if you have a fax. They received our fax we sent without any problems but they wont send you anything confirming they got it. So my thoughts to you would be to email them again. In the subject line just put URGENT, NEED INFO or something...Then in the letter box just put your questions and at the end, list the date you filed, and your case number, along with your email address. It SHOULD get you some kind of response even if it's the same generic one! ;)

  5. That email is BS! We received an email similar to that one but without the refrain from contacting part. You have a RIGHT to find out what is going on and they cannot tell you differently. This is your lives! I got upset and afraid they'd deny us because I emailed them like two times in one week on one occasion. That is just nuts. After that I got really pissed. How dare they tell me I cant get an answer?! I am really sorry you got such a rude response. I believe they have two different people doing the emails. One is nice of course and one is rude. I dont buy that 15 week #######! You said they asked you to submit the waiver and didnt need evidence. That would tell me your case was pretty straightforward, otherwise they would have said "please submit all this supporting evidence"..to prove your case.

If you dont get an answer this week, then perhaps next week is your lucky week. Dont give up Mary!

  6. Mary it was swedish time..from the embassy in Stockholm. London didnt call me with the approval because we filed it through Sweden. So if you get a phone call it may come from the embassy in London. Depending on where you are in the US, you could be around 5 hours back but you probably already know that if Tom is in Scotland.

The address jpkeswim had was right. I never really put urgent in the subject field but I guess it cant hurt anything to do that. I'd just give the filing date and tell them you'd like to know what's going on.

You guys have got to be hearing something soon!

  7. My phone call came around 11am on my cell...hubby who is the swedish one didnt get a call at all! ;)

Our waiver was approved on Jan. 25th (I saw on the brown envelope cover page) but we didnt get notified until Jan. 30th but that could possibly be because we live in Sweden..maybe they mailed the stuff first? Being that you guys went through London and the UK and are probably there (i.e. no mailing..) I would think you will get a phone call very soon!

Why dont you email them and see if you get a response..couldnt hurt, right?!

  8. OK...Just so you know between 7am and 8am I have no life. I should be working on catching things up, but instead I was drawing the layout of our apartment. I think it turned out pretty good. As you can tell, if we buy another stick of furniture it is going to burst at the seams.

    Is anyone else bored????

I am waiting until 8:30 to call and schedule Alex to get to the doctor today. I got to daycare yesterday and Emily had a rash all over. When I took her to the doctor they tested her and she has strep throat. :( Alex has been compaining about his throat being sore since Sunday, (I thought he was just being a baby). I figure I better get him tested and on some antibiotics if he has strep. They say it can move to your heart that you can get rumatic fever. I need to keep him around a long time so we are getting him into the dr. today.

I just wanted to add..I had a sore throat for a week. I went to the doctor and they did a strep test and mono spot. Both were negative so I was obviously told it was a virus. Then a day later the rash came. It started on my face and went everywhere. By the next day, my throat was so sore I could barely swallow. I had white patches on my tonsils. So we went to the ER. They did a strep test and mono again and this time it came back I had infected tonsils and scarlet fever. So I got meds and a stern warning to sue my doctor! :) It took me over two weeks to feel back to normal. I just wanted to let you know that in case they are still feeling bad and you ever get a negative strep test. :)

I hope they feel better soon!

  9. To be honest I was quite surprised reading that as well...I would think all hardship letters need supporting evidence. It would be easy for everyone to write a one page letter stating we'd have the emotional and financial hardships. I think all of us had had that.

Where did you find the approval rating Nigel? Are you secretly working for the CIA or MI6?

  10. Well let's chat instead...when are you leaving for Florida Nigel? Turns out me and my kids may end up in NC until we can find a place to live in Florida. Hubby will have to stay down there and work though. Not what we planned but we'll fix it.

Sorry misty..i Lost ya post....well should be next wk or so...

Now that going to be a trip....in seeing my Family for 2yrs...man that put shivers up my spine...in just thinking of it.....:yes:

That's awesome news Nigel! I am so happy for you! :)
