  1. I was looking at that list and can hardly believe it's been almost a year since we filed that waiver. Believe me you guys it is so anticlimactical. Once it's over it's like it never happened. They have you hyped up for months on end and getting the visa is soooo undramatic and flattening. I mean, you're happy of course but you begin to feel like I went through hell for this?? One little piece of plastic.

Beetee, hang in there lady! I know you're getting your good news soon! It's getting time for it! Bailey, what's your waiver doing? Have they started to look at it yet?

Mary, congratulations on finally getting your move date to the UK! I know it's all bittersweet for you, and I hope you and Tom are very happy together!

Nigel, where the heck are you??? Surely by now your tan is sparkling so you can come back to chat with us! :P

  2. uh no Beetee....Unfortunately there are a few bridges we burned while in Sweden. I am not happy about that but it happened and nevertheless, we probably wont go back for a very long time. I'd love to visit but living there wasnt for me. The plane ride alone was enough for me to want to stay away!

I know you will hear something soon! I wish you all the luck! I have a good feeling about your case!

Speaking of tans--Nigel must be working on HIS!

  3. If Beetee is under review she will hear something soon. In I'd estimate about 3 weeks or so depending. I really hope you get approved Beetee! You can email London but all they'll tell you is that your waiver is being adjudicated and that they will notify the embassy if you have been approved/denied.

Hi Nigel! Glad to see you back! I hope things are going well for you in Jacksonville. My husband just procured a job making $23.90 an hour! Health insurance for the whole family! We are very excited! :D

  4. No, I havent heard from Nigel! I hope he is fairing well!

Beetee, surely it cant be much longer now! My total wait was 4.5 months with having a 3 week delay due to getting a passport, holidays, and a prolonged A-File check! Surely you will hear something soon! Have you tried to contact London yet?

Ahhh the temps sound lovely. We're getting ready to hit 40 here! ACK! :o

Paul, congrats on getting married!!!! I hope you are doing well!

Beetee the job keeps me away from the boards and then when I get home my husband is usually using the computer to work.

  5. Munchkins,

The cases that come in from other countries to London are adjudicated faster. They are done in original accordance to their filing dates. If filed before one in London is then once received it is bumped up.

My timeline was filed originally on September 12, 2005. Finally sent to London Dec. 16th. London received Jan. 3rd. and was adjudicated by Jan. 25th. So we waited over 4 months.

  6. beetee did you ever call that number I gave you? Just curious as to what office it went to..You can always fax the embassy and ask for the ICE office. Tell them to call you and maybe you'll get a phone call. I really dont know why we were always so lucky with London emailing us and ICE faxing and calling but we were. I hope you get some answers soon! I spoke with a really nice lady but for privacy reasons I cant give her name out here. She helped so much and went out of her way to make me feel better. I think it's those sort of people that really help the waiver process and obviously make the petitioner feel much better as well.

I am sorry I was MIA the past few weeks. Our hard drive crashed on 4/19 I believe and I had no internet or even Windows for that matter! My husband moved back to NC with us about a week or so ago. He is driving me positively nuts and I hope he finds another job soon! We bought a used car, a 2000 model in early May. And I start a new job on Monday. I hope I like it!

Anyway...I hope you all are doing well.....we need some approvals soon!

Congrats on your wedding jpkeswim! and Congrats to Bailey (Vicky) for filing the waiver! :)

Paul, and beetee how are you guys???

Nigel are you in the US yet?

  7. Chin up Beetee,

people in here can give you as much support as possible, I found it really helps when you feel down and times get hard, and there will be a few of them before (fingers crossed) we are all approved.

Look at Misty B's timeline, I'm sure she had to go through a similar process with submitting her waiver via stockholm and then waiting for it to be sent to London. A plus side of this method was that she didn't have to wait the 12-15 weeks from when London received it, I think it was only four weeks from then?? (not sure)

anyway, if you're feeling down, and you want to type, we're all here for you!

    Hi guys..

Well my waiver sat in Denmark for 2 long months and I really have no idea why. They said they were trying to do alot of work on it before it got sent to London and also that they were waiting on something (I suspect it had something to do with the fingerprints or the A-File but I am not 100% sure of that)...anyway it sat for two months. It got sent to London on Dec. 15th, they received at DHS on Jan. 3rd and it was adjudicated by the 25th. I suspect it was decided before Sweden called me though so it was around 3 weeks. I believe they go by filing date.

Beetee I would try to call the ICE office. The embassy probably has no idea what is going on.

Try this phone number....+45 35 55 66 91..I think that is the right number..I dont have access to the phone numbers I had when I was over there..at worst it's a fax number. They will answer faxes much faster.

  8. jpkeswim, I moved over here on March 12th with my 3 kids and my husband left on Feb. 25th to start his job in Florida. So I havent seen my husband in almost 2 months. We are trying to plan some time alone but it is very difficult. He had received all his cards and things by mid March.

What about you Nigel?? Are you here in the US yet?

Congrats to you Wendibob if I havent said it already! :)

  9. To you guys who got denied..I am very very sorry! I cant believe it! I want to wish you the best of luck in finding a way you two can be together in peace. I am very surprised London is denying all of a sudden it seems.

Our waiver took 3 weeks to decide but I believe that is because it came from Sweden and was filed 3 months before it was sent to London. Even so to make someone wait 12 weeks or more is just ludicrous.

  10. No Nigel...no FL for me as of yet...they want unreasonable amounts of cash in the bank before you can rent anything, and to top it all off Wilma ruined so many houses that it's a little short now. So me and the kids are staying with my mother in NC until we can decide something. The original plan was for us to stay up there until June and re-assess our situation but I dont think 3 months is going to be enough time to save up the amount of money these people are referring to. So I dont know. I hope something is decided before August, because I'd like to start school and I dont want my children to have to change schools in a moment's notice.

But yeah....we're finally outta here on March 12th! I cant wait but to be honest I am already suffering from anxiety. I just hope I can manage this!

  11. New Orleans Bound---you overstayed for 191 days and that's it? You didnt commit a crime? You didnt commit fraud? You just overstayed? What visa? Was it a tourist visa or what? I am just trying to understand why Montreal wont let you file a waiver...that makes no sense. An overstay of more than 180 days but less than a year is punishable by a three year ban, yes? That should be waiverable, correct? Anyway I wish you luck and hope you get to file soon!

Mary I pm'ed you...hang in there lady!!!! We are snoopies on this board (heck I am the biggest one of all!) and we are determined..that means we'll get to the bottom of this jar!

  12. Can you really and truly understand why Mary feels as crappy as she does? Waivers are very very nervewracking. They are time consuming. They are expensive. You are putting your hopes and dreams in the hands of a stranger that doesnt know squat about you as a person. They are deciding how you will live your life with the person you love. Mary is devastated and rightly so. She has been through the wringer in this waiver fiasco. None of it makes sense as to why they would even let them file for the waiver if they knew all along it was unwaiverable. Someone didnt do their job properly and gave them false information. I would call the consulate tomorrow and demand to speak to the consul. Someone out there has answers. Mary really needs those answers. It's easy to tell her to fight but she's just had her life turned upside down. That takes a bit of recovery.

I do believe Rebecca was right though. I believe Mary needs an excellent immigration attorney. Maybe that attorney could even consult with a UK criminal attorney and find out what the heck happened.

Again I hope you are ok Mary and you just take all the time you need to really think about your future. Just as long as you two are together...

  13. I really think you should find a good immigration attorney if you didnt have one going into it. If you did then I humbly apologize. IMO I think you should re-file and this time be way more thorough if possible. It is up to you however. I hope you both reach a decision in your lives where you can be together. I am very very sorry this happened to you! It's not fair at all!

  14. Well the consulate and DHS are two separate animals and often dont see eye to eye. Case in point would be Liam's problem months ago and another poster's problem on the I2U website. He is now battling the DHS office because they didnt even look at his hardship information meaning they ignored DHS policy.

I am sorry you were denied and had to wait for nothing. It's really not fair. I am sure you will do what is right for you guys. Good luck to you both!!!

  15. Mary--I am very very sorry!

Can you post your hardship letter if you had one? Maybe we can help in some way. You might could file a MTR and then be able to submit more evidence which would undoubtedly help your case.

Nigel--help me here....is it a Motion to Reopen or Motion to Reconsider..or are they the same thing? In any event you can appeal this decision.

  16. Paul it seems like I read somewhere that DHS London has a phone number but it's only for people residing in the UK..guess that might be why I never called them. I cant figure out what's going on in your case. I have never heard of anyone NOT receiving an email from them either nice or rude. Maybe you should try another email service and see if it works? Just a thought. Doesnt make any sense that no one over there is getting your messages but are many others. I hope you find out what is going on! Good luck!

  17. Paul I would contact the consulate and ask if they have received anything. From what I have heard the DHS office is upstairs but since I didnt go through London I am just going by what I think I know. Nigel's sat in the consulate for I believe 19 days before it went upstairs.

I am sorry you havent heard anything...

We should be getting our passports by the end of the week...yeehaw..cant wait!
