I got SIF and Case Complete on Monday of this week...still waiting for an interview date. I CAN'T WAIT, ha ha ha
. Crossing my fingers to hear something tomorrow, but I will definitely post as soon as I know anything.
Carlo's wife told me. Congrats

I've gone through two or three periods of six months without seeing my SO. Each time we went that long it became more difficult to bear. I've noticed that when we go that long without seeing each other we bicker over the silliest things. I guess we become moody and depressed.
I went this past november and again in december, and boy do I wish I had the money to afford a monthly trip but I certainly do not. I don't know when will be the next time I'll go. I would like to hold off until our interview but without an approval in sight who knows how long it'll be before we get an interview date. Now I'll have to scrounge for pennies so that I could go once more and soon!
I go out with family and friends to distract myself but secretly I daydream about how the day would have been if my SO were there too. Going to parties alone...ugh, the worst, especially when you see other couples.
My only relief is that someday soon we will be together permanently and we'll be able to close this four year long distance relationship chapter, and start a new happy life together.
Let's all hang in there because one day things will get better

Every time I check my timeline it says:
There are not enough recent approvals in the timeline system to accurately approximate when your I-130 will be approved. Please see the Timeline Stats page to see recent approvals.
It's said that since November I think. It used to say it could be approved between Jan 14 - Feb 24, or some other date which I have completely forgotten. There aren't that many IR-1/CR-1 filers (whose case were sent to VSC) registered on this website which makes it hard for them to collect any data that is even remotely close to being accurate, so I'm just waiting blindly for any news.
I literally jump at my phone whenever I get a text message, wishing it was from USCIS informing me that my case has been approved.

We really have! I don't know what I did in a past life to deserve this karma, but I'll take it! I'm just terrified it's going to run out...gotta keep that optimism though! I'm staying positive that the rest will go super-smoothly!
Good luck to all here!!!
Hey, have you gotten a SIF yet? Or an interview date?

We all know it takes 5 months maybe longer ...We just all like to live in our fantasy where time is quicker and we will be with our loved ones in happy ever after land...
so please nay sayers who keep thinking they have to give us the reality of a long wait please dont'..
I wish everyone a speedy approval:P
Well said. I was avoiding even commenting on the subject because I was really annoyed when I first read that person's nonsense and I didn't want to end up saying anything mean.
I wish some of these bitter people wouldn't come and try to rain on anyone else's parade. I don't see anything wrong with keeping a positive attitude.
Cheers to keeping the hope alive! I wish that we will all get speedy approvals, and if we don't, I pray that none of us ever become that bitter, negative and annoying.

Wow it's crazy that you got your NOA2 after posting something about it. Congrats and best of luck on the rest of your journey

Congrats on your approval.
Sorry I can't be of help but I know nothing about the K-1 procedures.
Good luck at your interview.

Congrats and thanks for sharing.

well, there is no cautionary tale here unfortunatley, the situation is at it is financially through no fault of our own... as my wife was the only person able to work, she was involved in a major car accident and was rendered unable to work, followed by a series of no support from her employer, followed by now numerous ONGOING legal cases which don't end quickly, not to mention to amount of time it will take my wife to heal... the money we had saved... has helped us keep a roof over our head and food. for those who are thinking it, the car wreck was not her fault.
Im not willing to go into it in any more detail, but we are where we are and I'm trying to find the best solution.
Baron555, we're getting to the point now where we are going to be able to apply for the AoS, if I had to wait an extra month to save for an attorney IF it was the right thing to do, then I would have worked it out somehow.
I guess it goes down to what Sisj said, you never know what situation people are in.
This is a little bit off topic but here it goes anyway...
You shouldn't even have had to go into detail about your situation if you didn't want to, but I understand why you did (because of other's assumptions that you probably weren't prepared). I totally agree with SisJ, you never know what type of situation people are in, and if they say they have a good excuse as to why they were unable to do something, that should be enough. Hopefully none of these comments made you feel bad. Some people come across as rude and I pray that they aren't doing it intentionally.
I hope you can get your issue resolved soon. Good luck with everything

That's awesome news. The worst should be over now. Good luck with the rest of your journey and hope you guys have a safe flight to the states!
-
Congrats! Don't pay attention to some of the rude people who apparently log in just to bully others.
I'm not doing K-1 but I'm sure this website does have plenty of guides to help you through. You just have to take the time to look for them (especially if you are new to the site).
Good luck with the rest of your journey.

I was reading through the July filers thread and I finally read the trick to checking the progress of other cases. I plugged in receipt numbers lower and higher in sequence when compared to mine on the USCIS website. The majority of cases before mine where approved up until I got to a certain point. (Lets pretend my number is EAC1190010300. Most of the cases came up approved until i got up to number EAC1190010200, only 100 away from mine). However, when I plugged in the number directly after mine in sequence (ie, if i were EAC1190010300, i plugged in number EAC1190010301) and they got an RFE in the begining of december. I plugged in another number that comes after mine in the numerical sequence and they have an approval already.
Obviously this all depends on whether or not a case was expedited, or maybe it's based on pure luck? Who knows. I'm not even upset that people who filed after I did are getting approved. If anything, I'm happy for them. If they have gotten an approval already then who knows, maybe I'll be next???
Just thought I'd share
By the way, the case right after mine that was RFE'd, and the other case after mine that was approved were both IR1-CR1, just like my case.
The numbers I posted here are purely random numbers I chose out of the blue in order to illustrate my point. I'm sorry if I happened to mention anyone's case number. I really wasn't trying to invade your privacy or anything. Even though this method can be utilized to see other people's status, there is no other personal information displayed there, so the petitioner is pretty much as anonymous as can be.
Just thought I'd throw that out there because I'm sure my curious tendencies will probably bother someone.

Hey,
So did you hear anything from VSC after the 6 days?
-
Congrats on getting an interview date. Good luck!
-
Lol, thanks for the link. I'll check it out later.

Did you find those stats here on this website? I was searching for something like this on uscis.gov because the results should be more accurate than the ones here (due to the fact that not evry person who has files is a member of this site). I didn't find anything though. I guess they wouldn't want us to know just how slowly things are moving anyway!
-
I see there are more K-1 filers on this site than IR-1/CR-1 but even they don't seem to be getting much action, at least the VSC ppl anyway. I wonder if USCIS provides statistics that show the amount of approvals each month for each service center. I guess it'll be my homework to find out tomorrow.
-
I'm an October filer so I'm not expecting anything so soon but it'd be nice to see if any more July/August/September filers have gotten their's but just failed to update their timelines? If there are still some July filers who have not been approved yet that really sucks!

Hi everyone
I know I can find all of this information on Igor's list but I decided to start this thread anyway...since I check that list every week but don't see much progress. Almost every day I'm seeing posts titled "NOA2" or "Approved" from members whose files were sent to CSC or TSC but not much news from VSC filers.
So, if you've filed for an IR-1/CR-1 visa and received your NOA2 recently (doesn't have to be this month, could have gotten it last month or in October) feel free to "make some noise" here. Share your excitement, your joy, your relief. Let us know if you expedited your case or not (this is something that is not clear on Igor's list).
I'm happy for any and all of the filers who have been approved, no matter which service center processed their case but I have to admit that it would be nice to hear some good news from anyone who's gotten a recent approval from VSC (if you haven't already guessed/noticed, my case was sent to VSC
which explains my interest). It's starting to feel like they have come to a complete stop...and I know that this isn't true because not everyone whose case is there has created an account on VJ, thus there is no real way of tracking just how many cases have been approved or not...but concerning the few of us who do utilize this website, it seems like there has been very little to no good news lately...am I right? I hope not.
If you haven't gotten an approval but just want to share your thoughts or concerns you are very welcomed to.
Thanks in advance for any replies. Happy holidays to everyone

I'm pretty sure you are only supposed to pay once. The $404 is for the Immigration Visa application (correct me if I'm wrong). Did your husband pay the fee online? Or by check? Either way, ask him if he has some type of proof that the fee was already paid. Good luck.
