  1. Hi guys,

I'm like many of you out there. Waiting for my wife to get here.

I'm a U.s citizen and filed for her IR-1 back in January 2011. I was under the impression that things will go faster and she will be here by June/july.

We have only spent few weeks together since the wedding and this long distance marriage brings its own share of stress which i'm sure most of you can relate too.

My question is : NVC automated voice staus finally changed saying my case was approved on July 14th and please wait 8 weeks for further instructions.I've a lawyer/agent who is doing things on my behalf. i want to know how long from now can i expect her to get her interview date. My indian consulate will be in Delhi since my wife lifes there.

If i'm correct, i don't have to worry about any prority date issue since she is my spouse and i'm a u.s citizen filing for her.

Any words of encouragement ? It has been a long 7 months that's for sure.

    Ram

Hi there, you should post your question at the India thread, or the January Filers.

My advice, be patient and keep the faith

  2. Salut !

Ca m'a mis un bon coup de pression mais bon...elle a fini sur le "you should receive your visa within 2 weeks, time needed for verifications".

    A+

    bienvenu!

    Bonne journee a tous

    Tous mes voeux de bonheur!!!

  3. Q32: In what occupation do you intend to work in the US?

I am a Commerce graduate with Accounting related work experience. However, I also went back to school after working for quiet a while since i got bored in counting other people's money. I took up Nursing and currently, Im a US Registered Nurse (NCLEX PASSER). Should I write there "Nursing Related Jobs &/or Accounting Related Jobs?".. Does it matter?

    Please advise. Thanks!

I wrote 2 choices, but I guess what matters is that you have already working plans.

    Good luck good.gif

  4. I have filed for an extension for my 2010 Income Tax returns and was a full time student and did not work the year prior so I had a additional sponsor fill out the AOS as well as myself, and she provided HER tax returns. Our case has been approved through NVC and forwarded to the consulate, should I expect to be required to provide my own tax returns even though I have filed an extension,or should the additional sponsor's returns be good enough??Any ideas??Thanks.

Yes you should provide the 2010. My hubby filed the extension but the Embassy here requires the 3 recent years tax returns.

    Good luck

  5. Dear Forumers,

Here is the situation. I (british citizen) had my final interview at the US Embassy in London on Thursday, June 9. At that interview, I was told I had been APPROVED for the visa; they took my passport and told me they would courier the passport and visa back to me within 10 business days. I waited 10 business days. I on the tenth business day (Thursday 23 June) I c

alled the consulate. I was informed the application has been put into Additional Administrative Processing (221g). Apparently it was suspended on June 10 (the day after they told us it was approved) and no one had notified me at all. I was not given a 221g sheet or batch number at the interview as I was approved, you as you can imagine, this was something of a shock to find I was issued a 221g. The Embassy still has my passport.

Background about me, white british male, work for a US bank, have had one J1 visa and two H1-B visas. Have lived in the US for a total of 5.5 yrs. Currently living in London.

Has anyone else been in this situation? If so, how long was it before you received your visa?

Many thanks for any help or advice in advance.

    Best wishes.

    Hi there,

I think this link may help you : http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/221g

  6. I just received the notice from USCIS request for additional information about our relationship. They request me to submit evidence like bank accounts, investments made together. Since my wife in VietNam, she does not have SSN so we cannot join to any financial institutes in America except our timeline. Can anyone suggest me how to submit more evidence that would help USCIS determine that we have a bona-fide marital relationship. We don't have any children together. We were married on March 02 2011. I submitted I-130 form at the end of March and got the NOA1 on April 01 2011.:bonk:

I had the same RFE, as we met at work and became close friends to another couple from work, we sent a letter written by them and a picture of us together with them and my daugther. We sent another letter of my very best friend and a picture of the 3 of us. We sent letters from my hubby's mother and 2 brothers. And we sent a wonderful letter from my hubby's boss who happen to also be a friend. And of course some picture of me and hubby here in France, in Portugal (I'm Portuguese) and in the USA. The petition was approved a few days later biggrin.gif. The best prove of relationship is having friends talking about you and your wife.
