  1. I got this message from TSC today saying all applications will have a response within 2 weeks:

"Unfortunately, our office is closed today because of the ice/snow storm that has hit Texas, but I did not want you to wait to hear from me. The I-130s are the priority for the Texas Service Center and we will have an action taken on every petition within the next 2 weeks. On a separate note, we are working with our call centers to ensure a more accurate and consistent delivery of information so hopefully your experience will not be repeated."

Great news!!! let's wait couple of weeks and see what happens. It's hard to believe but who knows...

  2. I sent affidavits, photos, and of course the marriage license along with google chat logs. Now you guys are making me nervous. At least in theory they SHOULD respond quickly after you forward them the evidence they requested, so you guys are nearly done. I'm wondering for those who got approved, what kind of evidence of bonafide marriage did they include in their applications? Why are some newlyweds getting RFEs while other's aren't? Perhaps they are training themselves on the RFE process?

I didn't sent anything with my petition,I thought that part is for US Consulate, when beneficiary goes for interwiev. They are doing background check, why do they need all the pictures and evidence for.All my conversations,e-mails,text massages with my husband is in Turkish language.Good luck to them,if they can understand

  3. I am going to Izmir, that is where I am from.I am trying to take a leave for 3 weeks if they let me.My hubby leaves in Eskisehir,my mom leaves in Izmir. We will be traveling back n forth in between those 2 cities and hope fully in Antalya for a few days to get away from families and spend some time together ;)

I sent e-mail to TSC,wrote to my Senator, you name it I did. Also lots of people who transferred from CSC to TSC,they are raising h..l but no help. What I am hearing today, bcz of the Artic storms, they are closed. :(

  4. That is great news ceyhunihal,

I can imagine the pain, I was away from my Hubby for 8 and a half months in 2009 and I thought that I was gonna go crazy, funny how we Ameriturks are for our Darling Husband's! Why did they move petitions from CSC to TSC anyway? I think that caused more of a backlog than if they would have left them alone in the first place BUT we are talking about the Government.....:whistle::whistle:

I hope that you have a great trip and enjoy yourselves when you are there and call wherever your supposed to call like every other day and ask for a real person like a Tier 2 and dont take no for an answer,,, you know what they say... "The squeaky wheel gets the oil"

    P.S.

Where in Turkey are you going?

I am going to Izmir, that is where I am from.I am trying to take a leave for 3 weeks if they let me.My hubby leaves in Eskisehir,my mom leaves in Izmir. We will be traveling back n forth in between those 2 cities and hope fully in Antalya for a few days to get away from families and spend some time together ;)

  5. Hi All,

I was just curious to see how some of your are handling the issues around the interview and then if the Visa is approved, then bringing your significant other back here.

Are any of you planning on going to the interview eventhough you will not be allowed inside? How are you making your travel plans as it is risky to make travel plans to bring your significant other back here until he/she has Visa in hand? Are you going to Turkey to travel with your significant other back to the states or is he/she going to make the trip alone?

Sorry for all the questions I am just curious. Just trying to start planning and thinking ahead and suggestions/ideas from other members could be helpful. I am trying to determine the most cost effecitve way to do things but in all honesty if I am physically and financially able to I would love to travel with my fiance from Turkey back to the states once his visa is approved. Just wondering what everyone else is doing if I am not prying too much!

Thanks everyone. Hope you all are doing well and I hope you VJ is going smoothly ( okay, as smoothly as it can be...right? )

I was going to Turkey for my husbands interwiev sometime in March (at least we were hoping)but Texas Service Center taking sooooo long, both my husband and I running out of patience and since we don't know at this point when they will approve us so I am going to Turkey end of March.10 more days it will be 6 months since NOA1.I guess,he will have to come by himself when he gets his visa.Miss my hubby very much,it has been 8 months since I last seen him.

You're absulutly right! My 5 month mark was on Jan 11th.this whole thing,TSC got me insane  Going on 6 month

  7. Got the email from Officer Garza about a week ago and yet my case still hasn't been touched after the email. Sad part is I had a dream last night that I received an email stating my case was approved and then I woke up, checked my Iphone and nada. This situation has gotten me and wife depresses, stressed and frustrated and the same time. This has been the worst experience I've ever had so far. All I want is for me and my wife to be together.

I hear you,my husband and I,we are so frustraded also. You're not alone.

  8. I really hope you're right about it being days or weeks (this turnaround time between TSC and NVC has got me really worried for what will happen after approval). Enjoy your time with your wife! I know just what you mean about the concept of "visiting" spouses. The last time I lived with my husband was in December 2009. Since then, I've spent two weeks with him in June of last year, and then two weeks this December/January. Coming back this time was the worst because our time together only reminded me of how we are supposed to always be together. I had really hoped to be through this USCIS stage by now, so every day is harder than the one before.

I only spent 5 days with my husband last May,that is the last time I seen him other than webcam everyday.I only have 2 weeks vacation and waiting for his interwiev day to go to see him and hopefully bring him back with me.I really pray for all of us for our approvals this coming week!

  9. The USC was married in 2010 and should NOT file single. The status will generally be "married filing separately" if he doesn't want to file jointly. Filing jointly will be an advantage tax-wise. You will have to do a couple of extra steps this year.

•You will complete your joint tax return leaving a blank where a SSN or itin would go for your spouse. The 2010 UK income will be converted to US $$ and reported (under less common income on TurboTax). It is self reported as is the conversion rate. Form 2555 or 2555EZ will be filled out for the foreign income exclusion. They want to know worldwide income, but then you get to exclude up to $91k-ish.

•You will write a statement saying you are a US citizen and he/she was a non-resident alien on the last day of 2010 and you both elect for him/her to be treated as a resident alien for tax purposes. That's required for him/her to file jointly with you as he/she is not a resident yet by immigration rules. But for the IRS, the statement will allow him/her to be considered a resident as far as filing taxes goes. Otherwise a non-resident can not file a joint return. You both sign the statement and each list you name, address, and id number (SSN and A-number). Staple it to the end of your return.

•You complete a FORM W-7 ticking reason "e" and giving your name and SSN on the line beside it. You must provide identity with the w-7 and his/her passport will be enough. The IRS says this "If you submit an original valid passport (or a notarized or certified copy of a valid passport) you do not need to submit any other documents. If you do not submit a passport document, you must provide a combination of documents (at least two or more) that are current and that (1) verify your identity (that is, contain your name and a photograph), and (2) support your claim of foreign status."

•Mail you tax return (signed by both), the statement, the W-7 and identity document to

    Internal Revenue Service

    ITIN Operations

    P.O. Box 149342

    Austin, TX 78714-9342

NOTE: This a special division and not where you would normally file your return. They will process the itin in Austin and add the itin number to the tax return you sent with it. Then the tax return will be processed. It will take a little longer.

You have the best answer! That is what IRS told me exactly!I don't know where other people getting their wronng info?Married filing separately, easiest way.

Thank you so much, for the best and correct answer.

  10. Hey all you Ameriturks....

Are we all asleep lately, or just buzy little bees? Any news or updates from anyone regarding their process or anything else for that matter....

Lets see so what is everyone doing this fine January weekend....

It rained here in Bodrum last night like I have never seen... :hehe: and the lightening it was electrifying....... Anyway, all kidding aside

Drop by and say Hi and let us know that you are still amongst the living...

    BTW,

I know that we all talked about Ayran and how we either really liked it or really disliked it. The other day while shopping at Metro, We found Ayran flavored with a hint of Mint and Man is it good and very refreshing! :wow:

Everybody is quite because nothing is happening lately. We hit Our 5 month mark Aug 11 and didn't hear anything from TSC.There are lots of us August filers waiting to be approve by TCS.We're hoping anyday now!

  11. hello vj.i will get my interview after 3 weeks.. me and my decided to interview together...i called us embassy here in ankara they told me to call them back between 16;00 to 17;00 and i called them that time no one were there answering me ..it was just michane was talking.....can u please help me...how can my wife go with me to usembassy building....i dont know anything about that ....or without calling usembassy can my wife still go with me or no?

  12. Hi everyone,

I petitioned for my wife about 4 months ago.

It was 09/28/10 when my application was received.

It was 09/30/10 when my application was first noticed.

And it was immediately then my check for $355.00 was cashed.

I was following this forum and checking how other people's applications went through and how long it took.

My wife is living in Turkey, and I reside in NY.

As I indicated it has been 4 months form the NOA1 and I haven't heard anything since then. I feel like this might take longer, which I really don't want that to happen. I read from other people like most of the applicants by this time at least gotten NOA2 or some more information. I have not heard anything since then.

Does anyone know, or anyone from Turkey went through this process? Where do you think I am standing? How far am I from hearing or expecting any news?

It has been 4 months and I really would love to hear some good news.

As far as I know, as soon as I get the approval (which may be NOA2, right?) I will receive a 2nd package, and sent the document either to NVC or directly to US Embassy in Turkey.

Can anyone answer these questions if they know any of my situation.

    I appreciate all your help.

First of all you need to fill your timeline,so we know which service center your file is located.I am going same procedures IR1?CR_1 visa like you.I am with Texas Service Center and I have been waiting over 5 months. You can not send any paperwork to nowhere untill USCIS approves you.Once USCIS approves you, than they will send your case to NVC.'Till than you just have to sit and wait like rest of us.
