No, my CC was on friday and they gave me the "you have to wait until the second week of september for your interview date" I'll start calling next monday, twice a day every day

GC usually takes about 2-4 weeks to arrive in the mail.

You can leave immediately. The I-551 stamp you will get in your passport is a temporary green card. No need to wait for the actual card.

As long as you have your green card you can leave the US & come back. Be careful how long you spend outside the US. Being a green card holder you should spend more time in the US than out. If you didn't plan on residing in the US, then you wasted money on the whole process.

Typically you can leave for 6 months or less with no real issues, but if you plan on leaving for a long time and want to eventually come back to the US, you will have 2 apply for a re-entry permit before you leave the US.

hey guys ... i have question after arrive in USA what i do for Green card and how long it takes to get in the mail , bcoz when i arrive in USA i want to come back after 30days from US to home country thanks , any problem with that if i come back after 1 month? because i am not leaving my job i am taking 1 month leave

My case was closed august 10 but I never got any emails regarding that. When I called NVC via automatic service it said my case was closed. When I spoke with an operarator they told me September was booked and will do next scheduling at 2nd week of September but no guarantee that I will get into October. I know exactly how frustrating is it to wait to be reunited with your loved one but be patient, it's all will be worse while waiting at the end::))

but i called today NVC automatic voice response they said ( NVC review ur packet 19 aug 2011 , please allow 6 8 week allow and u will be notify? bla bla , whats this , but my case is not logging ..

You again have it all backwards. "She" is the US citizen, living with her foreign husband abroad. Petitioners file petitions but do not apply for visas.

To the OP, that your US Citizen wife is living with you in the UAE will be a positive thing regarding showing a bona fide relationship. Since you have a qualified joint sponsor, her leaving her job should not be a disqualifying issue.

Congrats! Call them and make sure your case closed. You will have to wait for the second week of September for an interview, or at least that's what they will tell you.

The interview will be scheduled by the NVC based on what the Embassy in Abu Dhabi tells them they have available in terms of slots. Once the file leaves the NVC and is received by the Embassy, you will be dealing with the Embassy from that point on.

Can anyone tell me what's gonna happen after getting a sign in failed? I got SIF last Aug. 13th but until now we haven't heard from the NVC whether it's case completed. The NVC told us though that they have all the documents needed for the processing of CR1 visa.

I'm hoping for a September interview but I guess my chances are minimal..

The file is sent to the embassy and the embassy will contact the beneficiary with a list of documents/information needed and also to set up the interview.

but i called to NVC yesterday they said we will tell u interview date , not abudhabi US embassy
