  1. We recieved my wifes EAD in late October 2012. We filed AOS and EAD together July 2012. Nothing yet from AOS yet and nearly 8 months since it was filed. When we type in our # to check out status all we get is still in their notice that they accepted it(the package) Is 8 months to long for our Green Card???? Starting to really get concerned.

  2. Delta was great for me. Flight was 21 hours from manila to toyko (2 hour layover) then to detroit (2 hour layover) then to arkansas. I had a travel agent Ed Mabunga do my flights and have saved about $175 under what I could find by myself on line.

  3. Tomorrow we will send in our packet for our K1 to AOS and I was wondering if any of you got any RFEs and could tell us what they were for so we could look again for those. I think as Petioner I only sign one time in the whole process (on the bottom of I 864) Any pointers at all will be appreciated as we have gone over this with a fine tooth comb but I know we are missing something!!! Thanks all

  4. Hello guys,

We are on this process of changing my status as I came here in USA as K1 Visa... We would like to know how exactly the cover page for K1 should look like?..If you guys can help us on this matter, sample of your cover page before ? would be much appreciated..We hope to get ideas from you guys as we too like you before for sure didnt want to make a mess on this process...

    Thanks guys!

  5. Ok so last month we were married and she has already gotten her social security number (under her maiden name) so this week we will go and get that changed to her new name. Now we will start the AOS process but I was wondering if there was any part of that we can file without the fee, or we will have to wait another 6 weeks. Hoping we can at least start the work permit part. Thanks

  6. 2 bags @ 50 lbs apiece for any international Delta ticket. BUT if you are going on from Manila (like I did to Cebu) the charge for luggage from Manila to Cebu is quite a shock. Nearly 100 dollars If I remember correctly.

  7. Hi guys,

We would like to know from you who have experienced the same before as K1 and married here in US. We would like to know what you did after you got married, what processes youve gone through.. we just know bout that AOS but not really how its done...and whats next to that....

We could be glad to hear from you bout this.. thanks guys, and Godbless!

  8. Nervous about my interview this coming Tuesday I hope everything will be fine. I still don't have the packet 3 from the embassy but some say it will not arrive. Done with my medical and completing some documents. Just have my appointment letter and the Ds156 ds156k and ds157. And now reviewing some question fr K1 visa. Still nervous,.

Its ok, i think most felt the same way when theyre about to have their embassy interview.I too felt the same way actually, but since my fiance was with me that time, was just last month interview, it made me felt more comfortable and relaxed having him beside... Just make sure you have all the evidences that you have and all docs needed, just keep smiling, feel confident in answering, and make sure you know all bout your fiance also...

It will be alright girl! Keep praying ....Good luck on your interview!

  9. VJ'ers,

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether the required Guidance and Counseling session conducted at either PRISM in Manila or SMEF in Cebu is an 8-hour/full-day session?

    Thank you

Hi! Im from Cebu and I just had my cfo counseling last week...the number of hours depend on the number of applicants, i was early like an hour before 8am so to make sure my name will be on the atleast first 5 on the registration list.JUst make sure that reqs they needed are complete so everything will run for her smoothly..then was asked to fill up a form..have your fiancee/wife your educational background (the course in college if was college)/ name of the religion (that made me fill up the form late for i had to call my fiance hehehe)..

At 10am, the seminar started, which will take only an hour then 11 to 12noon will be that more informations bout traveling and docs must be brought.. then after an hour noon break.. in the afternoon is only the one on one interview just few minutes then done, during this interview one will know if OK to be given that certificate and sticker . and when said OK, just have to wait for few minutes to get that attendance certificate then will be told to go to the CFO office just beside the old DFA office near Sto Nino church to get that CERTIFICATE OF CFO AND TO HAVE THE STICKER ON passport IF GOT the VISA already.SO, FOR MY EXPERIENCE IT ONLY TOOK LESS THAN 7 HOURS...

    Also prepare 650pesos for payments.....

  10. Also, if someone else purchased the ticket for you, did you check with the airline first to confirm and see if any other identification is needed?

For once you arrive in the US, make sure you have your school records, birth certificate(s), and any other documents you may need later

yes i have checked the airlines and went to their office to see if confirmed flight.. and its confirmed same details as i got on my email... thank you..

  11. You might want to bring some of those pieces of paper with the picture of a former Embassor to France or dead presidents on them--CASH. I know airport food is not the greatest, but it is better than nothing if you happen to have a long layover. Our layover in Frankfurt is 7 hours and it is nice to be able to buy something to eat. Also you can pay for the excess weight charge of your baggage should your flight pans change. I was booked on British Airways which charged me a flat $50 for my over weight bag. The flight from London to Almaty was canceled so I had to go via Aeroflot and Air Astana each charged by the kg--it cost me an additional 180 BP which is still cheaper than shipping via FedEx. Having cash will help in an emergency.

    You've got everything else covered.

Good luck and enjoy your trip.

    Dave

Thank you Dave for your suggestions.. right, i must bring some extra cash specially i have 6 hours layover.. hehehe

I hope therell be no change of flights....

    thank you.

  12. Also, if someone else purchased the ticket for you, did you check with the airline first to confirm and see if any other identification is needed?

yes got my school records and diploma just in case... birth certificate, nbi, cenomar that i have are only copies since the original were passed during the embassy interview and i believe its in the visa packet (yellow envelope) that must be opened only by the consul at POE right?

  13. Nope your sealed, packet, passport with visa, Id to get on the plane. Leave up to 3 hours to get through immigration and customs, if they are busy. Congratulations. A gift !!!

    thank you Bigdog

You have the CFO stickers, and plenty of pesos to pay the airport fee and the travel tax?

yes i got also already the cfo sticker and certificate,, forgot to mention it here .. hehehe

yes, will bring some pesos for that fees...thank you!
