  1. We are planning trip to Cancun soon. The question is my wife's removal of condition is still pedning. Has anyone had any experience going to cancun? any problems with immigration coming back? I hear that most of the time the problem isn't at the immigration at US POE but rather coming out of cancu (or any country for that matter). They give a fit about having expired green card.

    any experiences?

  2. My wife's case has been transffered from texas service center to vermond servie center. The letter said to speed up the process. But as i look online the it shows texas is moving faster by more than a month than so not sure why they transffered my case.

Texas is currently processing April 26 while Vermont is processing March 1.

My priority date is june 12.

    any ideas?

  3. What's up Lomesh, Long time no see back from the old mumbai days post. I can see from your link your wife has received the NOA for the removal of conditions, That paper is very valuable IT EXTENDS THE GREEN CARD for one 1 year. SO when travel take it with you, as long as your wife passport itself is still valid, you can travel with the expired green card ALONG with the NOA Extension Letter.

thanks for the info guys. Nikita2Charts, good to hear from you. I know, it's been a while. How are things with you? did you have to file Lifting of Conditions for your spouse? Looks like rest of Mumbai post gang isn't active :(

  4. Is it true that there is some new law that if you are a green card holder and have applied for your spouse, then you can apply for citiznship within 3.5 years?

Are you a GC holder petitioning for your spouse to join you? If so, you must be an LPR for 5 years before citizenship.

thanks. That's what I thought. Someone told me that there was a new law that you can apply for citizenship after 3.5 years if you are a GC holder and are married w/ spound in different country.

    Thanks again!
