My I-130 for parents came back!!!! I sent in a check for $355 and they are saying that the amount is not sufficient... DO i have send in two checks? I was under the impression that for parents, even though we file two application we only have to submit one fee...

please enlighten me!

I sent I-130 about 8 days ago and my check still hasn't clear. Is this normal or is there a chance that my mail got lost?

Wats up buddy? One journey ends another beings rite? It takes about 10-15 days for them to clear check.

with my earlier case the check usually cahsed with in a week

My interview date was on March 17th, downtown Chicago. The officer started with the test right away and i was asked 6 questions, then i had to read a simple phraze and write down on a piece of paper "Washington is on the dollar bill." I was surprised he started out with the test, but he wanted to get that out of the way and then take a look at my paperwork. He was impressed with the amount of paperwork i had with me(though to me it didn't seem much) and said that not too many people he interviewed so far were as prepared as i was . I want to thank all of you for writing here, sharing your experiences! It helped so much!
My interview took about 20 minutes and then i was congratulated and given the Oath day on March 26th.

Mailed off two I-130's for the parents 03/06/2009, I am pleased to say that the packet arrived 03/09/2009 and we got the NOA1's yesterday,
Their case has been sent to the CSC so we are hoping for a fast approval.

did u send express mail for regular mail? I sent mine on 3/03 but still haven't heard anything on it

Hello everyone. My husband is now a United States Citizen. We arrived for the oath ceremony about 11:30, scheduled for 1 p.m. I enjoyed the ceremony so much. I admire the way the judge spoke along with those guests present. There were 48 new citizens, ranging from age 24 to age 81. Each one stood and said "good afternoon Your Honor, My name is ...... and I am from........ I only wish many had spoken up because I found learning where each was from was so nice. In the process we heard one other woman say she was from Morocco so my husband made sure we went to congratulate her before she got away. Afterwards they had punch and cake. It was a beautiful day in Columbus, Ohio. We have finished our visa journey and it couldn't have ended in a nicer way. Thank you and everyone here on VJ for their support the last few years. Our best to each of you. I know I'll be checking back in when I can to cheer the rest of you on.

Congradulations to the recent citizens and those who passed the interviews. It's a pleasure to see most of us moving along at a decent clip.
I have a question for those of who qualified as a spouse of a US citizen. At the interview, did the IO inquire if your spouse was present at the interview location or ask to meet the spouse? I am planing on going alone to the interview as my daughter would have to miss a day of school if my wife came along for the interview. I have also seen a few VJers' experiences where the IO asked to see/meet the spouse (when they weren't there) and so they had to go back for a second interview with the spouse. I realize that the naturalization check list (N-659) does not say the spouse needs to be present at the interview.

Appreciate any color from the recent interview. Cheers.

In my case the officer did not ask to see the spouse. However, he did ask many personal questions. I also agree with britbird to have her on speed dial, just in case.... good luck!
