Our officer was very vague about what to expect next. She left us in limbo, she seemed inexperienced. How do you guys know you're approved ? are you explicitly told so
The officer said she had no doubts about our relationship and simply seemed to be 'compiling and completing' our file. She did however take my I-94 and my AP document, are these positive indicators for approval ? she didn't take my EAD however.
OH, and she didn't cancel my K1 visa on my passport.

my CS told me that if the skin test reading came back positive for TB, he would have to refer me to a pulmonologist, who'd then have to do a whole load of other tests. i can't imagine this would be cheap. i had my BCG vaccine too, but luckily i didn't have any reaction, except for erythema (redness of skin) which doesn't count. if i were you, i'd probably go to another CS, or stand your ground and insist that you don't need the skin test read, and ask for the rest of the completed I-693. good luck!
Yeh I may simply use the 'extra time and money' excuse
But the thing is, this very CS had already transcribed my I-693 (vaccinations) months back for AOS application and my completed medical from back home is in the file too, but the officer was a bit lost on the requirements and sent us back to the doctor. really weird situation, since I would assume this issue would have come up as an RFE prior to our interview, not AT our interview.
-
Ok Peeps...I'm having a dilemma
I mentioned a few days ago that on our interview the only subject of interest to our officer was our 'incomplete' I-693 (it had all my vaccinations transcribed but she was wondering about TB) which she sent us back to the doctor to complete. The doctor refused to complete it as she hadn't done my medical (I did it back home on K1) but kept pushing that I get a TB skin test done, which she said she'll fill out a new form form.
So she gave me the skin test AND an excerpt from the instructions for I-693 highlighting K1 applicants not needing further examination (ironically) to give to the officer.
We went back provided the officer with this info, I think she second-guessed herself, told us we don't need to do anything else and to just wait for either an RFE of GC. She even took our mobile numbers.
NOW I'm really frustrated because I have a reactive TB test on my arm (which will certainly be read as positive) because of my previous BCG vaccine. and I believe the doc knew this.
So I ditched today (48 hrs) for the reading, but the doctor had the nerve to call me at exactly 48 hours, and asked me to come by. I said I can't today, and told her that the officer didn't need anymore info anyway. but she eagerly begged I come by tomorrow. But I feel so cheated because she knew well that I had completed my medical, she herself transcribed my vaccine correctly, but then made me take a skin test yesterday (20$) which I'm sure she knew was going to be reactive (BCG vaccine history)and will be charging me another $40 for the reading tomorrow
which of course may produce a whole bunch of other costly procedures (further x-ray, possibly unnecessary treatment etc)
I have a moral dilemma and I'm wondering if I should just ditch her again. as far as concerned I'm really just wasting money because essentially I have completed my medical back home and the officer told me to wait for either an RFE or GC (why and RFE regarding this was not sent earlier is beyond me).
the other thing is I had the right to know that I have other test options as someone who's had BCG vaccine, which the doctor didn't tell me about- considering she knows my vaccine history (i've read this on CDC).
sorry about all this babbling- my question is has anyone felt they were being pushed by the CS to do more testing that was unnecessary, and is it safe for me to decline another visit to her office regarding this ? I know she'll call back
-
Same here, the Civil Surgeon we went to see as well would not accept the TB chest Xray and we had to do the TB skin test before he would even consider signing off on the form. Good luck and best wishes on your journey.
Thanks, did you get a positive result on your skin test ? and have you previously taken the BCG vaccine in your home country ?
because I took the skin test yesterday (although the officer didn't ask me to- she just asked me to see the doctor about the missing items on the form-which the doctor then refused to sign) and tomorrow I will go for a reading- which I'm afraid is 'looking' positive, although i'm sure i've never had TB, and have never lived in a high-risk country.
So I'm wondering if I should just wait to hear from the USCIS officer (she tole us she's either send us and RFE or our green card) before going back to a doctor.

Thanks all...the problem is the officer DID have my medical from Jordan, which was only missing one vaccine which I got done with the doc here, and completed another I-693 with first part and vaccine page.
The officer did say she will look at both medical reports again and see if she can go by that. So I believe she was a little under-trained or something.
I did go back to the doc and get a TB test done anyway, just in case. But now I'm worried it's gona be read as a false-positive because as a child I was given BCG vaccine which usually shows up as a false positive- which is why I think in Jordan they simply go straight to the x-ray- a skin test will be read as a false positive.
Like you, the doc here didn't want to look at my chest x-ray results, the cd I wanted to give was 'meaningless' to her. Which I don't really get. and which is why I'm upset that there seems to be no communication and no standard procedures to ensure people are treated fairly.

Hi all, we're really disappointed because we assumed we had all our stuff in order and were ready for our interview. The officer barely asked us any questions about us and said she did not have doubts about our marriage- she asked for new fotos, didnt even look at them just put them straight in the file, health insurance bank statements, she was basically filing anything we gave her.
Then she focused on our I-693 which she said was incomplete !?? at this point i really felt like pulling my hair out
(but remained calm non the less) here's the situation:
In Jordan: I did a full medical for my K1 which was only missing one vaccine. HOWEVER, in Jordan they also don't give you the TB test, they go straight to the source and give yo an x-ray. then the doc fills out the results, seals the envelope and this is given to the embassy.
When I arrived here, I completed another I-693 with the vaccinations completed, and that was sealed and sent off. NOW the officer tells us that my test in incomplete, and that we should go back to the doctor to fill out (what she marked in red) which was pretty much everything....and I told her I had already done my medical back home. but she seemed to not really know the results of that. so she send me back to the doc and tells us to come back when we're done.
I went...and the doctor, said she won't fill out anything because she wasn't the one who did the original test (which is true I did it in Jordan), but I asked her to give me a TB test just in case and we'd get this over and done with (gota visit her in 2 days for the completed form).
So we go back to the center, let the officer know that the doc did not fill out the form but did my TB, and results will be in in 2 days- what shall we do ? I also showed her the instructions on I-693 for K1 applicants, that only the vaccine part is to be completed here.
SO she said she'll investigate this further and contact us back
she made us sign a paper, but didn't tell us if we'll expect to get our green card or an RFE. she said it could be either, and took our mobile numbers down and I'm just really upset and confused about this whole thing.
It seems some officers don't really know how to put together a file and look at the case properly . has anyone else had problems with their I-693 TB test? or only did an x-ray back home and was fine with just a vaccine update when they arrived to US.
I'm sorry this was so long, I had to give the context though....and just really horrified we have to go through being in limbo for longer. we've been waiting since September and I find it strange that they wouldn't have sent us an RFE on the matter prior to now, if it was the only issue. any advice or similar experiences.... ? thanks

We showed up at our local USCIS office to ask about walk-in Biometrics due to scheduling conflict with our appointment time. They said they don't have walk-in days. They showed us on the form how to request a re-schedule then proceeded to do May's Biometrics anyway.
this is encouraging, I hope it will work for us too, we're going to be there early today.
-
No mistake. They just put an image of the fingerprint they took on the EAD card. The problem you're having is that the FBI's computer apparently can't properly process that image, but that wouldn't prevent them from being able to print it on a card.
Regarding your earlier question, biometrics are usually processed at a local Application Support Center. Many of these centers do biometrics and not much else. It's unlikely they would be doing something else in the morning. Unless they're really swamped with people they should be able to take you as a "walk in", especially after you explain your situation.
Thank you, this is a relief to know. last time I arrived to the center, the place was empty pretty much, just us and another 2 couples. I hope it will be the same tomorrow am. I will explain my situation and hope for the best. will update.
Yes I do already have my EAD card and two AP documents.
-
I hope you just forgot to update your time line because right now it says you haven't received your advance parole document. If you leave before you receive that you will have to start all over.
Yes I did, sorry, just updated. I do have my AP ,and interestingly my EAD- which has my fingerprint on it- although the 'rescheduled biometrics' notice says its for the purpose of processing both my I485 and I765 cases. So how can they not have obtained my fingerprints correctly, yet issued me with a EAD card...its bizarre.
Im wondering if they genuinely made a mistake

try an early walk in if your flight isnt too early
thats what I'm going to try and do, my flight is an afternoon flight (4pm), but i'm packed and going to try an make it at USCIS for 10am (however i did notice both appintments given were afternoon appointments- so I wonder if they process other things in the morning
-
I'm so disaapointed right now
we recieved a letter from our local USCIS office that the FBI could not process my fingerprint card, and that I will need to go in for a new biometrics appointment on the 3rd of January.
Problem is I'm travelling back home tomorrow for 2 weeks (for the first time since POE) and although they allow you to reschedule, they don't allow you to choose your later date. Only a choice to reschedule.
Has anyone had to go through this before? how much time do they provide before your next appointment usually ? and also im thinking of just dropping by tomorrow, taking both notices (completed biometrics and new one, plus my flight ticket) to see if they will accept me doing it on the spot
has anyone been thru such circumstances...please help with some experiences and/or advice

12h? I would sleep. They have nice beach like lounge chairs you can sleep on.
thanks, I would love to get a few hours sleep. do you know where these chaise lounge chairs are located
I do fly in pretty early, so hopefully that means I can get a chair earlier than most

Hi MENA peeps,
anyone have experiences to share when returning from the MENA region with an Advance Parole document ? I'm going to Jordan, and I'm just wondering if I'll have trouble if the check-in desk 'see an expired K1 visa to the US' and don't understand the advance parole alternative.
what have been some of your experiences ? and if they've been tough, how did you deal with such situations? any Jordanian travellers on Advance Parole
thank you, and hopefully it will go smooth

Hi all,
Im flying back home for the holidays on Lufthansa with a LOOOONG (12 hrs) stop at Frankfurt airport, and cannot leave Terminal 1.
Is there much to so do there? like shop, spa, food etc ...this is going to be the longest confined wait for a flight i've ever done
I don't know how I'm going to handle it without a little entertainment (besides the usual book/magazine)
Is Frankfurt airport bearable... any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you
-
No, a transit visa is not required. However, you cannot leave the airport. So if the weather gets bad and your flight is canceled, you will not be able to get a hotel to wait for a flight, but must stay in the airport.
My fiancee is currently in the air between Almaty and Frankfurt and her original flight was delayed 14 hours so she would have arrived Sunday evening. The Lufthansa people decided it would be better for her to wait in her home country rather than having to stay at the airport in Frankfurt since she did not have a visa or is from a country where a visa is not required.
Last year I had to transit thru Moscow as it was the last option in getting from London to Almaty. I did not have any visa for Russia, but was allowed to transit as long as my flight left within 24 hours and I did not leave the airport.
I hope the weather holds for your trip.
Dave
Hi Dave,
thank you so much, I hope so too. I have been getting so much conflicting information by browsing around the internet, because my country of origin is on the list. But many people are also saying if I leave from the same terminal in Frankfurt (which I do) I'm not even going to come accross an IO. I also called Lufthansa, I'm flying with them all the route there and back, and they said it's generally not required as it won't really be used in the transit section. But then I visited the consulate and they found so many ways to deny giving me one anyway...its just strange..which is why I'm wondering if others had similar status and passed thru with no problems.
Why we need a visa to wait for hours in an airport is beyond me anyway

http://www.germany.i...List__Visa.html
According to the german mission, a posession of a re-entry permit is enough, even for citizens of Jordan, so you shouldn't need a transit visa.
Hi thanks, Yeh I did see this, but it mentions the 're-entry permit' should be valid for 2 years. So they can't be talking about the AP, as that is only valid for one year of its issuance.
anyone been through this experience ? please any info would help, thank you...

I'm a citizen of Jordan and I'm flying back home on Tuesday to see my family. I have my Advance Parole document, and my EAD, but i still dont have my GC.
I heard that you need a transit visa if you are stopping in a German airport, which I am. I'll be on a Lufthansa to Frankfurt and then home, and same route back. But I also heard you don't need one. Anyone recently fly through Frankfurt home, and have any issues with this??
Unfortunately my flight is on Tuesday and I would not have time to issue one prior to leaving...
my ticket was cheap and is non-refundable or changeable...any experiences would be great, thank you !!

Hey VJ's
This may be silly but its my biometrics appointment tomorrow 1pm, and I'm really wondering what would be appropriate and if it evens matter- female here btw
will the photos serve as national ID photos, and go on everything or... ?
thanks in advance...and I really hope with the biometrics done, it means we are a step closer to receiving some news (AP, EAD etc anything
im dying of being stuck in limbo...its not fun at all.
thank you

You should have started and stopped right there. When someone cannot refute facts, they resort to a post like yours. So what you saying is that you are cooked and you have nothing to come back with in reference to a debate.
You lose.
DAMN ‘Why_Me’ you got me man ! you win...I lose
!! Game over, let’s start a new one...
But maybe after I spend my weekend more productively. you should consider doing the same.

"...and they all lived happily together...THE END". I must have been in a comatose state the last three plus decades.
who said they lived happily ever after ? you should read things people post properly before assuming what they are saying. Funny… I was in Jordan (predominantly Muslim)when the cartoons came out, no one took to the streets there either
Im not really interested in debating you seeing as you can’t digest other’s ideas coherently you miss the point every time. No one really cares if you continue basking in your own ignorance, there’s nothing I want to persuade you of, but I can try to educate you on some things.
Perhaps I should start by telling you that you’re not the authority on Middle Eastern Politics here, I think Middle Easterners have more to say on the matter than you ever will or can. Stick to what you understand fully please. And if you’re REALLY interested in why the Middle East is such an unstable region right now, you’re gona have to brush up your history a little (don’t worry you don’t have to go too far back- though that would of course seriously help you get a whole picture. But if you can’t be arsed, how about starting at 1945.
If you want to SPECIFICALLY learn about Israel and the Palestinians (and how that was/is the root cause of the region’s current troubles) which also I feel you need a lot of help with- then check out a book by author Ilan Pappe, an Israeli historian and professor of Middle eastern history and ME modern politics. The book is called ‘The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine’. …. Hey I didn’t say it, an Israeli historian did. And he deserves respect for facing the ugly facts behind his own nation’s presence in the region. Of course the book was banned in Israel and the United States for many years, and he was issued warnings by the Israeli government for pursuing its publishing. But you can’t silence truth forever, I’m sorry ‘Why_me’.

Not every country sees Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. While they did start out as a terrorist organization much like the the people (did you know George Washington was considered a "terrorist") and groups who formed America were considered "terrorists". Hezbollah is now part of the Lebanese government unlike Al Qaeda who doesn't have a country. In my opinion Hezbollah is very necessary unless you want all of south Lebanon to become part of Israel....yeah I am sure most of you would love that but it won't happen. Yeah and guess what people....tons of CHRISTIANS in Lebanon support Hezbollah. Anyone who opposes or stands up to Israel is suddenly labeled as terrorist....it's ridiculous. Of course most people on here only listen to Fox and CNN so no matter what you tell them Soffiya they will never see the full picture. Ok sheeple you should have a field day with this
The reason the US doesn’t want people to view Hizbullah favorably is because Nasrallah is actually intelligent, he’s an intellectual (contrary to what most might know of him). He has also become a prominent figure in the region, because his politics make sense to regular citizens. But that don’t fit in neatly with America’s dabbling in the Middle East, because the rest of the region’s political leaders follow America’s orders blindly, where as Hizbullah actually speak what they believe.
If people in the West were to know any truth about that situation it would surely jeopardize Israel’s agenda, and expose their own terrorism. And who better than Hizbullah to deflect attention away from Israel. They are Muslim after all (naturally-as is the majority of the region ) and since most people in the West already equate Islam with violence it works perfectly for America and Israel.
The Christians in Lebanon supporting Hizbullah are also part of an alliance party together with Nasrallah (the March 8th Alliance, making 50% of the Lebanese Government). Then there’s the other camp of Christians and Muslims (March 14th Alliance) making up the other half. They do however all sit in the same parliament together discussing the politics of their country.
A perfect example of SAME religion opposition, and cross-religious collaboration. But who wants to believe that actually takes place in the Middle East.
-
Great article Sof.
Interesting, when someone posts a view encouraging cooperation between non-Muslims and Muslims to fight terrorism, and suggests that is possible...suddenly there's not much to be said about the topic

I looked at that link and wasn't going to say anything, but I perceive your reliance on it to be an intent to drag down two other major religions (in the same way that you perceive is being done to yours). In addition, these two other religions are those upon which yours was based -- a point that has been stated earlier in this thread and in others. It strikes me as an instance of "I can't support my own argument, so I'll just drag everyone into the trash."
If my three questions of earlier are creating overload, then pick ONE to dispute or confirm.
Again, I fail to see why your highness expects answers to your specific questions, but can't look at other's evidence . Isn't your whole point here to 'reveal the exclusive violence of Islam' by removing certain passages from the Quraan out of context? and is showing you that the same passages exist in the Bible not enough to show you how that argument is futile.
you guys are funny seriously! "So would you answer my questions, please, I don't even want to look at other evidence to the contrary, because my questions are above all, and if you don't answer MY questions, with the response I want to hear, then your responses are invalid" , that's essentially what you're saying right
do you realize how childish that makes you seem? I think you can carry on this discussion with BY, you both seems to need everyone to agree with you, and you've found each other to agree with, so I'm sure you'll enjoy your discussion

USCIS called us ??!!
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
Hi peeps- ok long story short, we had all our papers in order, no RFES received, and we had our interview exactly two weeks ago today. The officer had a mix up about why we didn't have a 'completed medical report'- talking about the I693- which we correctly completed with the vaccination record, and after stupidly sending us back to the doc, and the doc refusing to do much else with the I693, we went back showed her the instructions for K1s and she found our A file with the medical report from Jordan in there.
To remedy the situation and save face she took both our mobile numbers as if she had more serious work to do and said she'll call us back if necessary but we should wait 30 days anyway. She took my wife's I-94 and her AP document (which I assume is a positive sign) and also made us sign a note that almost appeared to us we were approved- a note reminding about your next application to remove conditions.
Today I receive a phone call at around 3:30pm which I missed while at work- but I call back and its the USCIS but I couldn't get through to anyone, nor do I know the officer's name.Strangely they didn't leave a voice message, nor did they call my wife.
Is this something we should worry about ? should we make an infopass or wait to receive another phone call, or wait for the 30 days to pass. We ave not received our welcome letter yet, and this whole thing with the officer not knowing her $#!% and us being delayed because of it is pissing me off a little!
