  1. Yes, very true. I saw it on the list, but of course being the really smart guy that I am (haha!), I thought there is just no way we will need that document. As I understand it, they are going to send the CEMAR to the Embassy as soon as it is available, and then they will release the Visa to her. Maybe I'll browse the Philippines section, but does anybody have any idea how long this will take? Her CEMAR is supposed to be released to them on the 15th. As of now, I've got a flight scheduled to bring her to the USA on the 22nd, but I'm guessing I'm going to have to cancel the flight and re-schedule. I was just wondering if anybody had an idea how long it will take to get the visa after the CEMAR is received.

hi! me too.. i read it a couple of times in the regional forum.. thats why i got my nso cenomar before having my interview last nov. 4... anyway its best to have 1 so that you're ready whenever they'll ask for it... you may email embassy on how lost will it take...

  2.:blink: How is she going to get a certificate of no marriage if she is married to you? I'm concerned because my wife's Cenomar was taken by the registrar when we got our marriage license.

    Thanks,

    George

hi! your wife can still get a copy a cenomar even though your married already... if she don't have any marriage... it states there that she has no marriage.. but if she already or your already married.. it states there that she's married to you on the date of...(ex. mar. 2009). here in pampanga, philippines i apply for a cenomar last tuesday and got it last friday...

  3. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance: Wish you all the best!!!:dance:

I wish I could say the same but I still am not sure. I spoke to my wife today. Boy Filipinos are hard headed and will not accept responsibility!!! I am speaking of my wife of course. First off I tell her I am not happy that she waited so long to inform me about whats going on. So she said I already told you I am sorry in the email.:cry: Well you should know me by now. I can not let that stand. So I told her "I am sorry" are only words that have little meaning unless they are accompanied by action. They are not a get out of jail free card. Then I said oh I am sorry. Then I ask her to tell me what happened and she softly proceeded.

Turns out when she got her passport renewed last month to reflect her name change. They took her Marriage Certificate(NBO)at the Passport office. Then my little one only had a copy of the NBO. The Embassy wanted the Original. DAH!!!!!! We had already provided an Original but it was not an NBO and so she had to go to the NBO office to get one again. Then they told her that the Embassy will come by and pick it up. Really? <_< When? The Embassy did not tell her if she was approved or not and she didn't ask. I am getting warmer by the minute.:angry: She said the people there were not nice to her except for this Black man. She spoke with 4 people total. I ask if she got the original documents back and her new passport. She said they are going to mail it to her with the results. <_< I am hoping that the NBO will satisfy the Embassy and we get the approval but time is of the essence now as I have her ticket purchased for Dec 1. I told her to call the NBO Friday at 330 pm to see if the embassy picked our M. Cert Up. Then on Monday I wanted her to call the Embassy to see if they have it and when we can expect the Passport and other documents with our Visa. She said she would do these things. I am the bad guy now for a few day I think.

She said it was not her fault and I said NO it is your fault. You should have gotten another NBO if the one you had was used at the passport place. Why the Philippines have all the NBI, CFO, NBO bull SH** I do not know other then revenue generation and too much fraud. Glad we dont have to go to Washington DC every time we need a document.

    Whew I feel better now.

So in short I dont know if we have a problem or not Houston. I am thinking not but I can not claim approval until I have something stating such. Thanks for letting me rant... :bonk::bonk::bonk: I am hoping that this is all dont soon.. I am starting to feel old............. :(:blink:

    hi tomd..

sad to hear about that... but let me ask you first... is it really NBO or NSO? cause if your speaking about NSO Marriage certificate.. when you renew you passport or a certain documents here in the philippines they really ask for your original copies (which is NSO copy) birth or marriage certificate... and your wife should really get a copy of it so that she can present it to the embassy or to the consul. and she can get a copy of it for just an hours.. cause before i have the interview this morning, yesterday i went to the NSO to get a copy of our marriage certificate,, i got there by 8am and was release around 10am... to tell your wife to be there early so that she could get it right away. so that she could call the embassy,

dont worry tomd everything will be alright... maybe they only want proof cause as you've said.. when she renew her passport her name change.. maybe the embassy/consul just want some proof... =) cheer up!!!!!!!!!!

but honestly when i have my interview early this morning... i could say that people in the embassy are nice... the filipino pre-screener just ask this questions...

    -who's petitioning you..

    -where did you meet..

    -when did you meet...

-how many times did he visited you...

    -when did you get married...

    -is this your first marriage...

    -do you have children...

    -is she a us citizen...

then she ask for my daughter's crba and us passport..

    then she ask again...

... do you have pictures together... so i gave her all the pictures i have prepare...

then she told me to wait again for my number for the finger scanning...

all in all i got the 5:45 and finished at around 8:45...

  4. omg!!!!!! VISA APPROVE!!!!!!!! :dance::dance:

arrive at the us embassy in manila at around 5:45 am (interview time is 6:30am). got in at around 6:00am...

at i got number 26... at 6:30am i was called for pre-screening... the filipino interviewer ask lots of question...

after an 30 mins i done the finger scanning... after an hour i already have my final interview....... VISA APPROVE!!!!! i went out the embassy at 8:45am....

i would like to say my deepest thanks to all the vj member who help me through out this journey....

    ehehehhe... really happy!!!!!!!

  5. Hello,I think you just need to get her Philippine passport too. You can call Philippine Immigration so you can ask regarding dual citizenship. My kids were born and grew up here in Philippines but they have US citizenship and US passport because their biological dad is USC. I don't think you need to get her dual citizenship if she was born here. Call immigration for sure. here is the link:

ok.. thanks... and forgot to add she already has a philippine passport...

  6. Thanks for the luck. I hit 60 this yr. :( Not bragging cause age in nolonger something to achieve. I live in Hawaii from 86-90, I also spent a yr on Johnson Atoll. I lived in Wacky Wacky not Maui. Maui was not as crowded and nicer. I liked the location and weather but the locals were not so friendly to fare headed men. Had a great time anyway. Lots of diving and fishing when work didnt get in the way which was most of the time. It was expensive and I kept hearing that's the price of living in Paradise. Thinking of moving to FLA but property taxes went through the roof...

tomD... and the countdown starts.... november 1 tomorrow.... so im wishing you and your wife an advance good luck... were all hoping for the best!!!!!!

  7. OMG I got approved today!!!

The waiting was really hard. We were waiting from 5 am to 2 pm today. But my interview was just 3 minutes long (so fast). Just a few simple questions. And the only evidence requested was my daughter's report of birth abroad, not even a picture or letter!

Thanks to all the vj members, especially to Loto and all the people who help me. I wish you the best in your journey. And for the new people here continue reading this website because is really helpful and follow the instructions. The only thing that help us to fly the nvc step fast was Visa Journey.

Thank you sooooooooooo much! I love you guys!
