  1. Hi Guys, I am planning to put congressional inquiry. I heard that involving congressman or senator in your case can end up giving you RFE or denial of petition....is that true...please help me thanks.....

No That is NOT TRUE... I did it with my petition with the help of senator...

but u have to be outside of the processing time in order for them to intervene...

the current processing time is about 5 months... so anytime after 5 months u can contact ur senator or congressmen...

  2. Hi Guys,

I just want to know how NVC sents the documents request to the choice of agent. Are they send to the beneficiary or petionior via email or they request i-864 packet, DS-230 and Ds-3032 via email.

Both Petitioner and Beneficiary get email updated from NVC...

NVC doesn't send any request for COA form u have to fill it out and send it in urself....

u can either do it in snail mail or email them DS-3032...

Check the WIKI section on this site they have a sample and information on how to send everything...

  3. Checked DHL and NVC receieved my packet yesterday. :-) If I keep calling NVC will they eventually tell me that they've processed and forwarded the AOS and IV packets? Or do I just need to wait till I hear from the consulate? Should be about 2 weeks from now if no problems with the paper work....

well u gotta give them time to process the stuff... and im sure u know the usual give them 20 days to process the paperwork...

but from what i figured they take about 10-12 days from the day they receive the paperwork...

so give them about 10 days min...

  4. I sent Angie a PM about this.

The actual Applicant State form is the DS-156.

She did state it was mostly used for K visa's (Fiancee).

    http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/108128.pdf

i just looked at the form... and it clearly states "NON IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION"

well then i guess we dont have to worry about it... since both of our spouses will be IMMIGRTATING for good and soon...lol

  5. I did not do that form...this is what I submitted to the NVC....Document cover sheet, 2 passport photos,DS-230 Part 1&2, Copy of passport biographic page, original birth cerificate and a copy, original translation of birth certificate, original marriage certificate and a copy, original passport police clearance, and applicants statement. Packet was approved and interview date is June 6th in Mumbai. NVC does set your appointment. He does have to get another passport police clearance and take to his interview. When you print off your cover sheet their will be a link to what exactly they want. The only extras I seen on the link to the shortcut were the copies and the applicant statement.

    Hope this helps!!!!!

Hi Angie thanks for the info...

it looks like i have sent everything to NVC including the including Passport Clearance Certificate...

but i am interested to know about applicant statement...

what does that consist off... is it same as invitation letter or different...

if it is different can you post a format for us...

    thanks

  6. Someone told me that when we make a payment for AOS fee, we will receive the receipt. We got the barcode cover sheet on the receipt. But we can only open it one time, so we have to print it out right away. Is that true? But I've read from another forums that we can save it and open it anytime. I haven't open it, because I am afraid it goes wrong, and my husband can't open it later to print it out. So what do I have to do now? I really need help here.

    Thank you before,

dont worry u can open and close it as many times as u need...

its always better to save it on ur computer so that u wont have to log in/out to print it...

  7. When I found this site it was a life saver!!!! I had made multiple trips to immigration, always to be given not quite accurate information. Keep your spirits high.....it is a very long process. Follow the shortcut guide, and when you get ready to submit the DS-230 packet go to the website for the consulate in India (I did the Mumbai Consulate)....their are a few extras you need in your packet to submit also that are not in the shortcut guide. This will save you a RFF.

    Best wishes on your journey.

    Hi Angie...

    im going through Bombay Consulate...

What sort of extra stuff are u talking about... can u let me know please..

    thanks

  8. Hi there, this question is specfically to all India Filers.

My question is, on packet 3 on the Mumbai (Bombay) consulate webite, it still states that DS-2001 is a form that is supposed to be accompanied with the DS-230 packet (Packet 3) Anyone that recently filed is the DS-2001 for still used? I thought NVC was the one that assingns the interviews.

    Here is the webpage: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivforms.html

Here is the actual DS-2001 Document: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/uploads/-F/Jg/-FJg9hccHHMNW5nXLDlxFQ/DS_2001.pdf

Thanks in advanced for any insight!

    --Dave

I dont think so this form is used anymore or is required... as u can see on that form it was last updated in 2006...

and in my checklist letter it was not mentioned either...

but will know for sure once i see my wife's interview letter/packet...

will keep u posted on it...

  9. I am getting ready for NVC stage. My spouse's passport is just 2 months old. It was issued from Bhopal (MP, India) on Mar-2011. My consulate is Mumbai , India.

Do I still need PCC? Isn't it true if the passport is issued before 6 months or more then only you need to get PCC from the regional passport office? I have the Police clearance letter (From Local Police office) from all the places where my spouse lived for more then 6 months since the age 16.

I think u will need it... just in case... because i know when my wife just recently got her PCC... they gave her a lil certificate and she said that the passport office also stamped her passport for clearance...

but just to make sure i will ask her again about the stamp...

and i think it wont hurt u anyway... just to be safe then to be sorry in the end... and i know the whole process takes less than a week...

  10. Saylin

This is what I got this morning 10am (Paris time)

Called them to see what it means, and again operator unable to give me a logical answer. The AVR still saying that Friday 6 they received the checklist letter response, I never sent any letter, I just called and managed to get them to understand the error. I'm really sick and tired of all this S****

    Hey there...

I got the exact same letter but i will tell u in my case i sent in my DS-230 first... because i wanted to get an RFE(Checklist letter)from NVC...

the reason... without this checklist letter India PCC is not possible...

then about a week later or so i sent in my AOS... they reviewed it on May 6th and was approved...(the operator said i will get another checklist letter)

so finally i got the exact same thing today(last night)...

and before getting this RFE again last night... i already sent in my PCC to them last week...

so not to worry... soon the case will be in final review and closed...

i know its a bit confusing... but hope it helps...

  11. Hi all!

    So I'm a little confused  .....

What is the Beneficiary ID Number for? It was in the email I received from the NVC that had my NVC case number and Invoice ID Number in it. I've been looking here on VJ...but it seems like the BIN is for people who complete their forms online...which is not me as far as I am aware.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

Beneficiary ID is like Invoce ID #...

use ur IIN to pay ur AOS & Visa fees online...

  12. NOA2 Approval was 4/27....still no record of Case at NVC. I check AVR and call CS everyday. I'm getting lots of confusing info. Historical data says approx 7 days for arrival at NVC. USCIS says it may take up to 90 days for case to be recieved at NVC...sounds crazy, never heard of that. NVC says, depending on who you talk to, 7-15 days. I have sent an email with copy of approval notice to NVCResearch...they replied they would contact USCIS to try and find the case. I specifically asked could it be in AP and everytime they say NO...it's not in our system.

    Should I panic ?????

Call USCIS see if they have sent the Case to NVC...

and just keep calling NVC too...

  13. On form I864 (affidavit of support) on question 25 it says the below:

I have filed a Federal tax return for each of the three most recent tax years. I have attached the required photocopy or transcript of my Federal tax return for only the most recent tax year.

My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on myFederal tax returns for the most recent three years was:

As you can see it says in brackets on the form "adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ" but the thing is I have not used 1040EZ instead I have used 1040 so should I use the adjusted gross income from the 1040 form or use 1040EZ form since the difference is form 1040EZ only contains wages, tips etc from W2's whereas the form 1040 includes more lines like for 1099, business income etc so quite confused here which one to use?

    Use Ur Adjusted Gross Income

  14. So guy just a quick question... is everyone getting emails from NVC in timely manner...

because it seems NVC sent me an RFE on May 6th... and i havent seen anything in my EMAIL...

im not worried about an RFE because i need to ignore it... it was for PCC which i already mailed it last week...

    any clues...

Ha Ha ha... Never mind just when i posted this in about half an hour i got the Email...

it looks like im being spied on by NVC...

Quick NVC Finish my case fast and ship it to the Embassy and give me an earliest interview date.... lol

  15. The I130 I filed for my husband was approved and now NVC is processing it. I had paid the AOS fee online last week on April05, it is "still processing" how long does it usually take? I am worried because others have posted "paid" a lot faster. One other question: Do we fill out another AOS form to send over to NVC? I'm not quite sure. I just want everything done to prevent delays, because if I'm not mistaken there will be a cover page that will be issued once the AOS fee posts. Please if anyone can help, it is surely appreciated.

    Hi there...

so u have paid ur AOS fees on april 5th and it is not yet processed...

assuming that u paid the fees from ur Card check if the payment had cleared from you account...

if not try to paid it again, and call the NVC immediately and inquire about it...

  16. Hi,

If someone could help me with my question, I would very much appreciate it.

I was married in India in a government registar office. A few days after the marriage, I was given a government marriage certificate. I came back to the US and when I looked at the certificate, it does not have my signature, the bride's signature, or the witness' signature. It only has the names spelled out. Will that cause an issue. Do I need to get these documents signed somehow?

    Thanks

Dont Worry about it... ur marriage certificate doesnt need to have ur signature on it...

but make sure u have the Stamp and Signature of the Registrar...

  17. Okay so I am jumping the gun a little here but I was just hoping someone might help.

I have my interview at 8:30am on June 6th. How long on average does it take to receive everything back in the post (i.e. passport)?

My wife is here in the uk with me at the moment and returns to the U.S. on June 16th, there is still seats available on her flight but I don't want to book anything just in case there is a delay. The problem is that the later you leave these things the more expensive they become.

All this is of course assuming my interview is successful!

    Thanks

    Andy

im sure that u are pretty sure u will get ur visa... so check out in advance they allow u to pick up ur visa packet in the evening...

I know Mumbai Embassy does this...

  18. I sent my I-864 in and was delivered to NVC on April 18, 2011

My wifes DS-230 was delivered to NVC on April 27, 2011

I called NVC number a few times and only got message that package was generated for our case a while back.

I called the other day and then it said and RFE was sent.

At that point I called operator and she said the RFE was for my wifes DS-230 not being received yet.

I told operator it was sent in and received April 27

The operator then told me do ignor the RFE and wait aprox 20 days for it to be processed.

Operator stated that the reason the RFE was generated is because the I-864 was reviewed already and they did not have the DS-230

Later that day I received an email (and received the same email 6 times now).

In the email was the RFE (never received by mail) and it say it was for my wife.

The RFE stated I-864 was received and reviewed and that they only needed the DS-230

My question is not based on the DS-230 but around the I-864.

From the above does this mean the I-864 was accepted and going through(aproved at NVC)?

Yes Most likely ur I864 was approved... when u call u can ask the operator if I864 was approved or not...

i just did that like few hrs ago.. and the operator said everything looked GOOD... so that means no problem with AOS...
