  1. You just have to tell them that you will pick. I wrote down what was available(most of Jan.)and I'm going off of that. Now how many time slots are open I don't know.

At least if you get a date you can always change it. At least your scheduled.

  2. Wow! Another familar point in our cases. Our file took about 13 days to finally be uploaded in the system. I sent an email to the embassy and the call center did so twice as well. They never got an answer. I did and they only answered part of my question. Call the embassy non immigrant section. There is a U.S. number that you can call. My girl got through twice with the woman who said she was our adjudicator( true or not).

When I called, I just talk to the cleaning man I think in Tag. Funny, he had alot more to say to me than I did him.

By the way...... I don't speak Tag.

  3. I learned something today. You can only log into the online scheduling and view the calander ONCE. I dide this to see what is available, make notes and discuss with Sheena. Now that i picked a day and I try to schedule, it won't let me/I get various different errors(reciept previously used, code input is different).

Also , PH traveldocs is down and calls are currently being sent to Maylaysia. He tried to schedule but the exectutive system is down(no suprise there).

My password was reset and should get the new one in 48 hours(long time) and he will try to schedule and email me the confirmation letter.

I'm not holding my breath and I will call back in a few hours.

Does it really have to be this hard?????

  4. Waiting on his 2010 tax returns isn't going to change anything. She said that he made $32,000 from March to December. His 2010 return/w/2 be the same. How will this help??

I think the term "dependent or partially dependent" as defined by Nigeriabust is incorrect. This is asked on the I-134.If the child is 18 or more, he/she is an adult and the petitioner would no longer be responsible for them unless court ordered in a divorce. At 18(younger in some states), that child can do as they please. Quit school, move away or join the military without an parental consent or input.

  5. I am leaning towards 5 days in between. The time of the month I was looking at is well, her "time of the month" and I guess she cannot have her exam done then.

The medical exam can actually be completed without the interview scheduled as long as she has recieved the letter from the Embassy stating she is now approved to schedule the interview. You just need to bring it to St. Lukes.

  6. What is the least amount of time in between and still have the med. results in time for interview in Manila?

I am thinking a Mon. and Fri.

I dont want to keep her away from family any more than needed since they work far away/ she won't see them for a while after coming to States.

  7. Bulon, I will have to disagree unless you just got lucky. Call center agents cannot do anything more than you can. They can email the Embassy but so can you.

My experience with the call center hasnt been that profitable. They emailed the Embassy twice at 5 days and 7 days earlier. They said they would call or email me with answer amd they expedited my case. I never got any call or email. I emailed the embassy 2 days ago and they answered me within 48 hrs granted they only answered half of my question.

Either way,16 days after delivery of paper file to the embassy, we are finally able to schedule!!!

  8. I happened to try again to log on this evening and Holy Batballs Robin, i'm in!!!

Warning!! Once you input the benificiaries information, continue thru until you have scheduled the appointment which is when you will get your UIC number. If not you won't be able to get back to schedule online. You will get a new error message of " visa payment reciept number has already been used. Contact the call center." They can give you your UIC but prepare to be on hold for 15 minutes while they access it.

  9. Welcome to the club. i paid on the 6th, spoke to Embassy on the 8th and said they sent us a letter asking for her to call before they sent her the appointment letter. Nothing was wrong and she was told that this is the normal procedure. file sent over immediatly and can schedule 2 days later. It has been 9 days and still cannot. My case was expedited twice and embassy was emailed twice from the call center. Todayn I was supposed to call and get the embassys reply which I am sure hasnt been given. I', pretty PO'd right now.

  10. The US doesn't believe in having residents/citizens register fire arms.

This is not true. If you buy a weapon from a gun dealer(FFL licensed) the weapon will be registered with ATF regardless if it is used or new. If you purchase a weapon from an indivigual seller, no paperwork is required/no registration required.

As far as what pistol to buy, don't pay too much attention to the reviews. Go to a gun store and pick up, hold and feel what fits your hand best. Any name brand pistol(Sig, Taurus, Colt, H & K, Springfield Armory) will be extremely reliable.

For a sub compact I like the Taurus Millenium Pro PT 145 which I own. It is a 45 cal. but it does come in smaller calibers(380,9mm,.40). I advise any inexperienced gun owner to stay away from the Glock, It is a fine pistol and a Hollywood favorite, but the lack of an external safety or decocker makes the pistol more advanced. I have the Mod.21 45 cal and I swear by it.

Glock utilizes a small safety/trigger on the actual trigger itself which in a panic situation the uncomfortable user could accidently discharge.

As far as home protection, nothing is better than a short barreled pump action shotgun.Way more accurate close up than a pistol. Point it aqt the door or down a hallway with buckshot and you WILL hit your target. Not to mention, the sound of a shell being pumped into the chamber will scare away most home invaders.

Pistol locks are a catch 22. You hear someone in your has but you have to get the key, the pistol and unlock it(very small key) your dead. Most gunfire occurs at less than 8 ft. Your typical gun owner who shoots 40 rounds a year will miss over 70% of the time. My pistol is loaded, chamber empty and unlocked in my nightstand. I was raised around guns and I raise my children the same. Last time we went out shooting my 9 y/o daughter shot my .45. Touching any of my weapons is a big no no and they understand this.If they want to see one they ask and that is always a good time for a mini gun safety class.
