  1. You need to get a Reniec certificate only if your birth Certificate is different from Lima. Solo si tu partida es de provincia necesitas que RENIEC la certifice. You also can check in here, chequea esta pagina es solo de novias peruanas...

Exactly what Yoyita said....In Peru the Birth Certificate needs to be 'legalized' at RENIEC and then taken to ministerio de relaciones exteriories. We had to have one of the certificates 'legalized' also.

  2. Oh we have identical timelines! I received the emails and my check cleared, but still no NOA1 hardcopy. Did you get anything in the mail? I have no idea what center anything is being processed at.

    I just got the NOA1's today in the mail....rcpt date 5/13 :)

The USCIS web does not recognize the rcpt numbers, though.

  3. No we didnt send our transcripts,

    here is what we sent.

    Petitioner.

1040 form completed for 2010 year.

    Paystubs from his job.

    I 864 Form

    Co Sponsor.

1040 form completed for 2010 year.

    W2 past 3 years,

    paystubs from her job.

    I 864 Form

    I 864A Form.

We dont have my husband's W2s and 1099s from 2010. so my question is should be enough sending transcrips from the past 3 years from my husband ( petitioner) and from my mother in law( Co sponosor).

Yes, transcripts for three years from sponsor and co-sponsor is good. You also need to prove the sponsor and co-sponsors status as a US citizen, like someone previously stated, copy of passport info page will do. Good Luck!

  4. Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum. I enjoy reading many of the posts. I reside in California, US/EEUU. The application which is the subject of my new membership is a K1 and K2 Visa Petition. My fiancee, Yoli, resides in Lima, Peru.

I look forward to learning more from you all. Even though, I took an immigration law course in the past and was an immigration paralegal, navigating the immigration service is daunting. If it's a challenge for me, I can only imagine how agonizing it is for folks without experience in the field.

    Take care.

    Hello! Welcome to VJ!

My husband is from Lima too =)

Let me know if you have any questions.

    :D

  5. My fiancee is still in the final process of our journey..just passed the interview. We will bring her child here also on K-2 visa she got approved also.

After she arrives with child 2 years old and we get married I know she will need to AOS or adjust her status but is this the same proceedure for the child..we do the same forms and pay the same fee's $1000 plus for each?

The AOS for her daughter is less if you file at the same time of your fiance.

  6. As with most petitioners here, I wish to go to the consulate interview with my fiance'e.

What I would like to know is:

Is it mandatory that I attend with her.

Do they(consulate) frown on the petitioner not being there?

any input for experienced vj members would be greatly appreciated

No, it is not mandatory. It's always better if you go, but not required. In Lima, there isn't an actual interview. They process all the papers at a window and ask a few questions. It was more like a short conversation, nothing like sitting down alone in a room with the consulate and being asked questions. The actual consulate does not process the papers or ask questions. When your called to the consulate window she just takes your fingerprints and tells you to go to DHL outside the embassy. Good Luck!

  7. My fiance picked up his passport about 4 days after the interview. Once he has the actual visa in his hand, I believe he would be free to enter the U.S. right away. My fiance lives in Lima and the DHL office at the embassy told him to pick it up at the DHL office in San Isidro despite the fact that he lives in a different neighborhood in Lima. That was our experience and I don't really have a good answer to your question but perhaps if your fiance could wait in Lima for a few days after the interview, he would be able to pick it up right when it's available? That seems like the fastest way to get your passport back. You could probably discuss the matter with the DHL office at the embassy and see what your options are.

Exactly what happened with us. 4 days exactly and we were able to pick up the passport at a Lima DHL abnd you can fly the same day.

  8. Any foreign language document must be accompanied by a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and correct, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English. If you choose to have a friend fluent in both languages to translate it for you, this is what needs to be included on the bottom of the page with the translation:

    "Certification by Translator:

I ________ , certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and__________

languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the

    document attached entitled ________________ .

    Signature

    Date Typed Name

    Address"

I had a friend translating it but I did not notarize it and we did not get an RFE.

    Good luck!

I am doing exactly this myself :)

  9. Do I need to send the I-693 for a K1? My husband had the medical done in Peru and we have paperwork for that and the vaccinations? I see many different answers for this one on VJ. From what I have gathered the medical information should be forwarded from POE immigration to USCIS, waiting on my AOS papers. We do have a copy of the vaccination records, but it does not have DS-3025 on the form. Thanks!
