  1. OMG!! What a fascinating theme jajaja! I was wondering that too. I've been here in virginia almost 4 months now, and EVERY beauty salon I have gone to ask prices is quite expensive, comparing prices to the salons in my home country. The only luxury that I give to myself I may admit, is a good hair treatment, conditioning, color...etc. Since 16 I had been coloring and doing highlights to my hair. But here is quite expensive.! The first thing that they told me is to show they my hair, to see who long it was. Since its quite long, they told me that it may be around 70$ without highlights!!!, just base color and treatments.....So, I did it by myself for the second time in my life :crying: and I am ok with the result. Thinking on buying a hair dryier machine and iron too....Eventhought is not the same effect as doing it in a beauty salon by someone else, it will save me some pennies when I start working. (I guess)

  2. When you send papers to the USCIS/NVC they should be copies. Originals must be presented the day of the interview. Since you send originals before, I recommend you to have in hand originals documents, eventhough you spend more money, it is worthy! You wouldnt like to say to the Consular office that day, that you didn't brought them, because you thought they would have them. It is better to be save, than sorry! And with the spanish traductions the same. They don't demand to have translations, but it is a plus for the consular officer if he/she dont know a well spanish.

When I had my interview, I did had may traductions spanish/english of my birth certificate and husband's divorce. It was a waste of money, because they didn't ask for those translations, just original documents. But as I said before, better save, than sorry!!!

    GOOD LUCK

  3. So, you bring a guy from Ecuador, you sponsor him, maintain him financially almost a 100%, he is verbally abusive, he likes to drink............and if that is not enough he cheated on you. :o

What else you need to L-E-A-V-E him? Sometimes when you are so in love, loves may blind you. But open your eyes, because things are not going to be better with his behavior.

What is the purpose of passing for such a pain and stress in a k1 process, if once married you are not going to be together as husband and wife??

He should be threating you as a queen! Its in your hands to stop the process and send him back to his village

  4. [/you as a guy who is way too obsessed with sex.quote]

Isn't fiance a 39 years old women? or a virgin or what?

I believe this is not a fair relationship. You are both growups, madure persons not teenages dating, so come on ppl!! A couple how love reciprocally each other dont use sex to get something. That is not LOVE. And if you have a doubt, simply don't get married. Marriage is something very serious, for all your life...

    Just my cent

  5. My humble recommendations: 1) Get divorce, once divorce you can marry next day if you want

    2) Take your time to know your fiancee for the best of your daughter and yourself and try to make as many trips as possible 2-3 at least to gather tonds of evidence, pictures, hotel reciepts, letters, mails, etc, etc

    3) look for a job

    4)get another sponsor

At the end, you will do what you and your fiancee wants. We are just here to advise you. You choose wheather to do it or not...!

Good luck in your choice and dont get mad with us VJ members :P

  6. Sorry to ask, but who is the petitioner??

Anyways, I had similar case like yours. My husband had a lot of medical issues and because of this we expedite our case, which make all the process easier thanks God.

I remember that when I read the letter that his doctor wrote for us to send to the NVC; I told him, Do you really have all this? cuz I didnt understand all those medical words and weird illness that he have. Dont be frighten to send it, they will think that you need your husband by your side to help you with your depression.

  7. Nooooo! she wont have any problem. I also had 1 tourist visa denial, and I also was scared that my tourist denial would come up in my CR1 interview. But thanks God the consular officer even mention it. So you will be fine, as long as you show tonds of evidence with your fiancee. You mention you have visit Costa Rica 7 times which is great  So, just prepared yourself with all the evidence

  8. If you feel better, you are not the only ones in this boat! Me too jajjaaj! tired of being at homeeeeeeeeee, watch tv, exercise(sometimes), eat, sleep :( I have been in this jobhunting 4 months now.

Trying to be positive and never stop knocking doors

  9. so disappointed to read what katiemanny wrote but she is right!!! And sometimes you are prepared, from a great US college, with great reference and you go to x company with your resume and hopes under your arm and you ask: are you hiring?? and they answer sorry! we are not hiring right now, but you can let your resume and we will contact you when there is an opportunity........ jajajajaj BS

  10. Hi.... I just moved to the US 4 months ago. I have been trying to look for a job here, but nothing has arrived yet. Eventhough in my home country I have a Human Resources degree, here I have been applying in "lower" fields. I have fill applications in housekeeping, retail seller, telemarketing, waitress, at a flower shop, BJs, clothings shops.....even Mc D.! Sometimes I get frustrated, sad, disappointed, even mad at this f- state (we live in virginia btw). Thanks God my husband is able to support me and all needs in our home. But you know that now a days it is better to have two incomes in the house and (also that I love to work and I dont like to be a housewife). I feel like if I am having problems with not having a work history here, or no work contacts or recommendation. But, how the f- I am going to have if I have never been here before? If I dont have a work history???? Is this usual?? Is the economy just bad in the state of Virginia ?? or is it all around the country??

Any advise, recommendation, suggestion..........???? what to do? what to expect? :(

  11. Just save some money to go to Phills and meet her in person. If everything goes well, then you may start thinking in a "possible marriage". Online chats is just the begining. Real love/life is the day to day relation with a person, near the person you love, everyday 24x7. Once you had experienced that, then you can make a decision of K1/CR1/ or just a simple good bye.............

  12. It is not mandatory for the petitionary (you) to be there the day of the interview. In any US embassy the citizen can enter just by showing up their passport. But, being there gives your fiance more confidence and if by any chance the CO ask to make you some questions you may enter. In my personal case my husband was allowed to enter with me in the interview (and I felt so relief ;) ).Obviosuly every case is different. And I guess it also depends if you can afford a plane ticket to travel and its expenses, work permit, etc.....

  13. You MUST get the Police Certificate in the city that you live. I lived in San Pedro Sula, so my police certificate was from san pedro. If your fiancee is from la Ceiba, then you should go and ask in a post office of la ceiba how is the tramit. It takes around 1 or 2 weeks to give them out, so if your fiancee dont have it, tell her to go as soon as possible, because your time is running out.

I guess that this Dr. Tome is the only one out of the 3 doctors mentioned in the honduras embassy web that gives the medical result the same day, I think that the others give the result the next day, dont remember, but just call to make sure. The 3 doctors are around the same price range. In making the appointment I called like 5 days earlier. Your interview is the 27th of this month right? Are you planning to go tegus two times? one for the medicals and the other for the interview??? or just make one trip and do all in one?

    Wish you the best....

  14. Hi Zami. I had my medicals exams made with Dr. Fernando Tome in Clinicas Medicas. Since I had all my documents of child vaccunes I spend 4000 lps. I guess if your fiancee do not have her vaccunes documentation from child you could spend much more! Just gave you that info so you get prepared. With this doctor I made the appointment a week earlier and I decided to choose this doctor because he gives the medical results the same day. I get there at 7 am and had my results at 3 pm the same day. I did this because I was staying in a hotel, and didn't want to pay a night more!

The police certificate you most get it with time. Each certificate last 6 months. So, just tell your fiancee to make them as soon as possible. They are handed-in in around 1 or 2 weeks. If your fiancee have a friend working in a police department, makes the process much easier. Obviously got to pay extra, but it is worthy because you dont get to do line. The days you can do it, I really don't remember. Tell your fiancee to go to ask to the nearest post office.

You can read my review if you want in order to get an idea what is the process inside the embassy. Since you are K1, provide tonds of evidence. You never know what the co officer may asked. Make sure you verify hundreds of times your documents like the partida de nacimiento en forma literal, divorce degree if applicable, police certificate, photos, all strong evidence of your relationship.

I understand you sincerly, I was there, and I know this process is stressfull and you got to have tonds of patience because its not essy to be far away from your love.

    Hope I could help you.........

    Good Luck

  15. Hi Karen! Well I didnt do the k1 process, I did CR1, but I think that once in Tegucigalpa both have the same process. In the website they say that they are calling you, but I do call almost each two days to let me know how was my status. Remember that we are the interested ones, and we are not the only ones waiting so CALL!!! You posted this almost 3 weeks ago, so hope that by now you have a date for your interview. I did call like one week later I knew my case was there. They are going to send you an email appointment, which you have to print and give it to the guard the day of the interview. Since you are K1, I recommend you to be there, to give support to your husband in any case. Just imagine what if the CO says he/she wants to interview the petitioner? If you really can't be there, then provide tonds, tonds of strong evidence.....Hope your case can be approve, let us know any updates and good luck!
