  1. When we went through in 2011, we got the CFO sticker at NAIA but you have to know that the CFO desk is inside the restriced (ticketed passengers only) area. We did not have her ticket yet so we had to find an information desk and ask to speak with a CFO official. They came out, took our documents back inside then came out a while later with the sticker in the passport. Not sure where the CFO desk is inside NAIA as we never had to go directly there. Hope this helps.

  2. As stated, your fiancee can not go back into the Embassy without an appointment. For you to call the Embassy will do no good as there is no one for you to talk to that can do anything for you. If you can not go to the Embassy yourself, I would say that your only recourse is to wait and see if you get an RFE, approval or denial from AP. Sorry for the diffuculty that you and your fiancee are having. Hope it all works out for both of you.

  3. While my situation was different (my fiancee's visa was approved but the CO decided to hold it for unknown reasons), I decided after calling the embassy and getting nowhere that I had to fly next day to the Philippines. When I got there (my fiancee was very happy to see me), my only recourse was to hand write a letter to the CO expresssing my concern for the visa not being released and it was my intention to fly back with her when I left on the following Saturday. We got the visa in hand on Friday.

While it may not be necessary, and it is a big expense, you might consider going there and hand writing the CO a letter explaining the error of your not informing your fiancee about your past transgressions. He may see that your relationship is indeed valid since you took the time and expense to rectify the situation. Your fiancee will probably enjoy your company (and a good long talk) also.

    Good luck to you both,

    John

  4. I think she would like to move out and move on with her life but she is not finacially able to now. He does provide a roof over her head and thankfully does not charge her to live there. She currently has 2 PT jobs that pay minimum wage and could not afford to be on her own and pay rent, utilities, food, etc.

She is planning on going to school to become more self sufficiant but that will take time. Not sure of her reasoning for wanting Citizenship now, except that she can apply now and does not want to wait for the 5 year mark.

  5. Thanks for the reply, but I think her situation is different. For TY 2013 they filed seperatly. She has the return for her filing but I don't think she has his for TY 2013.

Maybe she can get it as she has his SSA# but is it legal for her to request a copy of his individual transcript? He will offer no help in her applying for her Citizenship. She must do everything on her own.

  6. We have a friend that is hoping to file for her Citizenship soon. Her marriage has been a difficult one in that her husband has basically treated her as a live-in maid. She does not even have a key to the house and had to pay for her own on the ROC, AOS and is currently trying to save for her Citizenship filing.

Anyway, the filing requirements say that she needs to provide 3 years of tax returns or transcripts. Last year she filed an individual return (2013) and previous years they filed joint returns.

Does she need a copy or transcript from her "husbands" return for 2013? She says she has copies of the prior year joint returns.

They are still living together but I suspect that will end when she has Citizenship and a full time job. I believe that they have a joint banking account that will show co-mingling of money.

    Thanks,

    John

  7. We scanned all of the photos we wanted to send and color printed them on standard 8.5" x 11" paper. We also made a single sheet collage of ourselves and our son from his birth up to the time of sending for ROC. We sent the color printer copies with lables as to when and where the pictures were taken. If they wanted the originials at the interview then we would bring them.

Originals were not needed as we were approved without an interview.

    Hope this helps.

  8. Just check status and got this: Your Current Case Status for Form CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

On March 17, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Does this mean no interview and 10 year greencard is on the way?

  9. Historically this does happen from time to time. I happened when we were going through our I-129F filing back in 2010-2011. Back then what it came down to was the service center was performing training sessions and would randomly select cases and move them through. Sometimes they selected older cases and sometimes very recent cases. Fair or not, that is what they did and it appears they are still operating in the same way. Nothing you can do except write your Senator and Representitive.

  10. As much as I can remember the questions were very simple ones. Nothing that was trying to catch you in a lie.

    Petitioner:

    What is your full name?

    Where were you born?

    Can I see your ID?

    Where do you live?

    Where do you work?

Do you have your marriage certificate?

    Where did you get married?

Does your family know of your marriage?

Had you ever been married before?

    Did you meet her family?

Does any of your family live here in AZ?

    Applicant:

    What is your full name?

    Where were you born?

    Can I see your ID?

Do you have your passport with you?

    What is your address here?

Do you work and if so where and how long?

Have you traveled outside of the US since arriving?

Where did you enter the US.

Where did you live in the Philippines?

Have you met any of his family?

Have you ever been convicted of a crime?

Have you ever sold or used illegal drugs?

    General:

Do you have anything to substantiate your marriage?

(pictures, affidavits from friends, joint accounts, insurance, etc.)

There might have been other questions but I can't think of then right now. There was nothing in the questioning that you shouldn't already know if you have been living together as husband and wife.

We are glad it is over and now just under 2 years until the next step in our journey.

There was one thing that kind of threw a hitch in our giddy-up though. After we filled our AOS we started to get everything in order. Insurance with my work, bank account, state ID and we already had her SS number. We had done all of this with using her family name as her middle name and dropped her maiden middle name as is the tradition in the Philippines. We were told but the immigration officer that we could not do that and that her maiden middle name had to remain her married middle name so all of things we have done with her name change must be redone to reflect her first name, maiden middle name and married last name. I don't know why there can't be something on the AOS paperwork that advises bout this? It didn't stop the AOS from being approved but now we have to redo SSN, insurance, all her benefits paperwork, state ID, etc., etc. Kind of a PITA.

  11. We are in the same boat as you. My wife just received her employment card and it is also not valid for re-entry. We applied for AOS, EAD and AP at the same time but they lost the EAD application so we had to apply again which separated the EAD and AP in the processing. The USCIS site says that our AP application has not been touched since they received it. I may call them about it next week. We don't know if they issue travel documents separate from the employment card. I guess we will find out. We expect to get our notice for the interview soon since our AOS case was transferred back to Lee's Summit from CSC. Not super concerned about the travel document if the AOS comes through soon.

Hope you get everything figured out as well.

    John
