Well you could be right on your defence, but what the officials did was their job. You might have to face hardship, so pretty everybody on here has waited 6-12 months to be with their spouse.
I dont know if you know how many sham marriages happen just to get an entry into US, so maybe money does not matter to you or you husband does not know what you make at work and maybe both of you are ok with it. To a officer its if you both live in same household and you talk everyday and not knowing these basic stuff is like hmmmm something sounds fishy. You can discuss with your co-workers at work, but most of them would have never gone thru the immigration process and in my experience most US Citizens dont even know anything about immigration as they never have to go thru it.
So calm down and whtever the officers were doing, they were doing to prevent liers and cheaters from entering the country by commiting fraud.
I would not want it to be so easy, that anyone can sham a marriage and come to this country coz they cannot otherwise get any visa to enter the country.
If that ever happens country will be ruined.

I dont see anything that should make u so much worried. Are you employed by US govt.? If yes then you certainly have nothing to worry about as you are working where country needs you.
If you are not working for US govt. then as well your perm house is still in US and while you are away on work in different country your family can certainly be living in US.
Thats my stand point, there are more knowlwdgeable ppl on this forum like Jim and Loto, they can share their insight.

Then why dont set an example of how peaceful and loving islam is, set an example of other human irrespective of their faith, belief or religion.
Unfortunately that never happens, its just followers of islam keep on repeating we are peace loving and there is no room for bloodbath in islam.

I was Just trying to showcase how when an argument breaks out between muslim and non muslim, every muslim will say islam is very peaceful and humanitarian.
All the religion teaches is to respect others and help them in hard time and on and on……….
When it comes to putting it to practice they run away from humanitarian ideas, yet they claim the religion is of peace and love.

Are there shortage of mosque in NY area?? Then why is this $100 project required?
If you think this is nothing but a publicity stunt, the creator of these project knew how much publicity it would give them, I dont think they are stupid.

Today is one person, then tomm there will be another and later another.
If you read the whole article you will see the Disney even offered her some other internal position where she could wear her scarf with same pay and she refused it.
She was hell bent upon the same position and in her way, that is the problem.
Disney did everything to accomodate her religious belief, yet she was pushing Disney to change their ways of working which is wrong.
If Disney accomodates her on scarf then tomm she will say I will not serve this dish and that dish (assuming in working in one of hotel)its against my religion.
So she wants to work too, and that too with her condition, she is clearly forcing her employeer to adopt to her way and its wrong.
Unfortunately some ppl even support her when she is clearly wrong.

    From the Shakir translation:
    Regarding fighting disbelievers:
Chapter 2, verse 191: And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter...
Chapter 2, verse 193: And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah.
Chapter 4, verse 89: They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.
Ok, this is a very small sampling. There are many other examples where Muslims are called on to fight against disbelievers, and establish Islam as the only religion on earth. There's no point digging out all of the verses. We both know they are there.
To be fair, there are just as many objectionable verses in the Bible (mostly the old testament), and extremist Christians can be just as dangerous as extremist Muslims. I think the most notable difference is that most Christians don't believe that God himself penned the Bible exactly as it is written, while Muslims believe that Allah himself is the literal author of the Quran, and Muhammed was simply a messenger. Christians have some wiggle room for interpretation (hence the many versions of the Bible), but Muslims have very little wiggle room - there is only one Quran.
The problem is with Muslims who read the Quran literally, and take each verse as a personal command to themselves to take action exactly as described. Because the new testament largely mitigates the vengeful and violent God of the old testament, most serious scholars of the Bible don't become violent extremists (with some very notable exceptions). The same doesn't happen with serious scholars of the Quran because it doesn't contain any verses to abrogate the violent verses, leaving them to conclude that the orders from Allah still stand - fight against the disbelievers, kill them if you must, and establish Islam as the only religion on earth. The Quran virtually promises that this must happen before Muhammed and Jesus can return.
My personal opinion is that both books are fairy tales, and neither of them serve mankind in a totally positive way. By the same token, I don't believe that radical Christianity is nearly as dangerous as radical Islamism, at least not when either are driven by a literal interpretation of their scriptures.

Soff I do not intend to insult you.
But it is insulting to state what you state "What is extremism in Islam" (you already know what is considred extremism).
show us muslim leaders speaking out against terroists attacks on anyone including muslims and nonmuslims and denouncing those extremists in such a way that expell or extricate them from the Muslim religeon or society.
Show us Muslim leaders who speak out against other leaders openly in public deouncing policies in government which support horrific acts against their own people such as stoning so that change is made and it doesn't happen.
Tell us how a police officer pressured by leadership not to arrest rapists of a child can seek guidance above that athority and do his rightful job and protect the muslim people.
I believe there are Muslims who want change and to speak out but are afraid of what will happen to themselves and their families but not speaking out when you can makes them no better than the ones doing the evil.
sorry Soff it may have came out a little more rough than it should have.

SO the London bombings, Bali Bombings, the failed NYC car bomb, the failed attempt to blow up trans-Atlantic planes, the attack on the pentagon and the destruction of two towers in this country was paranoia was it?
Thankfully people more in tune with reality are looking out for our safety, than with people out of touch with the world outside the west. People who clearly assume coffee and biscuits is the norm abroad.
I think going to Iraq was a bad move, but I am not going to deny the real and imminent threat to western countries. All it takes is one nuke and hundreds of thousand will have their lives destroyed. While you might be willing to risk that, I'm not.
That said, building this mosque so close is poor taste, rather than any sign.

It doesn't matter what we think or the moderate sane Muslims think. The reality is that there is a significant number of people who think the west is evil and that it's their destiny to destroy it. I see your point in a way, as it's not Islam per say that is teaching [promoting] this.
This means, it's not us you need to convince, it's the people who assume it's their destiny to do Allah's work. After all, it wasn't one crazy guy that orchestrated 9/11 or has fought the US for seven years now in Iraq and Afghan.

A group of New York construction workers have pledged not to take part in the building of the proposed mosque near New York City's Ground Zero.
The supporters of the "9/11 Hardhat Pledge" are planning to attend a rally protesting the construction of the $100 million Islamic center on Sunday, August 22.
The rally, which is being sponsored by The Coalition to Honor Ground Zero, will also include is the families members of the firefighters and other victims who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
"The Coalition to Honor Ground Zero, the 9/11 Families and first responders are heartened by the support of the many patriots from around America who will be joining the Coalition on Sunday to seek the truth about this mosque, its Imam, and his financial supporters," said Tim Brown, a firefighter who was at the World Trade Center Towers on 9/11.
According to The Post Chronicle, Brown lost 93 friends that day.
"Thousands of people are signing up from all over the country," Andy Sullivan, a construction worker from Brooklyn, told The New York Daily News. "People who sell glass, steel, lumber, insurance. They are all refusing to do work if they build there."
"Hopefully, this will be a tool to get them to move it," he said. "I got a problem with this ostentatious building looming over Ground Zero."

    The 911 Hard Hat Pledge
Andy Sullivan of Blue Collar Corner, is the field supervisor of a huge east coast construction firm. He has initiated the 911 Hard Hat Pledge in response to our spineless elected officials and civic leaders who have betrayed the people of New York in their opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque.
According to a Siena poll, 61% of New Yorkers are opposed, and 26% support the Cordoba House, a 13-story mosque to be built two blocks from Ground Zero on top of the ashes of the 3000 innocent lives and tragic heroes murdered in the September 11 terrorist attack. Mr. Sullivan is calling on all union and non-union tradesmen to make the pledge and refuse to work on the proposed mosque site or accept any associated contracts. He blogged the message:
"To my readers please send me your names if you will make the 911 pledge and refuse to participate in the building of the Ground Zero Mosque. Go to my message board and state your trade or job that you do and join us. Our leaders are failing us it’s up to us. I want my children to grow up in a nation of pride and freedom but as was once told to me freedom only comes at great cost. God bless you all and God Bless America!"
Please go to Blue Collar Corner and take the pledge and distribute this to your friends and associates in the construction and manufacturing trades. Our deepest gratitude goes to all the patriotic Americans who have already signed on and pledged not to participate in the construction of the mosque, which is a symbol of the triumph of Islamic supremacism over freedom. We know that America will remain free and strong by the responses of the red-blooded patriots in the construction trades who have pledged not to work on the site even though they may be unemployed at the time. Freedom is not free and this is the time to stand up for freedom.
    God bless you all.

It is not about her being muslim, it is about her not wanting to wear the required COSTUME. The hijab is not part of the costume so she cannot do this job since it is against her religion to take off the hijab in public. She was offered another job at the same pay and a job is a job is a job. If she doesn't like it she should open her own business, take the other job they offered, or go work somewhere that a costume is not required since she is not allowed remove her hijab in public. This has nothing to do with her constitutional rights, she was not fired for wearing hijab or being muslim, they simply offered her another job where a costume was not the requirement and she is throwing a hissy fit and making a scene for not having it 100 percent her way.

Companies have dresscodes. If you don't like the dresscode, then don't work there. You have no "right" to the job/to dress however you wish, no matter what your belief is.
It'd be like some idiot wanted to work on stage at a strip club and not strip because it's against her religion.

I am 100% with Jim, maybe kid was minor when he entered the country, but his father has been playing with the system all this while.
He knew his asylum request were getting rejected yet he kept on playing with it for 8 years. On top of it his kid attended the public school with tax payers money even though his family was staying illegally in the country.
The funny part is what did change when they moved to Texas?
If they were able to adjust their status after moving to Texas, why did not they do that lot earlier and how did they know exactly when their GC were getting approved?
I feel sorry for kid, but sorry dude but the present condition were created by his own dad and system should not be blamed for this.

Officer at the entry did his job and he was 100% right in denying entry to your husband after honeymoon. When he first got his tourist visa, he did state he was going for non-immigrant purpose.
After marriage that status had changed and so did his intention so his B1/B2 is not valid anymore.
You driving to Vermont and just handing the form to someone and they would stamp it right away - comon that does not work that way.
From begining of the story, you I can tell someone coming to US on B1/B2 as tourist and falls madly in love and is getting married to US citizen, most likely he/she is only doing that to live in US - comon.
Sorry I am rude, but m honest and frank.

This is my 2 cent, J1 or B is not an option for you, here is my reasoning.
1 - you will show the consular your are investing and a co-founder of the company, so then he would go why do you need a training ok you can go on B for limited time for your meetings you do not need to stay in the country.
2 - 30K is not a very big amount and if you are an investor in any of the company does not mean you have to live in that country to watch your investment.
3 - Like some one said if they start giving visa on investment of 30k half of India, Nigeria and China would be there with 30K.
4 - Best option for you would be H1b, but that too might run into some hurdles as far I know few years back you were supposed to send all your company details like pictures of your office, number of employees etc. Just you and your friend ummm does not sound much like a company, but a attempt to migrate.
I would say get a good immigration lawyer and he can be better help.
