got my letter of case transfer yesterday. funny thing is im seeing people left at csc who had noa1 less time than me are now getting noa2. feeling like the guy that changes lanes on the highway to what looked like the faster lane only to find out its now the slower lane....oh well...wife will be coming for 37 day visit on dec 3 that will make rest of wait easier. will be our first christmas together and new years....

I'm expecting mine tomorrow..

I'm thinking that the touches are the cases being assigned to case workers. Looking at thing and the fact that csc slowing down was in danger of messing up the "performance numbers" and immigration is a hot button issue, i smell mass approvals for cases that don't have any glaring issues with them as the interview process can be used to catch any fraud.

oops never mind its from september 2006 not september 2010....my bad

public release notice from USCIS:
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/CaseTrans_092906PN.pdf
funny thing is it states that VSC transfered 20000 cases to csc that were older than 3 months but no mention of I-130 petitions going from CSC to TSC.

Loto, have you seen the video?
very beautiful country, it is now on my must travel to list. thank you for sharing.
-
thats what im thinking, since we are close to 5 months, they sent cases to get processed to keep numbers good. at least i hope so.
-
was just notified that my cases were also transfered to texas. Message I recieved:
On November 1, 2010, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283

The "fear" I would be concerned about is carrying the cash. Why not wire transfer any amount more than she needs to have with her?
That said, we carry loads of cash to China when we go but I have a system for doing so that neither of us fears.
oops....yes was always planning on wire transfer....we are talking about a lot of money no way i want my wife having to walk around with that much cash...specially since she will have to come into LAX I get nervous once i walk out the doors of customs there all those guys trying to get you to give money to the what ever charties and just the others milling around right there...though thats another thread about how that airport could make the area better........

I love VJ I'd be lost with out it in this whole process. Thank you for all the great answers, my wifes fears are now relieved. we were always planning on declaring the money...dont wanna piss Uncle Sam off...lol. But since she doesn't have to pay capitol gains on the house as it was her primary residence and we want to use the money to get a house here, and a car, and decorate the house and put some away I wanted to make sure that it wouldn't be taxed. IMO Govt. gets its share of my money now and we need it more that they do to get our life started on the right foot.
-
I130 filed in May 2010 and no NOA2 as of yet
well you at almost 6 months now, what does the USCIS site say about your petition? have you called USCIS to make an inquiry into status?

Any amount of money greater than 10,000 US dollars must be reported on your customs declaration documents when entering the USA. The penalty for not declaring is more than you care to lose.
The funds would not be considered income but would be an asset and could be transfered from bank in her country to a US bank via wire transfer.
Since the transaction took place in her country and any taxes would have been paid there, there should be no tax liability in the USA.
Thank you and yes we will be declearing the money, i just dont want to have to pay US taxes on it as they pay enough taxes in australia.
-
I was wondering if enyone had any experience with this. My wife has sold her house in australia. we want to use the money to buy a house here, but I dont want the Govt. to look at this money as income as it isnt its the money she is bringing into the country with her as part of her move.

WOW congratulations!!!
Can't believe it!!! Is CSC approving July filers already???? But there are still Maye and June filers waiting, no?
they are June filers not July.....but it still means our turn is coming soon....
-
Got some good news, the wife is coming in December to spend Christmas with me...she will bring copies of bank statements lease agreement letter from employer and cell phone bills to prove she will be returning to Australia. but all this got me wondering since we didn't have to give her passport number how will the guy at the gate know she has a visa in process? should she just tell them of if it doesn't come up just keep quiet. she will have a return ticket for jan 10 also and will be using the VWP as she will only be staying 37 days...which is the longest we have actually been in physical presence of each other.....also she will have the tears ready just in-case they try and turn her back...lol

God, I'm going crazy from the waiting... Not only did our I-130 go to the slowest processing centre, but then I have to wait all those months until I get my interview at the Montreal consulate. So unfair. I feel like I'm never going to be with my husband.
I know the feeling, the Govt is so illogical. Families should be able to be together as fast as possible, once the process gets out of USCIS the foreign family member should be issued a temp visa and allowed to wait for the rest of the process in the states with there loved one. I think after the election ill write my senator and congressmen on this and see if they might just look at this as part of immigration reform. oh well for right now though we all just have to grin and bare it the process will be over and after will just be a memory......
-
From what I saw in another thread, it is taking them 3+ months. You think you are done with waiting and then they make you wait all that time for the final part...gotta love it.
I have had one touch back on July 7th lol. That is it.
same here only one touch on july 9th this process shows exactly why the govt is the worst group to run anything, completely inefficient.

Just found some interesting info and thought id share:
Deciphering USCIS Case Receipt Number
Whenever you a file a petition (such as I-485, Adjustment of Status) with USCIS, you get a Receipt Notice[1] (Notice of
Action - Form I797-C) that has a 'Receipt Number'. The characters in the receipt number has significance. Actual meaning of
such characters depends upon the software system by USCIS to process the case.
CLAIMS3 - LAN Version
Example of such receipt number is
EAC 08 015 50023
First three letters represent the service center received the case.
There are four service centers:
EAC - Vermont Service Center[2] (Previous name: Eastern Adjudication Center).
LIN - Nebraska Service Center[3] (LIN refers to Lincoln, Nebraska).
SRC - Texas Service Center[4] (Previous name: Southern Regional Center).
WAC - California Service Center[5] (Previous name: Western Adjudication Center).
08 - Represents the fiscal year in which the case was received. Fiscal year 2008 runs from Oct 1, 2007 to Sep 30, 2008.
015 - Represents the computer workday in the fiscal year on which the fee was taken. 001 is October 1, the first working day
of the fiscal year. 015 represents 15th working day which was actually Oct 19, 2007. Computer work day is really a business
day and it excludes most Saturdays, all Sundays and holidays. Towards the end of the fiscal year in September, the number
goes up to around 265.
50023 - Represents the particular case number. The number always starts with 5 and it has a total of five digits.
Therefore, this receipt number means: this case was the 23rd case received in CLAIMS3 LAN on the 15th computer work day
of fiscal year 2008 at Vermont Service Center.
Most cases filed at USCIS have this type of receipt number, except few as described below.
You can track the status of this type of case online[6].
though this doesnt actually work perfectly and is a few years old it has shed some light ill use my numbers as an example
WAC 10 9 01 42632 = CSC 2010 July 01 42632
WAC 10 9 01 42633 = CSC 2010 July 01 42633
just something to keep us all thinking
-
blah......the wait continues. I might just give up before all is said and done...
Keep the faith, we have the same NOA1 date so we will be celebrating together very soon, it does get discouraging but in the end its so worth it to be with our loved ones.
-
Just checked case status and still nothing. Leaving for Bangkok tonight and should be back in about 2 weeks. Going to get all my sons medical records and see if we can get this ####### expedited when I return.
have a good and safe trip
-
Do you think by Valentine's Day your process will be done?
I do, australian consulate moves pretty fast, not many aussies trying to get out. Im figuring that NOA2 by 2nd week in Nov. so giving other average times might be a late valentines but still close enough to count>>lol...
plus ya gotta hold hope in something and since i know christmas is not gonna happen im putting my wishes on valentines.
-
Hey there, everyone is so silent! No news? No approvals? Even expedited ones? hehehe
yep, everyone is in a waiting pattern now, guess I'm a bit silent because I'm realizing that Ill be spending another set of holidays alone again...but at least i know that i will have my wife with me for valentines day.

i know the feeling.....but i cant help but look at both the spreadsheet and the uscis site....lol
