  1. Hi ii recived my I-797C NOTICE OF ACTION ON 7--6-2010 DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT IT WILL TAKE TO HEAR FROM MANILA NOW MY FIANCE AND I ARE REALLY PRAYING IT WILL BE SOON BUT THIS IS ALL NEW TO ME.THANKS BRIAN H

Brian, I-797C is Notice Of Action 1. You still need to wait for the I-797/NOA2 from USCIS before it gets forwarded to NVC. Then NVC will forward it to USEM Manila. :innocent: Good luck!!

  2. Yung fiancee ko 25 years old, Filipino rin siya but he's a U.S. Citizen and working in the U.S. Army.

Aww good luck :) My fiancé's 24yo and Pinoy din, half Spanish, but he grew in the States. I'm about to do the interview too. Tama sila kaya natin toh.. why should we be nervous if we know our hubbies very well. Just complete all the things that they ask from you and be confident.

  3. Hi pookaphilus and 070809...asawa ko was born and raised in Bacolod. She is a malambing Ilongga. Are you Ilonggo too?

Hello :) Yup yup, we're all malambing. Although I grew up in Quezon City, both my parents are Ilonggo. Tell her my mom was from Binalbagan and my dad is from Iloilo. But here's the thing, my fiancé is Ilonggo too. Woot! He's half Spanish, born in Bacolod but grew up in Kabankalan then when he was 14 moved to Florida. Ilonggos are the sweetest :innocent:

  4. just wanna ask, where can you find that manila case number??...we got our NOA2 letter last July19,2010(notice was dated approved July12,2010)..we are still waiting news about our case @NVC...btw,what are the things that my fiance would send me prior to the interview??..thank you..Godbless..

Here you go, this is the link of NVC's contact info -- http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html

My fiancé called them and they told us case has been forwarded here in USEmba Manila and we were given the MNL case number after. You could check Toni's or my blog for the things you need. Good luck!

  5. We use xoom.com but had problems for a couple of months coz J used it when he was here and needed some extra cash since he dropped his wallet with credit card/debit card on a cab when we were going to MOA. The transfer went through but i guess when they caught that the IP address was from the Philippines they cancelled ALL other transactions. They told us via email that they don't do intracountry transfer. So it was all fixed just recently, he was asked to scan and email back his ID and a bill on his US address. All good! The thing about xoom is that I can get it directly from my bank the next day and only costs J around $4 to send any money to me.

  6. Hi!! I think your original deal is cheaper, my fiance's is 16c/min but he uses Owtel so it's like it also eats up his Tmobile free 1000 minutes. But he only uses it when I'm out of the house which is not that often so in a month he only pays $14! :P And Vonage asks too much at 20c/min.

:ot2: But see there's this new thing that is offered by Globe. They call it Super IDD which is Php99 pesos a day on prepaid so it's like you only register when you need it. This service is unlimited international direct dialing from Globe sim card to a US number. The catch is THEY (family in Philippines) need to call you in the states and only *From 11:00 PM to 5:59 AM (Philippine Time). Whatver goes beyond those times are charged on their regular IDD rates. Also, on the website it says only until 10June but Globe extended it as it still runs ads on TV back here. So I dunno what time it will be in your state when it's 11PM here.. dunno if this will work but yeah it's cheap!

  8. I was back reading some old posts and this is soooo interesting.. My fiance is half-pinoy/half-spanish who just grew up in the states. He has the same problem with Pinoy Guys in the states!! GUYS!! He'll be in the gym, and other Pinoys would gang up on him (because I guess he looks Mexican haha) and would start talking sh*t in Tagalog about him!! So what he'd do is show off his 3stars & a sun tattoo so that they'll know what they are dealing with.. the other Pinoys would just ask "Ay Pinoy ka rin?" He'd just nod coz he coz he speaks awful Tagalog, he's more fluent in Ilonggo!! HAHA

:ot2: But see the thing is, people change when they step in the US of A. They feel that all of a sudden they can step on people.. but they are soooo wrong. Sometimes, all we need to have is patience. Sabi nga nila diba, wag patulan kasi di mo ka-level!!

  9. i sent many things many different time but mirasol has never complained about being taxed. of course we are still waiting for her christmas package to arrive there :( i guess the post guy figured it was worth taking home instead.

Sorry to hear that. If somebody did, trust me karma goes around.

  10. My fiance sent me a package thru USPS almost 3 years ago, but it took a month before I received it. After that, he would send thru FedEx. But last year, the customs had me pay almost Php5K just so I can get the jewelries and chocolates he sent :( He said there was an insurance or something so he had to declare the real value of the package

OUCH!! :crying: With that fee you could have just bought yourself another set of jewelry or TONS of chocolates!!

The very first thing he sent me was a pink iPod Nano that costs $160, declared the true value because of insurance. He paid DHL $60 bucks. And I paid PhP650 for taxes. Hayyyy! And it was supposed to be a surprise!! BUT I was indeed surprised that I needed to pay them! :P So from then on, everything was sent via USPS.
