You have a reputable attorney with a lot more information about this than we have. Instead of asking for advice here you should be asking your attorney what is the purpose in postponing the interview, and what do they intend to do differently based on what they learn about this "tragic accident". Perhaps they want to see if the "accident" is an inadmissible crime, and if a waiver might be required. Most attorneys would want to have the waiver request prepared and ready to submit at the interview after the visa is denied. That would be an understandable reason for postponing the interview.

That's easy for you to say. You got your NOA1 on 4/26/10 and got the NOA2 on 8/4/2010.....a total wait time of around 3 1/2 months. Most people on VJ nowadays will have to wait 5+ months to get an NOA2. Everybody has their own way of dealing with the frustration of waiting. Just let them deal with it in their own way. It's all good
