  1. Something that has occured to us today has caught us out a little, so need some feedback from anyone that might know.

When we file for the K1 visa my fiancee will be my sponsor, she doesn't make the required amount for a two person household; but we have enough in savings to make it up. So that's all fine.

The problem however is her Dad, when we first get over there we will be living with him until we get on our feet. But he's not co-sponsoring the visa or wanting to be involved with it. Financially we'll be entirely independant of him, however we will be in the same household. So how does that work with calculating the 125% of the US Poverty line for the purposes of the i-134?

  2. As you may know I am in the process of my K1 visa application

But, we have a fairly simple question which we're struggling to find an answer too.

My fiancee is my sponsor and she doesn't earn enough for the full $18.5k, she's probably about $5000 short.

So we need to make up the short fall in cash, we're read some places that its 5x and others 3x

The question is, does the visa sponsor have to have this money? As I have plenty to cover it, although it's in Sterling, also would the currency be a problem?

    Thanks

  3. Hi everyone, just signed up today. Got a really stupid question...

I've got a bit of a problem with some forms I need to fill in.

The American and myself are starting work on everything we need for the I-129F , and I'm currently filling out the G235A and we've come upon a problem.

I live in greater london so clearly the city I live in is London, however I need to state where my Dad lives. He lives in Margate. Margate isn't a city it's a town, so am I supposed to put Margate as thats where he actually lives, or Canterbury, as that's the cloest city?

Seems like a really obvious thing but I don't want my forms to be rejected on some stupid technicality
