  1. oh - you can review YOUR I-864 stuff, prior to the jump, that's always useful (you have some time to order the tax transcripts, thankfully -

     http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html

) and then get any 'letter of employment' plus yer recent pay stubs and/or assets declaration/computations.

    I-864 stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

Maybe one good review, as well, for EP? http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing and don't forget that @^@#$#$ GUZ IV P3 supplemental form, it's a stupid PITA ! ! !

    Good Luck !

Got all of my I-864 stuff complete, signed, and scanned. Tax transcripts, payroll history, etc.

Is the GUZ IV P3 supplemetal form the one that is requesting:

    Case Number

    Visa Category

Name of each Applicant - English & Chinese

    Current Mailing Address

    Date of Marriage (if applicable)

    Local Telephone Number

We are ready for the next phase. Talked to Human last week at USCIS. Told me to expect an update Tuesday/Wednesday.

  2. Teya - I am ok with it. I dont expect to hear anytime soon anyway. I will hear when my turn comes but its just wierd how slow they are at approving cases. Oh well. Have other things in mind right now. So not worried at all.

Just got off the phone with USCIS. Told me that they are working on 3-16-2010 applications. (I think we heard that before.)

They put in a request for information and estimated completion date. I should hear Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully.

  3. Marie_Yahya,

Thank you for expressing the frustration that is inside all of our heads about this.

It really doesn't make sense to the honest people of the world. That is the frustrating part about this process. I am hopeful that this "issue" will be resolved soon.

I am fortunate that my job sends me to the place I most want to be: with my wife! I can't imagine going through all of this without the technology that we have today. I am able to talk, SMS, or video chat with my wife almost everyday. That relieves some of the burden on my heart.

You can believe that I will be on the phone the day my 5 months date has arrived! I hate to even wait that long for just this step in the process.

In reality, all we can do is pray and wait. We are not alone.

  4. Couldn't help it, I had to look at the historical timelines for IR1/CR1 visas on VJ. It says that they are now processing April 27th NOA1! They are WAAAAAAAAAAY off. I think we are going to see a major change in those graphs.

    Have to love the statement:

"The statistics below are generated from the member supported timeline section and reflect actual data provided by members just like you! Remember to add or update your timeline here. "

I must have missed the NVC train!

  5. Something must be up with CSC for having to wait so long for NOA2. I did have the experience a few years ago, in the business world, of trying to contact a vendor in California. For three days, all my calls went to voicemail without a response. Finally got a call back and found out that the "surf was up" and everyone went surfing. Maybe that's what is happening. The "surf has been up" for the last four weeks!

I keep looking at Igor's list. I don't like to be towards the end of any list, but somebody has to do it.

Let's go CSC!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to flood the NVC mailbox with emails!

  6. Hey Greg - ya - there's a topic in the China forum about it - I'll post the link in a moment.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/228853-notarial-birth-certificate/

Read ALL of that, including the links given.

There's some chinese in there, should clear up much.

basically, she's gonna get 'white books' made. This is a 'Notarial Translation Document', GUZ IV knows all about them. INSIDE, is a certified copy of the original document, plus an english translation, plus a notarial statement about the translator. Once those are done - take to copy shop, scan them, email to you. (fastest and easiest way, unless she has scanner and puter at home). I strongly suggest she wait on getting the white books, until the NOA-2 date, but she can knock around a bit in her district, find the right office, prior.

Thanks much, Darnell! Somehow I knew you would come to the rescue!

I like your idea about waiting until NOA-2. There is a chance that I will be in China when that happens. Then we can figure this out together. I will still give her the homework of scoping out the right office before I arrive. I think we were there (or close to it) when we were checking out where to get married.

    Thank you again!

  7. Hey Greg

sorry, I can't speak Chinese.

I am curious though: how do you guys communicate? Sounds like her English isn't the best and your Chinese isn't either.

    Just curious.

I can speak Chinese pretty well; enough to get me in trouble, just not out of it!

It's these technical issues that get in the way sometimes. We have to rely on text messaging and online translators. Other than that, she understands most of what I say to her and I figure out what she is saying to me. After three years, we know what the other person is saying.

  8. Waiting for our I-130 approval and wanting to get things ready for NVC EP. Having a difficult time explaining to my wife about the need and the "how & where to get" for the following:

    1. Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s birth certificate

    2. Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s and petitioner’s marriage certificate(she already has the certificate, need the "certified" part)

    3. Original police certificate(s) of the beneficiary

Anyone have this in "plain chinese" that I could send to her? Been trying various translations of information I have found on VJ and she is getting frustrated. I must not be saying the right thing. Who knew?!

    Thanks for your help!
