I'm confused as to why you're worried about deportation if you already have your 10 year GC. She can't do anything. You should've pressed charges after she hit you. If you have proof then go to your local court house and file a restraining order. File for divorce as well and move on with your life!!!

Your husband will get a copy of the divorce decree, it will show the address but no social #. Use your friend address if that's your only option and you can use a p.o box as well. Good luck

This is incorrect. From I-485 instructions, "You are NOT required to submit Form I-693 at the time you file your adjustment application, but may do so if you wish. Because of the time-limited validity of Form I-693, you may choose to submit your Form I-693 after you file your Form I-485. You may also submit Form I-693 in person at an interview in a USCIS field office, if an interview is required. By waiting to submit Form I-693, you may avoid having to repeat the immigration medical examination."
You don't need to wait on your I-693. You can bring it to the interview. Please see excerpt above from I-485 instructions. You will receive a courtesy letter from USCIS reminding you to bring it to the interview if you do not submit it with your package.
How long have they been doing this? I remember back in 08, you had to send everything in.

How soon can you apply for N400? You'd have to be a US citizen in order to apply for her.
-
I got approved March 5th and became a citizen April 17. I did wait over 3 weeks for my oath letter. San Diego always have a huge group that needs to be naturalized. My group had thousands. The line started at 5am. There's a few people who had their interview a week after me who are still waiting in SD. Just be patient!!
-
You can't do that. You're going to have to wait patiently.

What happens after oath ceremony? Do you inmediately get the naturalization certificate? Can you immediately apply for US passport?
Yes and yes!!

Huh, I totally understand. Fairfax is cool, I used to live in Vienna, VA. Good luck tomorrow
Hello everyone,
I have a question who already went to the interview. Do I need passport photos or not?
No you do not need passport photos!! But bring them at your oath ceremony just in case you want to apply for your passport right after

Be honest and bring all your paperwork and proof that it was paid. It should be fine. Good luck!

They gave her two options in an email today.
Renew green card or get an ADIT stamp.
Denver is over an hour away by plane.
So, just to be clear, you are saying there is no harm in letting it expire? I dont want her swearing-in ceremony to be ruined because we didn't act.
Yes it's completely fine. Just get the stamp. Why waste your money to renew a green card that you dont need

I am officially an American Citizen as of today and I'm so happy that this journey is OVER.
This is my experience in San Diego. I got there at 6:40am and there was already a really long line. They didnt start letting people in until 7:15am. They had a separate lane for family; they had to sit on upper levels. The house was packed!! They had a dance performance, they talked about passports, voting registration, had to watch a video by that orange idiot, sang the star spangled banner, did the pledge allegiance. I was out the door by 10:50am.
Apparently you're allowed to wear ripped Jean's for anyone who is curious about what they should wear.
Good luck everyone!!

Hi guys
i applied for n400 on October the 8 th.. I still didn’t hear anything about my interview.. even my extension for the green card gonna expire this month.. my question is if they schedule an interview will it appear first on my online account or I will get a mail first? Cuz I’m checking my status every day and it still the same..
Where are you? Is your office backed up? It will appear on your account the same time you get an email. You can always get another extension. Hang in there and be patient.

Question for the ladies: What did you wear for your interview?
I have two choices: a suit (pants + jacket), just what I would wear for a job interview. OR nice jeans + suit jacket (obviously a shirt as well, lol). I don't remember if I opted for the suit pants or jeans for my green card interview, I just recall having the same debate. Would a full suit be too much? Would a nice pair of jeans be too casual even with a suit top? Since I work from home, I don't own business casual clothes besides the suit.I wore a black skinny jeans, floral shirt with a blazer and a black flat. Tomorrow is my oath and i have no idea what I'm wearing. Hmm whatever lol

Call, make an infopass apt. USCIS takes their sweet ### time when it comes to rescheduling. Good luck!!!
-
Go ahead and apply. You won't have any issue. During your interview they will ask you if you would like to change your last name; say yes. Also they will or may not ask you as to why you got a divorce. Mine did and I just explain that it was a mutual decision after 8 years and that's it.

You are fine!!

I'm not sure how you were able to come back after being gone for 1 year 4 months and why your reentry was even approved. Someone else correct me, but I wouldnt apply for n-400 today. What did the lawyers say?

hahaha ok thank you I figured that being it would only be one fee but I didn't know if they needed copies. it was asking for a Alien Registration number USCIS account number and I didn't know if that was the number like YSC######### that I check my stats with.
I'm not sure when everyone that goes through uscis gets assigned an Alien registration # because I've had one since I was a kid but each one of them should have their own number and it should say A- and then a bunch of numbers. If you don't know that # then try calling their line or make an infopass

Did you get permission from the other bio parent to allow the kids to emigrate?
Is that what she's asking? Damn, some of you are so bold.
Make a copy and attach it to the girls packet. Can't answer the second question because I'm not understanding what you mean and I dont have the form right in front of me.

You might have a fraud issue and could be in trouble. Warning! Professor lecture ahead!
Your actions are the reason it is getting more and more difficult to get visas. If you come here on a student visa and quit school, you should go home. Overstaying is against the law. I wouldn't do that in your country because I respect your laws. I have met many Vietnamese college students that don't care about the degree - they just want to get married and stay in the U.S. Many students (and former students) work illegally in nail salons and restaurants, often exploited for labor and other things. I wish you the best, but it angers me that foreign students so nonchalantly toss their visas and overstay - never receiving the degree they claimed they wanted. It can't last.
Really? Are you serious right now? You could've kept all of this to yourself. OP, you will be fine!!. My parents brought me here on a visa at the age of 6, it expired and I overstayed. My oath ceremony is in 2 weeks and i will be an American Citizen!!

Yea. All you can do is wait.

Unfortunately I am still in the Oath Scheduling queue. At this point it doesnt look like I will be attending the Oath Ceremony on April 17. Unless by some miracle they schedule me soon.
I did wait over 3 weeks before they could schedule me. Have patience my friend!!

Hey there,
I am ready to send out my husband's I-485 but I am a tad a bit confused. I made well enough to sponsor him for the current year but the two previous year I had no income because I was a nursing student. I even have enough assets as well. Will I need a joint sponsor because I had no income for 2018 and 2017?
Thank you in advance for the feedbacks.
