ANKARA-- A groom accidentally killed three relatives at his wedding in Turkey on Sunday when he fired into the air with an assault rifle in celebration, the Anatolia news agency reported.

Eight other people were wounded at the incident at the village of Akcagoze in the South Eastern province of Gaziantep.

The groom unleashed a volley of rapid aerial shots with an AK-47 rifle to celebrate his nuptials, but quickly lost control of the weapon and accidentally raked the guests with bullets, the report said.

His father and two of his aunts died in hospital.

    The groom was arrested.

Turks are notorious for breaking out into gunshots to celebrate weddings and sports victories, a practice that has caused many deaths and which authorities have so far failed to curb.

  2. hi...just want to ask..after ur mom's 3 day sputum test,,was she ask to return to the clinic? or just to call to ff-up...i'm a bit nervous now... :( coz after my 3 day test,,they asked me to be back to the clinic on monday, aug 09,,OMG,,is that mean it's positive... :help:

i've never had nor exposed to TB before...and i don't smoke...if i have...my children shld be positive in their TB skin tests but they're not...waaaaaaaa...this is really getting into my nerves.. :crying:...

yup, they asked her to go back for the result and it was negative but still, she has to wait for 2 months for the culture. don't be too stressed out, everything's gonna be ok. just keep on praying.

btw, they won't tell the result via phone, even after the 2 months of culture test when my mom called they won't tell her the result, they just asked her to go back to the clinic.

  3. Im sorry to hear that she&chael. I know this is very hard specially for your daughter, my mom said that there were a couple elders that gave up their application when the clinic told them they have to undergo this daily treatment, with their old age they can't do it and said its not worth it (yung hirap at pagod sa pagpunta everyday, baka daw yun pa ang ikamatay nila).

Well think about it this way, this treatment will be good for your daughter health-wise even if its hard.

  4. My mom's 3-day sputum tests are over, but she was asked to go back on Monday for PFTs (Pulmonary Functioning Tests). Did your parents (mom/dad) went back to St. Luke’s to do PFTs also after they were done with their sputum tests?

No, they didn't ask my mom to go back and do PFT.

BTW, I just received a text from my mom, she PASSED the interview a couple hours ago. :)

She was told it would take up to 10 working days to get her visa.

  5. Hello sir/s. Hope I can get advice on some questions I have. My priority date is 15APR2000, F2B, which was filed by my dad in the US immediately upon arriving in the US as a permanent legal resident. After 5 or 7 years, he decided to become a US citizen. We (w/ my brothers) have received the 1st letter this year and already submitted the DS-230 form. Anyway, about the opting out thing, should I write the NVC stating my intention to opt out of conversion to F1 eventhough I haven't yet received notice about this opting out thing? thanks po. I'm having a little bit of anxiety because I see that the Aug2010 bulletin for F2B is already 15Aug2001 ata and ours is 15APR2000. hope somebody can give me advice.

Im not sure if its the NVC that you need to contact, I think my uncle and aunt sent a letter to the US Embassy and not NVC. Sorry, I can't verify it right now, they're currently in a plane on the way back here in CA.

  6. thanks for the input and the encouragement guys!

I agree that "moremoney=morehappiness" not because material things could make me happy (maybe temporary happiness), but because I could help people in need which gives me happiness.
