    An automated recorded message system is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to answer case status inquiries.

    Status of case information can only be provided by entering your NVC case number of CIS receipt number (USCIS NOA1 receipt number). NVC has information on received petitions only. If the automated system does not recognize the NVC case number or CIS receipt number you entered, most likely caused by NVC has not yet received your petition.

    Telephone operators are available to respond to more in-depth inquiries.

    Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (EST). Best time to call is 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM to 12:00 PM.

  2. My parents got separated 25 years ago when I was very young in the Philippines.

    There is no divorce law in the Philippines just annulment but my parents have never seen nor talked to each other ever since they got separated so the marriage was not annulled.

    My questions are:

    On the DS230, there is an option there that says: SEPARATED, are we still required to provide a documentation regarding their separation?

    If yes, what kind of documentation since none of the following is applicable:

    * FINAL divorce decree

    * Death certificate

    * Annulment papers

    If we don't provide a documentation since technically the marriage was not terminated will this be fine?

    Additional question:

    I'm trying to find shortcuts and tips on this forum regarding IR5 petitions/application but all I found is James' Shortcuts: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Jame%27s_Shortcut

    which is for CR1 and IR1 cases. Where can I find the tips for IR5?
