  1. I know I may be a little late with this but I feel that I can add something. Me and my husband had a civil wedding in Mexico and it was one of the most stressful situations. You have to go to the Oficina de Migracion and ask for permission to marry a mexican. You have to take a birth certificate that has an apostille. You also have to pay like 300. In the end we were denied and we had to reschedule. They said the letter we wrote asking for permission wasnt correct because we put we plan on getting married on a certain date instead of we are going to get married on that date. The whole process took about 3 weeks. I would reccommend getting a Lawyer if possible. The paper work is fairly simple (I did it myself) but I also visited the immigration office 6 times during those 3 weeks.

  2. Becareful in your traveling back and forth. I would not reccommend taking 2 taxis to go from the US to Mexico, there is really no need in it. It is just a straight shot, and it will only cost between 30-50. I would reccommend 2 from juarez back to el paso. When my husband got out of his interview, we were so excited. We found a taxi and he said he would take us all the way to elpaso for 30 dollars. Well that sounds great. So we said ok. Well after we got to el paso (we had to wait about 45 minutes in immigration) he said we owed him 130 for the wait time. We were so mad, but in the end ended up paying it. So be very careful with this

  3. Hey girls, I am pregnant again after my miscarriage. I am 7 weeks alongs as of today.

Congratulations DANI. Just thought I would let you know of a cool site I found www.babyfit.com

It is like a VJ for pregnancy and there are tons of people there who have been through everything tha comes with TTC. There are also so many success stories. You should really check it out. They are as supportive as the people here on VJ

  5. Marilyn I am so sorry, I will be praying for you and your family.

NOt to change the subject or anything, I just wanted to let everyone know, we went to the Dr yesterday and after they couldn't find a heart beat an ultrasound confirmed that our baby had died.

  6. I know I am really thinking in advance, but I know like the visa process, when things start to happen there seems to be no time for anything. My husband and I plan visiting his family in Mexico next summer after the baby is born. Does anyone know the requirements for traveling to Msxico with an infant, what papers are required, etc.

    thanks for your help

    Pasport

will a passport be necessary since americans are allowed to travel to mexico with out a passport (or at least until 2008)

but nevertheless a Birth certificate will do?

Passport is just so much easier.... Proof of citizenship is required until the passport rule is in place.

  9. I just found this thread, I didnt know there was a mexico thread either.

As you can see from my timeline, my husband and I arrived in the US in March. We filed DCF in Mexico City. As for timelines, I am not sure if mine will be very helpful, but from what I have seen after the ase reaches CDJ it takes at least 8 months for an interview, but usually more. good luck
