  1. All documents not in English must be translated. There is no exception for Spanish. Documents in Spanish must be translated into English.

Read the instructions for Form I-130:

"Translations. Any foreign language document must be accompanied by a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and correct, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English."

If you know someone who knows Spanish and English, that person can do the translation. Include the translation block. Notarization is not required.

  2. I just got some interesting infromation from NVc today. As I previously posted, I sent an email to NVC asking that both of my in-laws cases be scheduled for an interview on the same day. For some reason that was interpreted as an expedite request. The request was forwarded to Juarez on the 17. It was also resent today because Juarez still had not replied. I asked the operator what was going on with the mail that was received on the 7th and the 13th. She said that once they receive an expedite request they do nothing else to the case until the expedite is either approved or denied. She said that if the expedite was approved that it would be ALOT faster but she doesnt know how long Juarez will take to reply. So now I am sruggling with the decision as to whether to wait for the response for an expedite request or to cancel that out (via email) and go on with normal processing. I asked what would happen if several days passed and Juarez hadnot replied to the email. She said that they would send out another email. So now, decisions decisions

  3. So i am a bit confused. My 2 RFE's were entered into the system. The first on the 7th and the second on the 14th. Both item are currently being reviewed.. As per advice of an NVC operator, I sent an email asking for my in-laws to have their interviews on the same day. My stated reason for requesting this was so that they may feel a bit more secure in a place that is so violent if they were not alone. I never asked for a quicker interview, I just asked that the interviews be scheduled on the same day. I just got off the phone with NVC and the op. told me that my expedite request had been forwarded on to the consulate. Did I some how request an expedite unintentionally?

  5. What is your RFE?

    Loto

When Speaking to the operator about it yesterday he told me since we weren't missing info, just an incomplete document that there was no need to wait for the checklist. He said to go ahead and get it ready and send it in. SO I sent in the revised form yesterday (with my original AOS bar-coded sheet). Has anyone else done this? He said it wouldn't delay the processing past the normal delay for entering the info
