Thanks for all your support guys! Wouldn't have made it this far without you all!
The CO didn't look at one thing. Seriously. I dropped 5lbs of evidence in front of her. She said, "Well, your visa is approved! Congrats!"
I was like, "Seriously? That's it? You don't wanna see some pictures? Phone bills?"
Now I feel bad for all the trees I killed!
wowwwwwwww happy for you ........sachinky

Sanchinky, you have also been very helpful and prompt in answering some of my questions, so I want to thank you for that.
The operators confused the heck out of me. My mom worked in Italy for 9 months and given that the duration was less than a year, we did not include a police certificate for her (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#certificates). When I called last week to ask about the police certificate, I was told that my mom needs to submit only certificates from Romanian and Moldovia (I don't get the Moldavia part because my mom has never lived in Moldavia), but no certificates from Italy. When I called back today, I was told that she does need to submit a certificate for Italy because she has lived there for more than 6 months. The operator was adamant about this, although on the DOD website it states that the certificate is only required if the person has lived in another country for 12 months. Who is right?
Thank you!
lived in a different part of their country of nationality for more than 6 months if it was 16 years or older at that time
lived in a different country for more than 12 months if it was 16 years or older at that time

USCIS just sent me a e-mail that your "WE HAVE APPROVED YOUR CASE".... I am just so excited ..feeling so relax...finally got my approval notice
congrats!!!
-
yes I have my case# and I paid the $470 about 2 months ago.
Disregard my previews post carolynhotstuff, I was thinking if you just received you're NOV2... But, You seem to have complete your payment AOS and IV and your paper now be patient give it two weeks and you may call NVC talk to the operator about your case or you can E-mail too.
-
All my paperwork will be mailed to NVC on Monday. Now what do I do? I mean how do I keep on top of my case with them. Can I call them after a week to see if they got my paperwork? Should I call and give them our email addresses?
I would be grateful for any advice.
Call Monday and give them your E-mail (Do you have your NVC case #?)

I can't believe it!! I just can't believe it!!
One hour ago, I am still so depressed because I can still see the "Receipt Page" on NVC login. And now, I got the Sign In Fail!!!!
I just called the NVC and the operator confirmed that the case is just completed this morning. What an amazing Anniversary Gift. All we are waiting for now is the interview date.
Keep trying and keep hoping, everyone!! It has been a very long journey for us and full of challenges and difficulties--with his laid off from work, my health issues, and so on. But, I am literally in tears when I see that red "sign in fail" page, and again when the operator confirmed the case is just completed this morning.
Thank you for all the support on VJ!
Best wishes to every one's journey!
I know how you feel, we all are happy for you GOD is GOOD , GOOD news on your Anniversary...

Read the I864EZ instructions on who can use that form. If you qualify, use that. It's certainly easier.
It's basically income alone.
Thank you very much sachinky, i'll definitely use it. By the way are you excited for your interview? I wish you good luck. sachinky My GOD be with you and I'll pray for you.
-
I'm on May NVC too, I have one @ Just like to ask what's the difference between I-864 & I-864EZ? How do i know which one i need?

Good morning, VJ! Another day, another opportunity for LIF/SIF! And hopefully, interview dates!
Good morning, Married2009 to you too!

Our I-130 has been approved!!!!!! We were talking on skype together when my sweetheart screamed out that we were approved after reviewing our case on the USCIS.gov. We both have smiles that will never go away... amazing!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOO
Congratulation!!!

Please don't be disappointed, I'm sure the poster did not mean to offend anyone. I can see why they would say it...as someone who had to wait 16 months for a NOA 2-for no given reason!!!!. I think the biggest issue is that there is no one else to vent our frustrations on-except our VJ families. My own family/friends/coworkers don't have a clue what we are going through, and it's just nice to open up to people who are in the same situation. So don't take it to heart what you see here, each individual case is different, and we will all make it through ok.
MSPtoYYZ I definitely agree with you. We are here to share our experience in order to find out how the process go when you share your information and your experience they should appreciate it sometimes some of us have a special need, each individual case is different.
I can understand if I found myslef in the same situation. All I can do pray for me and for everyone VJ family a speedy journey to make it through to be with our loved ones. Thank you very much for your thoughtful and wisdom MSPtoYYZ I really appreciated.

It's just frustration, hon. It's hard not to be frustrated when the situation's not in your control. I had a nice little rant about K1s and high fraud consulates. Doesn't mean I have anything against them. It just means that was a rough day. Focus on getting through NVC. Your situation is your own and there's nothing wrong with that.
Thank you TheBears I'll focus on what i have to do, YES in did Thankx

S&ET - is the expedited petition from Ethiopia yours? I can't remember the VJ member but I read the post and it was for humanitarian reasons. Considering the climate over there, understandable.
This process is hard and it is overwhelming, don't take it to heart. We all know and understand the hardships that different people face. 'Friendly' countries are not always easy. We waited nearly 5 months for our NOA2. I think the problem with countries like Canada is there Consulates are also backed which adds to the stress. When you've waited so long, you get to the end only to find out that you've another wait for an interview date ... I'm sure no one meant to offend ...
Thank you Deb+Steve I hope so. i'm ok with it...

I agree. If you are mentioning their present address then obviously they are alive.
I feel leaving a few fields blank gives the form an uncluttered and easy-to-read feel.
Of course you do not want to leave any necessary fields blank but there are a few you can leave blank. For instance, details on military service. If you answer "No" for military service, why bother to clutter the fields underneath it with N/A?
My lawyer left several fields blank in the I-130 and it got approved.
TheMatrix thank you, we are talking about form DS-230 yes, Of course you do not want to leave any blank

hey this is cool.. the CONSULTORIO DE VISAS( the only doctors authorized to conduct medical examinations for visa applicants) ..THEY HAVE A YOUTUBE Channel and they have this video instruction how it works the day of your medical.cool
Nice presentation video just by seen the image even I dont understand the language but, its really a nice information just by viewing the video presentation. estrellademiel thank you for sharing!

N/A
I only put NONE in the question LISTED CHILDRENS BLA BLA ...
Yes... We did put "NONE" ... my wife did she is cool
-
If it asks for a specific thing ie., "how many children do you have?" and you don't have any, then the proper answer would be NONE. If it is asking, as in your case, "if deceased, give year of death", then the proper answer would be N/A or not applicable. Doesn't apply to you since the person is still alive. I also hand wrote in the spaces where it wouldn't allow the N/A's to be typed and had no problems I even hand wrote some information that my wife hadn't typed in the form and it went ok.
Thank you Kevin-n-Merlaine for sharing your experience I'll definitely use this suggestion "N/A" with my wife we currently reviewing our DS-230 form.

Yes, there was one question that I had to leave blank on the computer and write in the answer, which I did with black ink. Again, we had no problems with this. As others have said, don't leave anything blank!
Thank you Vanessa1 for your quick response, thank you very much and I really appreciate it.
